"Amazing location and amenities, but room needs TLC"
Many positives! Amazing location with ample beaches and 5 swimming pools in San Diego inlet. Barefoot Bar & Grill on-site was great. Staff was excellent. Boat rental on-site was excellent with a wide variety of watercraft. Close to Seaworld and other San Diego attractions. The negative was that our room needed TLC - eg. the sink was ancient, cracked, […] and very worn, the bathroom doorframe had warped and the door needed a shove to close, and the bathroom was overall showing it's age (40 years?). Bottom line is that you come here for the amenities, and not for the room. I LOVED IT and want to come back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Paradise Point great for families"
I highly recommend Paradise Point Resort as a family friendly destination. Get a Bayside bungalow and lounge at the beach or one of the pools, then have a fire on the beach at sunset. Sea World is close by and only a little further is the San Diego Old Town, Gaslamp District and the waterfront where you can tour the Midway or catch a ferry to Coronado […] Island. "Nice property next to the beach"
Had a great family vacation at Paradise Point. It is a beautiful property with lots of fun things to do for the whole family, the only thing I found disappointing was that there was no seating available at the beach.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Paradise Point Resort & Spa Monica, we appreciate you taking the time to write a review on Paradise Point. We’re so glad you found our 44-acre island to be the perfect spot for your family vacation. Thank you for acknowledging our beautiful grounds, comfortable rooms, and array of activities, which we work hard to provide for our guests. Unfortunately, our options for beach seating are limited since all Mission Bay beaches are public. We apologize for any inconvenience, but we hope you were still able to enjoy some time on the sand. It was truly our pleasure having you as a guest and we hope to welcome you back again in the future. Best, David Hall, General Manager
"Great weekend getaway"
We live in Beverly Hills and always stay in 5 star resorts. However, for a two hour drive, this resort is very convenient and fun for the kids even though it is not a 5 star but I have always loved it and it is one our favorites.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice place to stay"
Hotel staff was very friendly. The grounds are beautiful. We loved buying some firewood and having a campfire by the bay. The $32 fee for parking your car near your unit seems a little bit overboard.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect location, could improve customer service"
Room was not ready by 4:00 pm check in. Restaurant staff was slow. Beds are not the most comfortable. Pool side could be monitored for dirty towels left on seats and twice bins were out of towels for the evening. Nice grounds, very tropical look, a lot of greenery and flowers. Rooms were very spacious bungalows. Convenient reserved parking. Perfect […] location with close access to Sea World. Overall pleasant experience. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good pool for kids"
The property is very nice and the pools were great for my kids. The room itself could use a bit of rehab but we enjoyed our stay. Overall...my family like it and we would go back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel for kids and family to spend time"
I don't even know where to begin! The hotel upon arrival gave a perfect look as I was surrounded by nature when I drove through the main entrance, I felt like the hotel was built on a rainforest. The pool and service was amazing and although the restaurants were quite pricey, the food was well worth it and left me wanting more!Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Paradise Point Resort & Spa Thank you for reviewing your experience at Paradise Point. "Bungalows were a little dated but mostly clean."
Our room was to far from the actual beach but nice enough. The bed skirts needed washing but the sheets were clean and the room was clean and spacious. Park was high and you don't have a spot in front of your room. Very convenient to SeaWorld, Old Town, Seaport Village and Gas light District. The food at the high end restaurant was very good and the […] service was good. Several activities for families with small children to do. Response by Paradise Point Resort & Spa Hi JoAnn, thank you for writing a review on your recent stay at Paradise Point Resort & Spa. We’re so glad to hear you enjoyed our unique bungalow-style rooms, convenient location, waterfront dining and family activities. We look forward to welcoming you and your family back the next time you’re looking to escape Las Vegas! Best, David Hall, General Manager
Loved the lush vegetation and the bungalo style of rooms. U feel like u are in a tropical country. We had 2 rooms and they were going to put us far away from each other- that took some work but we got 2 together - finally. The staff were nice enough but Maritza at the front desk went above and beyond to help us out with tix. But the parking fee is irritating […] and there is a resort fee too. It all adds up to $50.00 a day over and above the room rate is not appealing. U can have bonfires on the beach, great pools and jacuzzis all around. There are mini fridges but no MWs. We had a great time overall! Only had breakfast there and it was good with a waterfront location. Kids loved feeding the fish and looking for the shark! Had lunch poolside which took a little while as they were understaffed but they made it right. Overall - We had a great family time at a great resort. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Paradise Point Resort & Spa We appreciate your candid review on your recent stay at Paradise Point Resort & Spa. We’re delighted that Maritza was able to accommodate your party with adjoining rooms. We do our best to accommodate these types of guest requests, but it can be a bit more difficult during high occupancy times like summer. It sounds like you were able to take advantage of everything our island resort offers, including five pools, a variety of dining options, beach bonfires and the chance to feed our resident ducks and fish. We hope that our friendly staff, unique island location, and these types of activities and amenities unique to Paradise Point bring you back for another stay in the near future. Air conditioner was broke and rooms had no windows so it was pretty stale in the room.... "Great place but hidden charges."
I loved the resort and got a good deal but because they charge so much for parking ($32/day) and a resort fee ($19/night) the $40/ night savings I had to begin with made it not so good a deal. you would think the resort fee would include everything to do at the resort but it does not. There are costs for the mini golf, bikes, spa amenities like the […] sauna, and I think extra for the exercise room as well but did not use it so I am not sure. Also, no real close place to get breakfast. Breakfast at the resort is VERY pricey. Snacks at the store are too. $9.00 for a box of grahm crackers!! So while it was enjoyable and peaceful and beautiful, I felt like they nickel and dime you to death. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The bathtub had rust on the side, the desk was pulling away from the way, the curtains were loose from the bottom of the door leaving our room exposed. We knew nothing about this hotel however the photos on Hotels.com looked nice. We showed up and were amazed, it felt like we were transported to Hawaii. There is so much to do on site that we hardly left. We loved the fact that it was so kid friendly, each room had a backyard and they also had a kids pool. My daughter was in heaven. We did run into […] one problem, the AC unit in our room stopped working. We figured we were going to have to go through the hassle of moving rooms. The hotel sent people to swiich out the whole AC unit. A half hour latter we were nice and cool and back to playing. We will be back and will tell all our frineds. Thank you. "Be careful - rate spikes and fees"
Rate hikes during peak weekends and travel times are one thing -$75 worth of fees on top of a $250/nt booking is another. Also, it's a nice location and there's lots to do but it's a 3 star hotel, not a 4. overall I'd rate my experience 7/10.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Paradise Point Resort & Spa Erik, thank you for taking the time to voice your concerns about our Passport to Paradise and parking charges, which we make every effort to fully disclose at the time of booking and again at check-in. The Passport to Paradise bundles unlimited use of our most popular amenities for a fraction of the cost, and our reserved doorstep parking provides convenience and safety to our guests. We hope that these added values, along with our convenient location and array of recreation options will encourage you to stay with us again the next time you travel to San Diego. "Beautiful location, could use a little polish"
The location of the Paradise Point resort is spectacular. The bungalow rooms are lovely. The service could have used a little polish, however. In particular the Barefoot restaurant, which is the more casual of the restaurants, and the only one open for breakfast. The service was ok, but could have been a little better. More attention to detail is needed. […] For example making sure there is someone to greet, or it the host is busy that waitstaff are at least saying hello someone will be right with you. Stayed at Paradise Point with my wife and our two small children for one night. The staff was friendly and helpful and the hotel grounds are quite nice. The hotel is not new and shows some sign of age but it looks like they are working on improving the guest rooms. In fact, the first room that we checked into had just been painted so we were moved. […] In the end our bathroom was a little dated but the room was just fine otherwise. While our total cost for the room was very reasonable, the pricing policy includes a lot of extra charges (resort and parking), which seems a little unusual to me. I was aware of it going in based on other reviews so no surprises. Based on the extra charges, I expected food and beverage to be overpriced but it wasn't. A nice stay at a fun resort for families. Not a good value for the price. Room (king lanai garden) was roomy but needed repairs in the bathroom. Not at all happy about having to pay $34/night for parking. Wifi signal was too weak to use. Response by Paradise Point Resort & Spa We’re very sorry to hear that we fell short of your expectations when it came to providing you with a great vacation value. We believe our spacious bungalow-style rooms, proximity to the water, central location, and reserved doorstep parking provide great worth to our guests in the form of an elevated experience, convenience and safety that cannot be found at other area hotels. Since your stay, we have made significant upgrades to our wireless network and added more access points around the island, increasing our internet speed to up to 10 times previous rates. We invite you to return to experience these enhancements, along with the unique lush grounds and roomy accommodations you previously enjoyed. Best, David Hall, General Manager

"Awesome grounds and amenities, friendly staff"
It rained most of the time that we were staying there, so we didn't really get to take advantage of the fantastic looking pools, hot tubs and beach front, but it was still a great stay. The fire pits near the pools were also cool but smelled a little like burning plastic so we didn't hang out for too long. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. […] The fitness center was impressive for a hotel and clean. The other amenities (on site tennis courts, bocce and croquet) were also great. We didn't have time to play, but the mini golf course looked awesome too. It is a beautiful and sprawling property and the 81-step high observation tower near the lobby gives an excellent view of the many pools and ponds. We enjoyed the dinner we had at the Baleen restaurant. The brick oven pizzas that they make are delicious and very reasonably priced. My only complaint was the difficulty in getting our room dark at night, a problem I have at almost every hotel. There are blackout curtains that cover the windows and sliding doors pretty effectively, but the main room door and the skinny window next to it let in a TON of light in the morning and at night since there was a street light near our room. We piled up a bunch of couch pillows to cover most of it up, so it was only a minor irritation. Overall, a fantastic place for couples or families alike, with a good location less than a mile from SeaWorld and with good access from the airport and local highways. "Cute Resort but needs some cleaning work"
This resort was very cute and convenient. It had a great pool/lounge area that I took my kids to daily. If i didn't want to get in the pool, I would sit and enjoy some cocktails and snacks from the poolside bar. The location of this resort was great. Half a mile from seaworld. The beaches were close, downtown is a short drive away. The only problem […] I had with this resort was that when we went to our room (a garden facing villa) the room smelled musty and dank when we entered. The bathroom sink and tub areas had hair from previous guests still stuck in them. And the coffee cups had collected dust from not being used. Also, when we came back to the resort the next night, housekeeping forgot to clean our room. That was a huge disappointment. After check-out, we saw that we had to pay for parking, which wasn't listed when we booked the hotel. All in all, I don' think we will stay here again if we come back to San Diego. "Not what we expected"
My husband and I came here for our anniversary. Pictures of the hotel are deceiving, it looked NOTHING like it did on the website. This is also not a good place for a romantic getaway, all we saw where families with young children, we were virtually the only couple there. The condition of the room was comparable to a 2.5 or 3 star hotel, the paint on […] the wall was old, the walls had dings and chips in them. The shower/tub was incredibly tight and uncomfortable, the bed was in an awkward position-it was right next to the entrance into the room. The room was uncomfortable and the "porch" was cement with two plastic chairs on it. Our view was a couple of small trees and behind the trees was another parking lot. Overall, we were HIGHLY disappointed and would never recommend the hotel to friends or family. It was a complete waste of time and money. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
