"Couldn't have asked for much more"
Staff was very accommodating. Room was very good for an economy hotel. Kuerig coffee machine inside the room was an excellent addition. Couldn't have asked for more out of a free continental breakfast (scrambled eggs, bagels, sausage, make your own waffles, muffins, fruit, cereal, etc). Lots of restaurants and essential stores nearby. Overall, a great […] experience and the price was much more appealing than others in the area. I would definitely use this hotel if I ever have to stay in the Princeton area again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice place. Comfy room and restaurant/bar attached"
The room was tastefully decorated. Bed was very comfortable. Room was cold when we checked in but heat warmed the room quickly when we turned it on. (note: I really think they should have had the heater on prior to our arrival) After visiting and shopping at nearby stores we went to the restaurant/lounge adjacent to the hotel called Pure. It has a […] high end feel but was not pompous. We had drinks and appetizers. All were great. Nice setting. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Broken window in room - very dingy- halls are dark, doors are not safe. Tiles in bathroom cracked. Hair dryer did not work. Cleaniness of room was good. Would not stary there again, I was on business and paying for the room myself. I was horrible. Gentlemen checking in very nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Clarion Hotel Palmer Inn I'm sorry to hear that you weren't happy with your accommodations. Thanks for the compliments, though.
"Not bad for the money"
Stayed in two different rooms on two different occasions (week to week for work) Very clean rooms, maid service is thorough and trustworthy. Room was cleaned and sheets changed daily, maid did move items, and tried to make sundries neat and arranged as if you were at home on the counter. Not one dime was missing out of my habit of tossing change on […] the counter, although you could tell it was moved for cleaning. The rooms are 50/50 on what you get. My first stay had a keurig machine and a broken sink handle and a bad seal on the bottom of the door so you could feel a draft from the outside. The second room has a coffee pot and a very poorly functioning shower, very low pressure at the showerhead because the faucet diverter is faulty. However, both rooms had very comfortable beds, several pillows of different firmness, clean linens. Staff is friendly and thorough, breakfast buffet is what you have come to expect at a mid level hotel. Hot (yet not wet) scrambled eggs, waffle maker, bagels, toast, muffins, juice and coffee. All in all if you are visiting Princeton and don't want to pay Princeton prices for a mid level hotel, this is the place to stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"All basics OK, could move up if better maintained"
Staff friendly and responsive. Restaurant and bar OK, useful in case of time pressures or bad weather. Hallway carpets are filthy - how expensive can it be to clean them more often?Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed here for one night in August, 2013. Due to the divided roadway and medians, driving around the area for dinner was a little bit challenging. The rooms were adequate. Nothing special. Our room faced the pool and I was concerned that since we would not have an internal hallway that it might be noisy, but it was not. We woke in the morning and […] saw someone cleaning the pool. The swimming pool bottom was dirty with green algae. Breakfast was the standard continental breakfast that no one really wants to eat. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not worth the cost. Pretty gross."
Didn't seem very secure. One of the external doors didn't have any locking mechanism. All doors into the facility were left unlocked until midnight. Run down. First staff guy was not very interactive. Hardly talked or looked up. Later guy was better. Just not at all worth the money. Gross and scary.Genuine Expedia guest review
"I paid for more and received less."
I wouldn't go there again. It was at least 25% higher than it had any right to be.The hotel had such a small sign I passed it twice. The room had small half pillows very uncomfortable to sleep on. There was only 2 per bed. I slept poorly that night. The tub/shower was little dirty. I expected better at that price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The good, the bad and the ugly: The good - breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatos, toast, yogurts.... and make your own waffles was good! The breakfast room had nice chairs - not the typical awful metal rimmed stack chairs, and lwindows looking outside to an interior patio. Also good was our room: spacious, neat and clean. Love the big […] full size mirror in the bathroom. Appreciated the two computers/internet available for use in the business center. The bad and the ugly: common area carpets appeared to be worn and filthy, and there were water stains on the acustic drop tile ceilings. A problem in our room and common areas (and with lots of other hotels these days) is dim lighting - this was especially noticable in the interior hallways. Exterior doors would "stick" - we had to bump the bar that releases the latch hard with our backsides to get them to open. No ice in the ice machine. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A disappointing stay"
We knew this hotel under previous ownership and stayed there because of its convenience to Princeton center. Alexander Road leading to central Princeton can be reached by a back road eliminating the need to cross Rte 1. However, the hotel is run down. The carpets in the Lobby and Hallway and old and dingy. The breakfast area is unattended and is generally […] unappetizing. They ran out of milk- the eggs were most mixed with the meats-etc. The Shopping Center next door is very convenient with a Whole Foods Market, several restaurants and a Marshall's. If the hotel were renovated with a better staff, it would be excellent because of its location. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"not a good choice"
while the hotel was in a convenient location for our stay-the hotel was tired looking and not in the best of condition seriously in need of a complete overhaul--while the staff was nice and friendly the hotel room were not up to hotel.com standards i depend on your choices and this one was not a good one-Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Better than most low cost motel/hotel. Breakfast buffet was very good. The central patio was nice but bar/stools were broken/worn out. Need updating.. Bath/shower was old and needs updating.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel needs some updating"
The whole place had an odd odor of mustiness about it, which took away from the overall comfort level, since I kept feeling that the place really needs some steam cleaning and renovation. The carpets on the lobby stairs were really dirty. The room look out onto an enclosed hallway, so there is really no fresh air in the rooms and make it not very private. […] We were only in town for the night, so that was fine, but wouldn't stay any longer. The beds were comfortable and mattresses firm. Room size was spacious, but dark. "Not bad at all"
Good bang for the buck, clean, centrally located, ample parking, cold AC, fairly large rooms. Didn't like the breakfast but that's probably just 'picky' me.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The reviews are right"
The windows that look into the hall way are weird. We could hear everything going on above us, which was annoying. All of the reviews pretty much nail the negatives. Also, the continental breakfast left something to be desired. The positives are the location and the helpful staff.Genuine Expedia guest review
We stayed just one day for a lacrosse tournament at Princeton. The rooms were good size with a Kurig coffee maker. The layout puts the parking lot close to all lower rooms so we did not have to lug our equipment all over. The pool was enjoyed by the boys as soon as we arrived. The breakfast was simple, you typical one. And started early enough for everyone […] to eat and be in our way. I will say the ceilings were rather thin so we could hear the people above us at one point but it was not bad. A good deal for the money and location met our needs. Met expectations. I was worried it would be noisy as it is very close to Route 1, but the room, on the back, was quiet enough. Just some noise due to first floor location close to the swimming pool. Breakfast was adequate.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice amenidities: pool, fitness and breakfast."
The staff was helpful and very polite. My air conditioner did not work in the room. I did not say anything because I checked in very late. Also, the address was incorrect for my GPS and I was brought to a house at first. I called and was directed to a different address. The room had a terrible smell on arrival that did not dissipate with the air conditioner or fan running. There were stains on the carpet and on the one bed spread. "Weird hotel on US1 in Princeton, NJ"
To get to our room, we had to walk about 200 yards down a smelly hallway, past the windows of rooms that opened only into this hallway - no windows opened to the outside in these rooms. Our room was clean and nice enough in appearance, but the TV didn't work properly - several stations didn't work at all, including the golf channel on which we had counted […] to watch the end of the Players Championship when we arrived on Sunday evening. The front desk staff said they could do nothing - only the "big Boss" knew how to reset the dish network equipment. We found out the next day that the "big Boss" would be away for a week. No effort was made to change that situation. Also, some of the tv equipment didn't work in other ways. Wireless worked fine. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The address of the hotel is not what you need to put in the GPS. Their website does not say this. If you stay here, call and get the address you should use. They stay was alright. I accidently booked a smoking room and they were able to switch me to a non-smoking after one night. The rooms could use some maintenance here and there. The room was nice, though the square pillows were bizarre. Breakfast was good (though I could have done without fox news every morning), The bar is way overpriced even by east coast standards. The stay was nice, overall. The staff at the desk were helpful, but it was not a busy day. We needed some toiletries and they provided them with no problem. Were patient when we asked for directions and needed something copied/printed. The breakfast was good standard fare, eggs, sausage, waffles, cereals, fruit, pastries. "Very Nice Experience"
I enjoyed staying at the hotel, although I did find it a little confusing getting to my room because the signs with the room numbers could have been alittle clearer than they were. I am a female who stayed by myself and although my room was clean and comfortable, I did not like the fact that my room opened to a courtyard which was open to the parking lot. Room had a musty smell and was outdated. Cushions on sofa were ripped and torn. Television, while satellite, was extremely limited in choice and tv was old.
