I was expecting nicer and cleaner-looking rooms based on the photos. Even though I didn't expect to watch TV during my stay, it was odd that the TV in our room didn't even turn on. The housekeeping didn't come around until 3pm one day, by which we had returned to our room to have a late lunch/snack. The walk to city center is pretty nice and the location is very convenient for public transportation. The location is great in terms of the main central station, but the surrounding area was surprisingly ghetto. However, it's within walking distance of the main pedestrian area, which is much nicer. Well compared to other hotel at this price range (not to the stars), hotel was good enough for a stay of a couple of days; however, rooms were small, not dirty but old or "retro". I had a last minute reservation with a discount : hopefully. My twin beds room was a monk room, tiny, with very few places to unpack my stuff, with furnitures out of age. Breakfast was ok. And location not too bad, in front of the train station and close enough to downtown.

Very nice hotel. The room faced the street and the Christmas lights and markets were very nice to look at in the evening. However, it was very noisy most of the night into the morning hours. The best part of this hotel was that it was across the street from one of the main train stations. The room was very large and the beds were relatively comfortable. This hotel overall was very convenient and decent for My husband & I who were travelling Europe by Train. We were able to literally just walk a block through to our hotel from Munich Central Station so it was very convenient in that sense. However we did end up with a room with 2 single beds. The breakfast was included and surprisingly very good! We were in a strange location in the back of the hotel and so we did have a couple of noise issues but nothing major. Internet was free as well which was nice. The area was not bad if you dont mind taking the subway to some of the major attractions. The best quality of this hotel is its location just one block from the train station. However, the hotel feels dark and outdated, the bedrooms are big, but the bathrooms need a little renovation. We were there in late September, but the room was hot and very noisy at night (although it could be because we were at the time of Oktober Fest).

The location was a 10 minute walk to Oktoberfest. The room we stayed in left me wondering what was going on. Were they in the middle of updates? The name was disceptive---I was expecting it to be more luxurious. No amentities in bathroom other than the "squeeze " bottle bof soap. When the room was made up in the mroning, no fresh towels. Very spartan.

The room is large enough - so is the bathroom, but it is sparse. There is only one place to put a suitcase and not enough drawers for 2 people to unpack, so we lived out of a suitcase. The TV is small old-school. They daily cleaning was emptying the garbage, giving a new towel if requested and straightening the bed. The hair and fuzz on the floor in […] the bathroom remained after the cleaning. Our hallway was also not vacuumed daily and it was gross. . We enjoyed the breakfast that was included in our first 3 mornings (we were part of a group) but would not pay 16 euros for it apiece for the last day. The reception people during the day were quite helpful. Calling reception was mixed - it was answered about 50% of the time. On our last morning, cleaning knocked on the door at 8 a.m. for cleaning - seriously we were just waking up and they could've waited for us to checkout at 10 a.m. The elevator had issues the whole time - with one of the lifts not working for a lot of the time - meaning LONG waits - we took the stairs every time except when we had our luggage on the last day and waiting 12 minutes. After our 2nd day, I thought something was amiss when we returned to our room - and when I returned home realized my jewelry is missing. The hotel claims no responsibility - but there is no in-room safe and when I asked about a hotel safe the first day was told it was small and it could maybe hold a few papers if I really needed it. The hotel is not the newest ,but the staff is extremely firendly. The beds were clean, but not the most comfortable. If you are expecting a royal suite, think again, but for a clean, large room with a pleasantly sized bath, this place is great. The price was excellent and I found it a nice walk to the train station and the Marienplatz.

This hotel does not deserve 4 stars. I stayed at The Regent for two nights with my daughter and our experience was disappointing. Our bathroom was covered in mold, the bedboards had layers of dust, and the curtains seemed to not have been washed in a long time and had a stench. The TV was super old and the screen quality terrible. We could not connect […] to the internet in the room (not with iphone, ipad or mac). The air in the room was warm and sticky when we came and when we opened the window we heard the announcements of the train station loud and clear, in fact, we looked right down on the tracks. The elevator floor and handles were sticky. Because of all that, we did not have breakfast there but at the excellent Cafe Rischart inside the Bahnhof. The location of the Regent is good because of its proximity to the train station BUT it is certainly not a nice or safe neighborhood. Read more

It wasn't obvious from the room description that the room didn't have air conditioning. The south facing room was extremely hot, and opening the windows was not a good idea since the room faced the train station which was undergoing night time construction.

The Regent is okay for the price and has a good location but is definitely not a four-star hotel, which is what Expedia lists it as. There's no air conditioning, the furnishings are dated and the Internet access was spotty.

After 21 years of travelling to Europe, I have finally found the largest hotel room. There were 3 of us staying in a room the size of 3 double U.S. hotel rooms. The hotel is definitely not something to write home about. If you are traveling on a budget with a buddy, as I was, its the best compromise between price and location. The room was as expected, not overly large but big enough for two people and their luggage. The continental breakfast was excellent. The room was very clean when we arrived, the beds were decently comfortable. The location was perfect - a 2-3 min. walk to the Hauptbahnof (main train station), where all the DB trains, S-Bahn and U-Bahn (subways) are […] accessible. The price was decent, but it is slightly cheaper then other hotels in the area for a reason. There are three main complaints I had with the hotel overall: 1) There is no air conditioning anywhere in the hotel, which was only a problem on one night of our stay, but if you have a hard time dealing with heat and humidity, avoid this hotel in the summer months. The room we were in faced the train station, and because of the noise (mainly train station announcements and street traffic), it was impossible to sleep with the window open (but when closed, the noise was not a problem). 2) The wireless internet, although freely included with the room, is ridiculously slow and terrible. And there is no wired (ethernet) connection in the rooms. 3) Despite leaving the sign on the door for the room to be made up, cleaning services did not made up the room at all on our second night, and we were out of the hotel ALL day (from 7:30am-9pm), so that was slightly off putting. But if my three complaints are ones you can deal with, and you want a hotel a stones throw from the train station, then this is the place for you. Read more

I called the reception a couple of times with questions, and always felt that it was a big imposition--no sense of friendly service. One woman at the reception was more helpful than the guys, who seemed as if they couldn't care less. Excellent location (one block from the D-Bahn S-trains). Large clean comfortable room and bath, well maintained. Helpful staff. Excellent breakfast inc. in the pre-pay Hotels.com reservation. Will be my first choice next time in Munich. Was there in January so no comment for hot-weather conditions. Winter stay was comfortable in every way.
