BEST WESTERN BARABOO INN - West Baraboo

We enjoyed our stay. We selected it due to its location for our plans in and around Baraboo. The free breakfast was great since you could pick off of a menu instead of the normal cold food type breakfast. Rooms were very clean but the walls were thin. We would stay here again next time we decide to stay in this area.

We stayed 3 nights location very good -just out side of the dells a lot to do in area, There were three outstanding staff we had all three days Daniel at front desk , Erin waitress and Bar manager were all so friendly helpful went out of their way to make your stay comfortable .I loved the breaksfast vouchers at the resturant you could order off menu […] , full hot meal .Have family in area and still a lot to se and do we will stay there again. This was my third stay at this hotel. The first 2 times were excellent. I am thinking they are under new management. The couch in the suite is broken down and not fit to sit on. The decorative pillows were filty and ripped. The jacuzzi tub was dirty and when the jets were turned on, it was black. The tub was dirty and since I was'nt sure it it was just […] stained, I felt it and it was dirt that was'nt cleaned. The shower curtain was very dirty too. I would not stay there again. We also dined in their restaurant *Bonzos* The food was terrible. At almost $10.00 for a hamburger, I would not expect it to be a frozen burger with fillers. The waitress was awful. She never came back to our table to ask how everything was or to see if we wanted another drink. I had to stand at the bar to get our check. Very bad service and I could even understand if they were busy. There were 3 tables and 3 people at the bar. the waitress spent all her time chatting with friends that were seated at one of the tables. I would not recommend this hotel to anybody. over all it was a nice week-end.The staff were very friendly and helpful.The only problem I had was that the HBO channel had bad reception,but didn't spend much time watching T.V.also I didn't even notify the staff about the problem.The rates were very reasonable too.

It was a very nice place to stay and we would definitely use it again. The hallways need new carpeting and the black out draperies in our room had gouges out of the back side so in the morning, light came through; they need to be replaced. The shower was NOT CLEAN. Soap was left in the shower from other quest and used shampoo bottle half empty from other guest. Told staff about it and the only response I received from them was (Oh). Will not stay at that hotel again.

The room was cleaner than the Clarion hotel rooms. The exercise equipment did not operate correctly. The air conditioning not dependable. The check-in took a long time; the clerk showed special attention to her family/friends instead of other persons awaiting requests for future reservations requests.

It was in the middle of the week. Got there, checked in, was able to work out, use the whirlpool, pool, get something to eat at the pub (huge hamburger), spend some time at the Ho Chunk and then off to bed. Nice relaxing stay.

The people are great! There were problems with bathroom drainage. I also smelled natural gas which I reported and later it went away. Beds were very back friendly, Pool was nice. I would stay again.

WE WERE VERY HAPPY WITH THE EMPLOYEES THERE. DANNY WAS GREAT , AND THE GAL ON DUTY WHEN WE GOT THERE SO NICE. WE HAD A GREAT MEAL AT THE BONGOS AND HAD FUN SINGING KARAOKE SATURDAY NIGHT. Even though our room was a no-smoking room, the room still smelled of left over smoke. We even went to the local drug store to purchase air freshener. Very noisy - the door does not seal when closed, so the noise for the hallway comes into the room. Difficult sleeping with slamming doors all night. The hotel just looks "tired" and needs some updating as it is in a great location. Our television did not work properly, nor did the remote. We got a double queen bed for 4 of us including small kid and it is quite cheap compared to other places around Dells. This is just abt 10-15 miles away from all the main attractions. Decent breakfast as well. I highly recommend this place for someone staying there for couple of nights and dont want to spend a fortune on the hotel stay

We always enjoy staying here when we travel to Baraboo. The price is reasonable and the location is great for a great weekend get-a-way. We have not used all the ammenities available. But the place is always busy and people are always smiling.

Everything about this hotel was mediocre. Lumpy bed, stained chair, mildewed wall near shower, very mediocre continental breakfast. There aren't a whole lot of hotel choices in Baraboo. The Best Western was very adequate for our needs. We stayed in what appeared to be an addition added on. There is no elevator to the second floor in this part. That wasn't a problem for us, but worth noting. The whole building had a little bit of an odor. Not sure if it was smoke and a musty smell. […] It seemed to improve somewhat after running the air for awhile. The pool area was small with a very strong chlorine smell. The water tempurature was good, but the whirlpool/hot tub was quite warm. The breakfast is the typical free breakfast buffet you'd find at a mid level hotel, fruit, cereal, pastries, and a Belgium waffle maker. For the time we were there, they did a very good job of keeping everything stocked. We did eat dinner in the hotel restaurant one day. There didn't seem to be a whole lot of other restaurant choices in town that we could see. The menu had several types of burgers and sandwiches. If I had to describe it, I guess I would call it more along the lines of a sports bar menu. The location of the hotel is convenient to both Devil's Lake State Park, which was our main purpose for the trip, and Lake Delton/Wisconsin Dells. If I were to make this trip again, I might first see if there was something a little nicer closer to the Dells as long as it wasn't too expensive. Read more

Needed to stay near the dells but didn't want pay the higher rates. Rooms were clean and didn't smell of smoke. Didn't hear any noise all night and the continental breakfast was simple, but fresh and good.
