"Not as advertised!"
While the hotel was nice, it was woefully awful for what I spent and what should be an all inclusive. There was only one "real" restaurant included, and even that had a limited menu. The other restaurants were either bars or seafood buffets. I can go to myrtle beach for that. Another complaint was that there was no beach anywhere near the hotel. You […] either had to take a 10-15 min boat ride to their private island or walk to their sister hotel. This hotel rates horrible in my experience due to their version of all inclusive. You have to sign for everything and the limited menus and poor food quality make it a place I will never recommend to anyone. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice location near renovations"
Husband and I chose to stay at this specific hotel because it was adult exclusive. It was located near the cruise terminal and not far from the airport. We hardly heard the airport. We took the local Arubus, which cost 2.30 each person to ride the bus, to travel up and down the West side of Aruba. It was a very nice place to stay at. The only downside […] to it all was that there was construction work going on. Not only in the hotel, but outside. We really could not sleep in past 8:00 AM, because we'd hear hammering upstairs (we stayed on the 5th floor), or the jackhammering outside our window (we had Island View) but finding something to do, like their Private Islands, or to go explore was not a problem. Needless to say, we are both tired from our vacation, but tired in a good way. We probably would not stay at this hotel until the construction on both outside and inside are completed. Me and partner stayed for 5 says at the hotel. We had a great experiences. The hotel is at a great location and is conected to several stores. "Great for single people!"
I absolutely loved this hotel. Me and my 5 girlfrinds stayed here on the Adult only side and we really enjoyed it. The staff was great, food was great, location was great and for all of you shoppers out there... this hotel is connected to a great mall with high end stores inside. The bar/pool area is amazing. Awesome vacation!Genuine Expedia guest review
very relaxing, affordable, luxurious hotel, not crowded, good for families, couples, girl/guy groups. plenty of eating & drinking options, lots to do during the day (shopping, casinos, excursions, visits to private island). Night-life activities could use some improvment but booking a ride on the party bus, eating a 3 course meal at the great LG Smith […] steak house on the property and a $14 taxi to high-rise area easily solve that. "Great get away for a lving couple"
Everything was great. The all inclusive is 130.00 per person per day. This was our first time there and heard from many friends not to pay for that. There are too many restaurants within walking distance and you would want to experience them, from a fantastic local BBQ to fine dinning. This was a good choice. Not to take anything away from the Hotel […] food, we did eat one dinner and breakfast everyday, and we were very satisfied. There are 2 Renaissance hotels. There is the Marina and the Ocean front. The Marina does not have the swim up bar the ocean front one does. However they have a happy hour from 4:30-7:00 and Rafael, Jackie and Irada were amazing Bartenders. Fast with a drink, very friendly and also offered suggestions on where to go. Hit Pinchos and Madam Jeannets for dinner you will not be disappointed. Great place we will be back Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"My room was full of mold"
My room was full of mold and old appliances, it doesn't worth the $300 I spent in a Ocean view suite. Very disappointed !Genuine Expedia guest review
There are two properties at this resort. One is the Marina and the other Oceanside. The Marina is being remodeled and while the Oceanside wont be remodeled until next per Resort employee. Although in need of a remodel, the Oceanside has much more ammenities. Our room had a microwave and a cooktop; I think all rooms have them. There are a few pools and […] a lagoon, whereas, the Marina has one and is adults only. There are more free outside parking at the Oceanside, however, be AWARE not to leave anything is your car! Our rental was stolen from the Renaissance parking lot! Security and management were Not helpful and tried to blame us. The manager onsite said the parking is a public parking site therefore they are not responsible. On the contrary, there are many signs posted clearly stating that the parking areas ONLY FOR Renaissance Guests. The private beach is nice and quiet, however, man-made rocks were placed around the beach line to keep people from going out too far. As a result it feels like a lagoon more than the beach. Over all an average resort with good walking distance to downtown and Louis Vouitton. I would stay at the Marriots next time. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I stayed at the marina hotel. It was good enough because we weren't in the room that much. It's located in downtown next to shopping centers and markets. I love the private island and service at the island was great! Taxis are always available.$11 to palm beach. Hotel is also close to bus stop which we also took to palm beach. It cost $2.30 10 min ride. […] We also rented a card for one day. I suggest if this is your first time in Aruba don't rent car until you have taking a taxi or bus first to know your way around because there are no signs to indicate where anything is or what street you are in. Overall experience at this hotel was great. Next time we go we are probably going to try to stay at palm beach. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Two hotels for the price of one."
Hotel is a short ride from the airport. The downtown location is convient to shopping and restaurants. It will be outstanding after June when all the downtown renovations are complete. At present the streets and sidewalks are all torn up but passible. A new trolly line is in place and should be 100% operational in June. The hotel is very nice and the […] mall (luxury stores ,Gucci, Louis Vetton etc.) is attached. The Casino is good but not large compared to Vegas or Atlantic City. The restaurants are a little pricey, but excellant. We highly reccomend at the hotel, the Aquarius, the all you can eat seafood buffet with lobster and king crab.. We also ate at Amazonia, many different kinds of meat carved right at your table and Driftwood another restaurant in the downtown area. The Ocean Suites (sister properety) is a short walk or golf cart ride away. The pool area is much larger than at the marina. The food court or marketplace is right out the front door of the Suites, with ten to fourteen moderate priced restaurants and shops. People to help with tours and reservations are located in the lobby. The private island is a short boat ride and well worth the ride. Pick up at the lower level of the lobby. Excellant stay , we will return. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel but not the best location for beaches"
Staff was very nice and helpful. Rental car desk and tour desk available onsite as well as restaurants and shopping. We did not like the private island. It was hard to walk in the water without shoes because of the coral and rocks. We ended up renting a car or taking a taxi and going to Boca Catalina and Baby Beach. Aruba was great!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel for a fun time"
Great experience for my wife and I. We have been to quite a few places and I can tell you we had a great time. The pool, the bars and the food were super for us. Met some fun people from all -over and they seemed to be having a great time too. The staff makes you want to come back which I think we will. Julio knew my name right away.Genuine Expedia guest review
"First time in Aruba"
The bathrooms are very old, need updating. Three days in a row I had to call and ask that my room be cleaned. The drinks are extremely weak and the food in pool area is horrendous.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Dated hotel, Poor location"
If you like airplanes flying over all day while you try to relax at the pool or private island, stay here! If you like staying in a hotel that literally makes you feel like you are stuck in the 70's and is very worn inside (and I checked multiple rooms) and you want to spend an outrageous nightly rate compared to better places on the island--stay here! Honestly, […] this hotel is very old and not located near any relaxing areas in Aruba or even on a nice clear beach. Planes constantly fly over. The rooms are aweful--old tubs, dingy carpet, low ceilings and ceiling tiles in bathrooms. And at the rates demanded for at this hotel, you can stay at the Divi Phoenix or other Marriott properties for much less! DO NOT STAY HERE. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel has everything"
Facility is nice and clean. They could use better pool chairs though. It was sometimes hard to get a good one. Check-in time is 4 p.m. and it seemed to me that they enforce this. For starters we could not check-in before that time upon arrival, and everyday we saw luggage lying around waiting to be taken to rooms. Most people are nice, but some have […] some kind of attitude. Also be careful with the tips. I over tipped everybody for the first two days as I did not realize that every time I bought food or beverages, a service charge had already been included (15%). But in general I would be back to this place. By the way, they have two facilities a few blocks from each other. My understanding is that one is for families (where we stayed) and the other one for couples. Our hotel did not have a gym on site, but we had access to the one at the other facility. As a bonus, the hotels own a private island in Aruba, for which all guests have free access. The beach is beautiful. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Aruba is our favorite vacation destination - and the Renaissance has become our favorite hotel. The first time we stayed at the hotel - my husband booked the vacation and I couldn't imagine staying at a hotel in Aruba that was not on the beach!!! After spending a day on the island, I fell in love with the concept of taking a pleasant boat ride out to […] paradise and then having the privace held for hotel guests. The room at the hotel was very pretty and beachy and the bed was so comfortable; however, the bathroom needed a little updating - but was very clean. Great experience! "Lovely downtown Hotel in Orangestead!"
Very nice downtown Hotel (Renaissance Aruba Marina Resort) in Oranjestead. Great location with a beautiful, private beach island. The public areas were spectacular (lobby, boat launch, fitness center, shopping mall, restaurants (including a Starbucks), nice casino). I would only recommend this hotel to a friend depending on the quality hotel they are looking for. If they don't plan n spending a lot of time in the room, this hotel would be good. If they're looking for a more upscale nicer room with amenities, stay some place else. My toilet leaked twice and had to be fixed. the maintenance guy was very nice though. "Great for couples"
This was our 4th time at this hotel. There was an error on our room location but they fixed it immediately. You will love the staff. We have been going there since 2004 and it is like coming home because the staff turnover is little to none. We can't wait to go back next year!Genuine Expedia guest review
Cleanliness of rooms was not the best. Smelled of mildew. Staff was not very friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
First and foremost, we love Aruba and can not wait to return. The Renaissance is a beautiful resort. The location was great with everything right there and it has a very low key atmosphere. Things were usually quiet by 10:00 at night. So that was the time to go next door. The casino is fun and drinks are on the house. Nice touch. Being right downtown […] you could walk to all the shops. The Renaissance has its own mall, however it is all designer retail stores so not everyone can shop there. One thing I did notice is that many of the people who worked in the market next door seemed tired and uninterested in the people or their job. If I could give the hotel any advice, I would say to bump up the brunch at the outdoor restaurant. If I could give you any advice it would be to make SURE you know where your room is. It is very big with two hotels across the street from each other. We requested an ocean view and they put us in the hotel across the street with only a pool, no balcony, and no view of anything. We did upgrade to the other side but for an additional cost and had a lovely room with a great view. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for families and couples"
We have been coming to this hotel for 4 years in a row. We love the family atmosphere and couples would also enjoy this hotel. This hotel is very well maintained, however service is a bit slow, but so is the island, seems to be the culture here. They have an island you take a boat out to that runs every 10 minutes or so. The island is WONDERFUL! They […] have a family side and an adult side. They also have a beach and pools at the hotel. Good for small children. This side of the island doesn't seem as touristy as the other side. Feels like you get away from the hustle and bustle. This will relax you if you feel stress of any sort. Casinos are easy to get to if you like to gamble along with high end stores located just in walking distance with restaurants. Taxis are easy to get also. Favorite restaurants on island are Madam Janette and Barefoot just a taxi ride away. For pizza Casa Tua just around the corner. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"20th Anniversary vacation!"
First trip to Aruba and we were very pleased with the Renaissance Resort. We had the all inclusive package and the restaurant choices were excellent. The high light of this resort is their private island with beautiful lagoon beach, restaurant and accommodations.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel if you like to shop"
Great being above the mall. No mini bar. There is no privacy in the rooms unless you close the blackout curtains. Small and limited complimentary toiletries. Not enough wall sockets to plug things in. No in room wifi. Overall a good hotel, but nothing amazing.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Stay on the Family side!!"
We visited on on honeymoon and booked the Marina side. The room was small and there was construction going on outside, definitely not what we wanted. After speaking with the front desk they stated we could upgrade for an extreme amount, which was unacceptable to us. We ran into the general manager by accident and after explaining our situation, he upgraded […] us at no charge to the other side with the private beach and it was AWEsome! No complaints after that! "Very nice eclectic adult resort."
The Renaissance is located in downtown Aruba in the middle of all that the happy island has to offer. It is surrounded by many restaurants, shops and upscale stores. There is a casino inside the hotel but my favorite was the outside heated pool that sits on a landing where you can actually see the cruise ships dock. The view is wonderful. The rooms […] were small but the bed and bedding were very comfortable. I fell instantly asleep each night. The hotel is nice for an adult only resort and the lobby area was very eclectic and lively with a huge wall screen where videos are played at night. In the evening the lobby is lit with many blue lights around the pool, bar & eatery. I like to shop, so I was thrilled that the mall was attached to the hotel. The only downside to this resort is that there was no beachview or free wifi in the rooms. I was not able to walk out onto the beach each day and evening. instead, we were provided with daily boat rides to a private beach where pink flamingos roamed. I did enjoy the ride and the beach. "Average at best"
It was overall good, if you like being down town and not directly on the beach. They have there own private Island wich was nice. But when you had thought you booked the Raddison and you end up at the Renasance not much of a comparison on this island. Go to the radison. Food was average at best. Hotel is ok. Marina hotel need major bathroom remodling. Tub lamination is chipping, caulk is coming off and molded. Everyone I spoke to had the same complains. "Not the place for me!"
The room smelled musty and the bedspread was wet. The bed sheets would not stay tight under us and it was a terrible nights sleep. The water turned cold in the shower after just a few minutes and we had a view of the inside of the building and starbucks while on the beautiful island of Aruba.Genuine Expedia guest review
Having traveled extensively in the Caribbean and stayed at many resorts, we found this property to be very dated, small and inconvenient. Room was small and bathroom was just way too small - not even a stand-alone shower.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Would not recommend at this time!"
This hotel was a major disappointment. The lobby and public areas were beautiful, but the room was extremely old and dated. There was mold in the bathtub area, and it was rusting. Most of the views this hotel offered were of the lobby or construction ongoing in the city. We chose this because of the adults only area, as we were here for our anniversary, […] and we have stayed at other Marriott hotels before, but this was not up to the usual standards. We had heard it was to be remodeled in the next year or 2, hopefully sooner. On the plus side, we did ask to be moved to the suites across the street, and they were very nice and gave us a nice ocean view room...and charged us for the upgrade...not cheap! This hotel was much nicer, but still could use some improvements, such as attentiveness and speed of services, but that could be Island time. The pool bar/restaurant mgr was very nice, and sincerely was concerned about our opinions. Overall, would not recommend the adult Renaissance adult tower, suites were nice, but pricey. "The Renaissance is a happening spot"
The experience was a solid 4! loved the hotel but it is a little old and well it is what it is a nice 4 star hotel.. I think the staff maximizes the existing structure as well as anyone could based on the facility...You will not be disappointed unless you want a posh resort, this place is as close to posh as possible without major room renovations...The […] shopping amazing, the boat to the private beach super cool as it comes right into the lobby..the Blue super awesome with the infinity pool..The only negative to this hotel is it's proximity to the nicer beaches about an 11 dollar cab ride each way...but let's be honest here that is the only bad thing, which is really not that bad sense the private beach for the hotel is very easily accessed by the boat that shows up all day every 15 minutes... We will be back for sure we loved Aruba!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
