Needed to find a good, reasonable place to stay for my sons hockey tournament in western mass. Didnt want to stay in a hockey hotel with parents and screaming kids. What a find the Old Mills is. It's a B&B for sure; quiet, clean, friendly, great breakfast in the AM..... couldn not have been more pleased.... A+++

"Satisfactory hotel with nice pool"

"Worst Hotel I have stayed in"
When checking out after one night I asked to see the manager about the cleanlyness of the bathroom. Call back tomorrow the young girl told me as the manager was not there on a Sunday. Over the last month i have 8 calls in to the manager, leaving my phone number. No response at all. The bathroom had black mold in the shower and hair stuck to the door. "Ok for a one night stay"

"Old hotel - don't get on 2nd floor unless young"
I found it unbelievable that I was only offered a room on the 2nd floor and there was no ramp or elevator to get there. I was on a long trip with a very heavy suitcase and cooler which I had to get up/downstairs which were narrow and steep. The staff did not seem to think that this was unusual or any problem, but I am 63 years old and recovering from […] a foot reconstruction. "Great staff, nice breakfast area"
We had a problem getting access to our room, because the door mechanism was broken. We had to get the desk staff to let us in the first night, but the door was fixed the next morning. "Nice Room"
We stayed here for a show at the Calvin Theatre. Check In was easy and the location was great. We could walk to the show. The room was very clean. Only problem was the indoor pool. The A/C was broken and they still had the pool heated. On this 100+ degree day we didn't want to swim in tepid water in a pool area that more resembled a sauna. Very steamy! "Quality Inns and Suites Northhampton"
We ussually stay at the Hotel Northhampton, but on this trip we really wanted to be able to go swimming. The entire stay was very enjoyabe and surprisingly inexpensive. Quality Inn is in a great location . It has comfortable clean rooms ,great, free breakfast and complimentary Internet access in all the rooms. But what makes it really shine is it's staff . Hotel was not nice at all and attitude of manager was terrible, but my wife & I traveled together and room had hardly any towels and they knew 2 people were coming, but not enough towels for 2 people. Also, they had a continental breakfast.It ended at 10am. We checked out in lobby at 10:07am,breakfast food was still out and no one around to clean-up. "Quality Inn Northampton, MA post Thanksgiving"
The motel was relatively empty. The front desk upgraded our room to a king size bed on the ground floor instead of two standard double beds on the second floor. If you can disregard stains on the carpet and unclean toilets, this is an O.K. place to stay. I saw it as an exercise in being separate. It was comfortable enough, but the level of cleanliness was not appropriate, breakfast started being taken away at 10:10 when it was indicated to be available until 10:30, and the general level of the hotel was shabby. "Not the greatest hotel, but good location"
The best thing about this hotel was its location. We could walk to downtown Northampton in 10 minutes, which was great for exploring bars and restaurants. "Unrenovated rooms not worth the price"
Good location. The differences in rooms was vast. Some were done over and looked pretty good. It appeared that the main hotel was redone but only part of the "motel-like" area was and the rooms that were not done over were not great. Not worth the money that the room cost. Small pool but adequate if no one else was there. Would not stay there again […] unless I called the reservation line and was assured of a room in the taller hotel area that was renovated. "Filthy carpet"
Upon check-in, we discovered that the non-smoking room we booked had been previously used by serious smokers. It smelled so bad in the room that we had to ask for a second room. The second room, while smoke-free, had a filthy carpet complete with cracker crumbs strewn across it. This was a motel, but quite an up-market one. Huge double bed, and very clean and tidy room, with big ensuite bathroom, and excellent shower. Good breakfast. Guy on duty when we arrived mid-evening was a bit brisk, and his directions to get into town led to us ending up back on the Interstate, with no exit for 10 miles ! Morning staff much more welcoming […] and on the ball. Location described as being within walking distance of town centre, which is a bit misleading, as it's about a mile away, - too far when it's pouring with rain, as it was when we arrived.
