"Convenient location, you can walk to the beach"
There's no view of the lake, but you are only a 5 minute walk to the beach at Sunapee State Park. I'm sure there are fancier (and more expensive) places in town, but this one is very nice. The rooms come with a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The bed was very comfy, and the bathroom is a good size. The staff at the front desk was very friendly […] and helpful. Pretty niceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The lodge was nice, clean and full of helpful staff. I had a shirt that was ruined by the iron in the room. The staff apologized, provided us with a new iron, and adjusted the price of the room, all without prompting.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great lake experience"
Friendly staff. Clean & COmfortable rooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
After the first night we had to leave notes to get more cups, tissues and toilet paper and to vacuum the rug. also the towels were very old.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, mediocre room"
Great location, good price, but the room upon entering looked as if kids had rolled all over the beds. The bathtub was dirty. The second day, after the room had been cleaned, it looked like they had kicked the pillows to the top of the bed into a pile. I've never seen anything like it. My 12 year old could have done a better job. The staff was nice […] enough. This place serves the minimal purpose for a budget hotel. They should do a little quality control around their housekeeping staff. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Easy to find"
Very quiet, peaceful spot. Alayna at check-in was very nice and helpful. There is no cellphone service. Had to drive 3 miles into Sunapee to send and receive texts. The store across the street closes early. Room was good size and comfortable, although bed was too soft, but that happens a lot with BW.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Staying on business"
The room was clean and comfortable except the bed sagged a bit in the middle (new mattress needed?). With that said, I slept throughout the night. Breakfast was average yet acceptable for this type of hotel (overlooking the pancake machine being out of order and the absence of butter for toast/muffins). Alayna (front desk) was incredibly helpful and […] friendly. Very nice stay. Thank you. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Very happy with the choice to stay here. Everything clean and neat. The staff were by far the best I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Went above and beyond to help us during an emergency. Will definitely stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great new hotel"
Nice clean rooms, great serviceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We liked the hotel except for finding a dirty sock on the floor (that did not belong to us). The breakfast was more than adequate. The staff was friendly and helpful and gave us recommendations for dinner.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel dirty in many common areas. Breakfast buffet choices horrible . Location great which is why we stayed there but not the best value considering the price of the room. Expected more for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I particularly liked the free food & the family feel to this place. Not the swankiest ski lodge ever but fair enough for the price. Plus they let me bring my two chihuahuas (there was a fee & Expedia did NOT reserve the appropriate "pet friendly" room I requested). Can't beat the location/proximity to Sunapee. Overall, I'd go back.Genuine Expedia guest review

The staff is very friendly and helpful at this Best Western. The pool was clean as was the rest of the hotel. Our room was clean, no complaints for the money. We had a good deal for one night. Great location for skiing at Sunapee. Good Italian meal for dinner just a short walk through the parking lot. No need to drive anywhere after a day on the sl […] opes. "at entrance of sunapee"
stay away from restaurant right next to it.... long wait to be seated, long wait for bad food, under stafted.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was very close to Mount Sunapee with a restaurant within walking distance. Staff was very helpful. Room was consistently too warm and needed to crack the window open and keep the heat settings below normal temp. Free breakfast, although pancake maker was not working at the time, but there were other selections. The pool was very nice and warmer […] than most hotel pools. I heard they provide shuttle to the ski area but since it was still pre-season the shuttle was not available yet. Would definitely consider staying here again. "Hotel good... restaurant no so much"
I stayed here to ski at Sunapee. It was conveniently located next to the mountain, the people who ran the hotel were friendly and helpful. They used to have a continental breakfast, which is perfect for a quick bite before skiing. Now they give you a voucher for the restaurant next door. THAT was a nightmare!!! It took over an hour from when we entered […] till food was served, cutting way into our skiing time. And when the food came it was terrible. I had an egg sandwich... how can you mess that up, right? The "eggs" (really more like 1/2 an egg) were scrambled and ice cold with unmelted cheese on it. If you chose to stay at the hotel, do yourself a favor and don't be tempted to use the breakfast voucher (dinner was no better at that restaurant, by the by). The egg sandwich on the mountain is faster and tastes far better. Otherwise, the hotel was fine for what it was. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was fantastic with some recent remodeling. The suite was roomy and well decorated. There was a problem with the heating system that made hat made the room very uncomfortable. There was no heat and it's late October in NH. Heat is necessary. Though the room was very nice the lack of heat ruined the stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"stay off first floor"
first floor rooms are damp.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Sunapee lake lodge was perfect for our 3 night stay to visit my family nearby. I'm from the area originally, and its in a lovely location - at the foot of Mt. Sunapee and centrally located to reach other areas. We had a 2 queen room on the first floor. I asked about getting a king, but they said there were only ~8 of those rooms in the hotel and they […] were a bit more / night (which we didn't think would be worth it). Our room was great and quiet. There was a little bit of peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, but that was the only noticeable wear and tear. Everything else was very comfortable. The gal at the desk was terrific and very helpful. A continental breakfast was available (the usual muffins & cereal + machine produced pancakes), surprisingly, the coffee wasn't bad (our expectations were low). Also, I wasn't able to book online when I tried to do fewer than 3 days b/c they have a policy in the winter of a 3 day minimum (I found out when I called), which I didn't see listed either on Hotels.com or SLL's website - fyi. Room was clean, the bed was comfortable, had a refrig and microwave. The breakfast was a lot better than other places I've stayed, with a reasonable variety and various size tables so our large group could sit together. The hotel staff was very courteous. We would definitely stay again.
"Just don't stay here"
08/24/14 KYandBD Cambridge, Massachusetts
We spent one night at this motel in early August, and we will never stay here again. We stayed with our dog and felt like we were banished to the basement since all the dog friendly rooms are on the 'ground' level. We were next to a conference room and across from the pool, so it was fairly quiet. However, the tiled floors felt sticky, and the bed cover had dog fur on it. The room was somewhat small, and having a random recliner in the middle of the room didn't help. I typically walk around barefoot but not after the sticky tiles and seeing a few spiders in the bathroom. The only good thing about the room was the refrigerator and microwave. The staff was highly unhelpful and borderline rude, except for Alayna who worked the mid-day shift. She actually seemed to care and shared basic information that was not provided to me during check-in. The other women I encountered couldn't even give me basic directions or tell me about the area. Upon check-out, I wasn't even asked how my stay was. She simply didn't care. The breakfast wasn't great - a few pieces of old fruit, stale store-bought pastries, and questionable frozen Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches.
"Old with a very bad breakfast"

The hotel is clean, but has many other poor qualities. The pool room was very cool so I had a very hard time getting out of the pool. The pool towels are way too small, so take at least 2-4 towels. The breakfast is terrible. They have decent muffins, but they really don't have much else. The breakfast is the worst part of the hotel. The hotel rooms smell really bad and has old spotty carpets and wallpaper. The hotel is more like a motel. If you want to stay in Mount Sunapee, try to get a room in the hotel across the street.

Would certainly stay there again if I'm in the area. The room was clean & and the bed was heavenly soft. Once you were inside your room could not hear any outside noises. The staff was super friendly and helpful, which always makes for a nicer trip.
"Less than expected"
07/03/14 Ashley S Quebec City, Canada
The Sunapee Lake Lodge was a disappointment. For 150$/night we were given a basement room that stunk of cigarettes (although claimed to be smoke free!) and dogs, as well as a Pak'n'Play for my 8 month old daughter that smelled of urine! The room was not carpeted, which would not have been an issue except that my daughter's crying in the night echoed! We were scheduled to stay two nights but left after the first night to stay elsewhere. It was not at all what we expected for the price.
"Good in some ways, bad in others"
01/05/14 HadleySJ Cambridge, Massachusetts
Can't beat the proximity to the ski area, the heated indoor pool that is great for kids, and the fact that this lodge welcomes dogs (in a subset of rooms with tile floors). The staff member who was in charge of the breakfast was very friendly and seemed to care about doing her job well. Now for the bad: a lot of little things that make a big difference aren't maintained. For example: coffee at the morning breakfast ran out, no clean towels in the exercise room OR in the pool area, dirty bathrooms by the pool. Also, no spare rolls of toilet paper or boxes of tissues in the room despite both being very low at check in. There is a sledding hill at the back of the lodge, which was nice until a group of snowmobiles came tearing through. Another problem back there was the aggressive, off leash dog that seemed to belong to the irresponsible people who live in the house just above the lodge. The snowmobilers and the dog both put a damper on trying to enjoy the sledding hill with young kids.

My family and I spent three nights for a ski holiday in late December 2013. The lodge was just what we wanted - clean, comfortable and great access to Mt. Sunapee via reliable shuttle service. What most impressed me was the friendly, helpful, courteous staff. They were so accommodating, we felt we were being treated like friends or family. That's what resonated with me the most about the places we visited at & around Mt. Sunapee, including the ski area - everybody is so friendly. We love it there, and will be coming back many more times. Jim H. Westchester Cty., NY
"Wonderful and comforting stay!"

I stayed @ Sunapee Lake Lodge in July of 2012 & 2013! The accommodations were wonderful, the service very friendly & comfortable! I was in a bind stemming from another local lodge in which I was to stay!! This lodge turned out to be a NIGHTMARE & I couldn't be accommodated there & had to leave! I immediately contacted Sunapee Lake Lodge and they totally sympathsized with me & the situation! They had a room ready for me within a half an hour's notice & even remembered me from my previous stay!! During my 2013 stay they helped me out tremendously!! They bent over backwards & catered to all of my needs! I felt very safe there, since I was traveling solo!! I thank all the staff & management on an exempl ary job & would only reccommend this hotel for anyone's future lodging needs!! You won't be disappointed!! Sincerely, Renee Ondrasek,

We traveled to this hotel on Thanksgiving Day, to spend the holiday with my family. #1. We drove by the 3 times, even though the GPS said you have arrived. Finally I looked at the paper I had with me & saw the Loge information. This hotel had taken down their Best Western sign, cause as of Dec. 1 2013 they will no longer be affilated with Best Western. It had snowed slightly & the parking lot was icy. The staff was nice, I asked about breakfast, continental style only. The clerk said they had Jimmy Deans--none to be found. The room was nice though small, the queen beds are very small. The top of the lamps had dust about a 1/4 inch thick. I would recommend for one night only, no more than that.
