The architectural concept of the hotel is weird but they deliver and their breakfast is great. I wish they had a free shuttle to the airport. Friendly staff.

It's tough to write good reviews when you are getting bent over by Norwegian prices and taxes. However, when all is said and done this is a very good location with reasonably friendly service. The hotel has a phenomenal breakfast and great connectivity to the surrounding area and airport.

We had a 6:30am departure out of Oslo, so wanted to be as close to the airport as possible. Sometimes the "closest" knows they have you hooked so it can be an overpriced dump. The hotel was super and our room as clean, comfortable, and modern as any I have stayed in. We commented that the design and layout would make the perfect guest bedroom in our own home. There is a covered and protected walkway that takes you straight into the terminal. This is absolutely the best game in town for being comfortable and a few minutes walk into the terminal.
The hotel is located in the heart of Oslo, close to Oslo Cathedral, Storting, and Museum For Contemporary Art. Also nearby are Oslo City Hall and Akershus Fortress.
Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in public areas. Business amenities at the property include a business center, small meeting rooms, and audio-visual equipment.
Among other things, the hotel's restaurant "Bjørvigen Mat & Vinhus" serves a large luncheon buffet with hot and cold dishes, as well as a delicious à la carte menu. In addition, there is a cosy lobby bar with room for approx. 30 people.
The hotel has 175 rooms and several suites and 10 business rooms. All rooms are of a high international standard, well equipped with TV, minibar, trouser press, hairdryer, etc., in addition to the rooms being decorated with art (reproductions) by various famous Norwegian artists.

"Oslo Rica Hotel Rocks"
I mean, it literally rocks. The hotel is a lovely place, with a wonderful staff, plush unbelievably soft beds and an excellent location right near the Oslo train stations. Unfortunately, it's also located right next to a fairly popular night club that can be heard in about half the rooms. I had a lot of trouble getting to sleep my first two nights in […] this hotel, and, when I asked to be moved to another room on the other side of the building, I was told they were all booked up. Finally for the third night they were able to move me. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, the breakfast is fabulous and it's a very comfortable place to be, but make sure you ask for a room away from the night club! Read more

Enjoyed my stay very much. Typical room size and amenities for Oslo. Nice breakfast spread. Loved the decor. Staff was very helpful and relaxed- not as rushed as other bigger hotels

"Good service"
I only had one day in Oslo before returning to New York. The willingness and helpfulness of the employees at the reception was out standing. The hotel serves a good breakfast at the top of my line who has visited a lot of hotels around the World.
"Very nice hotel with fabulous location"
Very convenient to train station and bus station as well as local buses. This is a big plus as cabs are expensive if you come in via air, train, bus.

"terrible value"
the room was adequate enough, but the location, although close to the train station, lacked character. The public spaces in the hotel were mediocre, the fitness room a joke (and sort of isolated = scary). I felt my room was very isolated and did not feel a 100% safe at times.

Business conference in Oslo limited room availability. Hotels jacked prices up accordingly. Very expensive stay.

The hotel is in the middle of Oslo, close to everything, shopping as well as the central station. Great room and the breakfast buffet was really fantastic. I strongly recommend this hotel...

Very well placed in Central Oslo but as with so many hotels that are near the central railway stations then you can expect not so sweet people in the neighbourhood during night-time. Good and friendly service, good price,clean room and it met all my criteria for business hotel, including free WiFi. Short way from the Opera, Aker Brygge and Karl Johan […] the main street of Oslo. "1 Night OK but any longer NO!"
Hotel is perfectly comfortable and has an above-average breakfast service- but rooms are tiny by modern standards.Hotel struggled to reply to requests in advance sent to the correct email address. Half of rooms face a very loud Karaoke bar. The rest face a silent courtyard so its pot-luck. Feels like a regional hotel in the UK so not really hitting […] international standards.. No bar. Staff friendly though. Fine for short stays but wouldn't recommend for longer than one night, particularly if on business. Read more
"The best location that one could hope for"
As a stranger, the greatest trepidation in a new place is how one will be able to manage the new place. This hotel location seems to solve all problems. Bang in front of the central station, it has a straight link with the airport by frequent trains. Bus services, tram services start at the doorstep. The staff is friendly and helpful. Eateries abound […] in the vicinity. Shopping is a bag away. The only negative would be the cost (I believe all hotels in Oslo are expensive) and there are no tea things in the room. "Comfortable, friendly &excellent value"
Full buffet breakfast included and wi fi access. Excellent shower, comfy beds - some rooms are rather bijou, but functional. Full mini bar and snacks in room. I have never stayed in a bad Rica hotel and this was no exception. Restaurant closes at 10pm which is normal for all Oslo hotels, but several places around open past midnight. Opposite is The […] Royal Christiana - I have stayed in both hotels and would come back to the Rica out of choice. Walking distance of station - friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended. the hotel was welcoming and clean it was cosmopolitan and provided all information for the weekend in oslo. the breakfasts were excellent. the 2 negatives were the window views? piles of scaffolding and rubble. and then once in room no tea or coffee making facilities.

"Rica Hotel Oslo."
Vi valgte hotellet på grunn av beliggenhet - bare noen meter fra sentralbanestasjonen. Nær tilgang til shopping og gode restauranter. I tillegg fikk vi nyte en deilig frokost før vi drog videre på et møte i Oslo. Maten var kjempegod. Med hilsen en kjempefornøyd kunde på snarvisit i Oslo.

Hotellet har veldig fin beliggenhet for de som tar toget til Oslo. De ansatte var veldig blide og service-innstilte. Rommene vare rene og koselige. Rommet vi fikk (322) var romslig, og til en grei pris. Kan trygt anbefales!

Bra hotell i centrala Oslo. Tyvärr är restaurangen stängd på söndagar men de erbjuder take out från en närliggande pizzeria eller Kina mat. Sköna sängar och bra frukost.

Helt sentralt i Oslo, grei pris, bra comfort, nydelig frokost, men en av oss måtte på seminar og rakk ikke å få seg noe morgenmat.

Synes beliggenheten er ganske unik - nært alt sentralt. Betjeningen sånn rimelig behjelpelig med alt jeg spurte om - få rommet litt lenger etc. Frokosten helt ok, men ikke noe wow. Rommet var i grunnen litt kjedelig, men i forhold til pris / beliggenhet synes jeg det var ok nok. Internett funka greit og det er vikig for meg ( det er viktigere for meg […] enn at rommet er strøkent) For de som elsker god utsikt var rommet helt forferdelig, men jeg gir nå katta i det Sitter igjen med en ok førlese etter besøket på hotellet Read more

Dette er et greit hotell med god beliggenhet. Nær drosjeholdeplass, tog, flytog og T-bane. God frokost, men litt stress da personalet tydligvis skulle klargjøre rommet for annet arrangement samtidig som vi spiste.
