Comfort Inn Gaslamp Convention Center - San Diego

The room was stuffy with no air circulation. I open the window and there is literally a mop sitting against the screen. I was kept in a room next to where house keeping leaves all their carts and equipment. Upon opening the window the room started smelling worse. We were woken up early in the morning by the staff getting their carts and setting up for […] the day. I don't blame the cleaning staff for preparing for their work day however that room location is horrible and hotel management needs to reconsider their set up or at least discount that room (room 126). We were extremely dissapointed and considering the price we paid it was just ridiculous. The staff at the front desk weren't attentive and very aloof. However, the cleaning staff folds the toilet paper in a really cool way and we made the best of our anniversary weekend downtown. Read more

We were only there for one night, but upon arrival, our keys didn't work and neither did our remote. When we finally got a key to the room, we were amazed at how truly tiny the rooms are. The sink, microwave and coffee maker are a foot from the bed and not in a separate bath area. The front desk clerk wasn't all that helpful in replacing the batteries […] in our remote, so when we came in later that night, had to ask someone else who finally helped us out. This is fine for a one night stopover, but as my husband said, I think we've checked into the Discomfort Inn. Bed was small and soft. At least it was quiet as our room was in the back with a view of the bldg behind us. Breakfast was included but when we tried our key on the way down (just in case!), it AGAIN didn't work. As someone who spends 100+ nights per year in a hotel room, this place was just what you expect from a Comfort Inn. The lobby is small, the room is average. They provide soap, towels and toilet paper in a reasonably clean room.

Second time in 2 weeks. Great rate and right in middle of Gaslamp. Small but comfortable and clean room. The gentleman at the front desk during day is wonderful. Some of comments are accurate: the sink is right next to the bed, kind of odd but so what. The window a/c units are noisy and its hard to control temp, my only complaint. I'll stay again.

This is an older hotel with smaller rooms, but well located and well priced. I don't think more than two people would fit in a double. Hotel had free, decent wireless. First floor room across from maids laundry...noisy. Wash basin and sink is next to the bed and incorporated with the fridge and microwave, not a separate bathroom. A/c unit very noisy. Parking is an extra $18 dollars for overnight. Good location to gas lamp district.

Rooms are old, tiny, poor ventilation and even the refurb couldn't help. My room had supposedly been refurbed but had not been painted and still had old tub, bad lighting and useless ac. Rooms next to me were still under construction and very noisy. Would not stay there again.

We chose this hotel because of the type of breakfast they served, that they had laundry facilities and because of their location. The bed was only a double not a queen. There was an air conditioner in the window so we were unable to close it and we heard EVERY noise out side. It made it very hard to sleep.
