The best of 3 recent hotels we have stayed in Stratford on theatre visits. Pleasant restaurant, good decor. Very comfy nights sleep. Convenient for theatre and all amenities.

Enjoyed the stay, but took a while to check out !The staff at reception seemed more interested in taking room bookings.

The hotel is very conveniently located for the centre of the city, local historical attractions and especially the Shakespere theatres that Stratford is so rightly proud of. On our visit, (a warm May day) we found the rooms rather hot and only small windows to facilitate additional ventilation.

The Grosvenor in Stratford was clearly once a lovely building and could be again with some updating. The decor was generally tired though it has to be said that our room was very clean and quite well presented. However, our room was like a sauna - we had to leave the windows open and the ceiling fan on all night to keep it cool enough. Which would not have been too bad had we not been situated next to one of the generators which came on at 7am on Sunday morning. With a rather unimpressive reception from some of the staff also (if the person who checked us in was not a trainee then it would be even more worrying), its safe to say we will not be returning.

A very good hotel. The hotel is within two minutes walk of the town centre and its historic buildings. The hotel itself was very clean and tidy.The staff were all very helpfull and friendly. We will be stopping there again if in the area. We have never had a bad stay at Best Western but this is proably the best.

Check in greeting friendly and efficient, but was taken aback next day when told by a staff member that there was no hotel safe in which I could store jewellery! As a result I ended up carrying it in my bag all day, as it would then at least be covered by personal insurance. On leaving I spoke to a different member of staff who was genuinely stunned and bewildered that I had been told there was no safe. There is definitely one available, and not just in the executive rooms as the other staff member had claimed. So if you find yourself being denied safe storage insist on speaking to another member of staff or the manager. Hopefully this confusion has been cleared up and no one else will trip over it. Location of hotel was terrific being a five minute walk for the able-bodied from the centre of town. As we stayed during the week parking was not an issue, but leaving on Friday evening the car park was at capacity. Room comfortable and very clean. We had a lovely little balcony on which to sit in the sun. The only problem with the room itself was the noise of the bathroom fan which stayed on for a good 20 minutes after leaving the bathroom, and was very loud at 2am. We didn't eat at the hotel so I can't comment on the food; we decided it was so close to town there was little point. Better to eat at some of the many restaurants or cafes in Stratford, although the smell of the breakfasts wafting up to our room (we were right above the kitchen) was enticing.

Hotel was well positioned at the bottom of the High St very handy for the pubs and visitor attractions. Well within walking distance. The staff were very helpful and friendly the only problem was the car park which was too small for the amount of guests staying. Would definately stay again at this hotel

Very large room by European standards. Bed was very comfortable. Only a fitted sheet provided on bed though. Bathroom was large but a bit difficult to heat because of it's size. Overall it was a very good deal at an above average hotel. The young male night desk clerk was very nice. Carried our bags to the room while my husband parked the car! Quite a change.

Although the hotel was pleasant, the room was very small. Also, if you have any accessibility issues at all, whether it be a physical handicap, age, bringing small children and all their requirements, be sure to let them know ahead of time, as there are a few rooms that do not require a lot of stir climbing between sections (ours was up, down, then up again). There are no lifts or ramps at all, even to come in the front entrance.
