BEST WESTERN RIVERS EDGE - Red River

The room was a lot nicer than anticipated, we ended up getting a room with a full size kitchen in it unexpectedly. The room was very clean, the beds not too firm, plenty of towels, and the shower/water pressure/shower head was amazing! The front desk was helpful in giving us information on the surrounding area but when we called later in the evening […] to inquire about charing a PPV movie to our room the gentleman that answered the phone interrupted me before I even asked the question and was very rude. He was also the same gentleman that had prepared our breakfast that morning and had the personality of a rock. Speaking of breakfast, the bagels were literally rock hard and the coffee was from clearly from the night before because it was literally cold. Breakfast opened an hour later than the guest book and the website stated and when we arrived, right as it opened because we had been waiting since the original time thought, he wasn't even prepared for guests to arrive. That was quite annoying. But, the comfort of the room and the view quite made up for that little annoyance. Especially at the price that we got it. We will be coming back for sure. Though don't expect to be very entertained by the town if you go in April or the beginning of may because there was absolutely nothing going on, maybe if you frequent red river you already know that but we don't and we didn't. Everything was as you would expect. The front desk does close at 8 so don't arrive to late. The hotel is next to the river so you can see the ski lift and deer etc.

Accidentally booked into this hotel on a trip through nearby Taos (I thought it was actually IN Taos), but decided to let the 'mistake' play out. Best mistake I ever made. Room overlooked the (creek-sized at this point) Red River and the base of a chair lift at the nearby ski resort. This hotel is adjacent to the main ski lift for the Red River Ski Area and was a very convenient place to stay for our family ski vacation. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The beds were comfortable. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Room was ok. Newly remodeled bathroom. Nice tv and bed. Lot of outlets. Exterior was old and dirty. Badly in need of paint. Grimy and rundown. No lights by head of bed. Called front desk and had to leave Vm. No callback. Called again. Said housekeeping would bring up. Never got.

This is a very nice, clean Best Western located right on the river & is walking distance to everything. Our overnight summer stay was great! I wish they would begin their breakfast at 6am instead of 7am, but that was my only complaint. However, they fix breakfast for you - that was a treat!Loved the stay, would definitely stay here again!

Everyone from the front desk to the maids were extremely friendly. The location to the ski lift was fantastic. Could not have been more than a minute or two walk to the lift chair. When we broke for lunch all we had to do was drop our skis and walk back to the room eat lunch and didn't have to fight all the lunch crowds at the base of the mountain. […] We will never stay at another place other than the Best Western at Rivers Edge when we go back. I found that the room was very nice and very clean; however, we did not receive any towels or the trashcans were not emptied on the next day when we were out shopping. We did not hang the do not disturb sign on the door so we figured at least the towels would be replaced with clean ones and the trash would be carried out, but it wasn't. I was also not […] happy that I clicked on a kitchenette room and they did not tell me at the time of my reservations that they were remodeling those particular rooms so we did not have a stove as we thought we would instead we had to do everything in a microwave. The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. I think his name was Mike. He gave us great advice on places to eat, which trails to go on, and where to hang out at night. The free breakfast in the morning was a great perk -- You could order eggs and waffles and they would make it for you in the kitchen. You also had a choice of bagels, […] toast, cereal, coffee, juice. The rooms were also nice -- big screen HD TVs, you could easily plug in your laptop with an HDMI or RGB cable if you wanted to watch a movie. The skii lifts are very conveniently located next to the hotel, you dont even need a car/van. We will definately be coming back here next year for snowboarding. Read more

Yes, it was on the river, but there was no distinction on booking whether the room was facing river or street. Stairs to outside room ran through an inside laundry area. Noise from room to room was greater than average. However, for breakfast, there was an attendant who actually offered to make eggs or fix waffles, which was nice.

The location was actually fabulous! I had to continually ask my self, "Is this really a Best Western Hotel"? "How much did we pay"? The price was perfect for the accomadations provided and the location made the visit to that much more of a fantastic purchase. Kudo's to the owner's and the town!!!
