Paradise Point Resort & Spa

This hotel is beautiful, it has 5 pools and the premises are stunning. Very tropical and the staff is very friendly. We went this past weekend to celebrate our our anniversary. The room was really nice, it overlooked a small lagoon. It had a microwave and a small refrigerator. It was comfortable. I think it would be nice if they upgraded the rooms a […] bit. Our bathroom has a sliding door that didn't work. And there is a moldy smell in the room. We walked around the premises, the bigger bungalows are right by the beach but everyone has access to the firepits. The staff knew about our anniversary and gave us cookies, a bottle of wine and a plate of fruit. Really nice. The barefoot bar was amazing. The food was really good! My recommendation to whoever reads this is to be prepared to spend 32 dollars a day for parking and 17 dollar resort fee per day. Read more

Grounds are very impressive, Good central location but it does still require driving most places. It was a terrific family location, we would stay again with no hesitation. One small negative is the bathroom sink and mirror are not seperate from the bedroom so if one person gets up everyone is awake.

The resort is beautiful, with lush landscaping, clean grounds, and a very comfortable room. This is an older facility (I would guess original construction in the 1960s), but has been nicely updated and cared for. Our room was on the beach of Mission Bay and we had beautiful views and a chance to watch all the activities on the bay from our patio. There […] were 2 restaurants within easy walking distance of our room; we ate breakfast at one and the service and food were both good, and the prices were about what I expected from a resort restaurant. Our server was very helpful and had great suggestions for us regarding activities and other restaurants. I would definitely stay here again. However, one caveat that I wish I had been aware of was a hefty daily parking fee, which is unavoidable if you drive your own car or fly in and rent a car. It was a very lovely property. My room however smelled musty, the curtain by my door had a very large water stain on it. Other than that my room was nice. The pool and hot tub was fantastic. The location of the hotel can't be beat. The resort is surrounded by amazing views of Mission Bay and the property itself has lots of trees and many types of birds. The proximity to the other areas of San Diego made it ideal as well.The room was clean, but we had to have maintenance come and fix the slow drain in both the sink and shower. Also, the […] sheets are not changed nightly so if you get sand in the bed, be sure to request clean sheets. The staff is exceptional, incredibly friendly and responsive, making sure we had every need met. They even gave us half price on the parking without having to ask. We will definitely go back. My wife and I flew in on an early flight. We arrived at the hotel around 9am hoping they could hold our bags but they told us we could get a room right away so we were very pleased. The room was spacious, had a fridge, nice sitting area and initially we were very pleased. The restroom was not as pleasing. The bellhops were wonderful. Maid service was good..room was very clean..the restaurants were very good.. Beautiful landscape and pools were great. The front desk people were rude and had attitude. Besides that, overall the resort was great.

This hotel / resort is close to the airport, seaworld and zoo, and it's location makes it easy to get onto the highway. The resort is a little old and certain things such as the bathroom had seen better days, and it's tranquil surrounding of ponds with water fowls does mean that it is humid and have little critters. Very satisfied with location, and where our room was located. There was a bus load of people checking it, and I nearly decided to leave, but the checkin told us to not worry. The island can hold more people then we were seeing, and it was so true. They were checked in and we never saw most of them during our stay. The resort grounds were nice however the room was not cleaned properlly upon arrival. The food selection was very minimal and the parking was over priced, we ate most of our meals outside the resort! Although the dining is pricey, the resort itself has everything to offer. Great family vacation! Teens should bring a friend, great adventures. It truly was like being in Hawaii, but without the 7 hour flight and $$$$.

Our room was dirty when we checked in with an item left under the bed and there was a bug smashed in our bed. We upgraded to a king suite which was $400.00 MORE per night than a similar hotel down the beach! Renting bikes were almost double as was all rentals at the resort compared to other hotels with exact same rentals. The spa was nice but outrageous […] too. The staff was friendly but the rest was rip off. The main pool was so cloudy I wouldn't let my kids swim in it. It had trash and even a bloody band aide floating in it. We booked this stay a while ago and only planned to stay one night. When we arrived our kids loved it so much and were so excited that we decided to extend our stay another night and pay the regular hotel rate, which was very high. When we booked the extra night, we were told that we would have to change rooms and would have to leave our first room […] by the regular check out time. We asked multiple times if there was any way we could either keep the same room or just move to the other room that night so we could avoid packing and unpacking again and we were told no. We decided to deal with it for the kids to enjoy the location. After packing up and going to the office to get the new room, the front desk staff was able to 'shuffle' some things and made us keep the same room after all. But we had already been inconvienced to pack up any way. We said we were going to run out for lunch and asked to have the room cleaned while we were gone. When we returned 2 hours later, the room still was in the middle of being cleaned so we had to wait to get settled back in. We made the staff aware of our unhappiness with the inconvience, but were basically told they were booked solid for the weekend. We were never offered anything extra or even given an apology for the inconvience we suffered. All and all, the room was great and the resort was great. But, they are too busy to care about doing anything extra. Read more

We enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to going back! Very convenient location. The only negatives were that housekeeping didn't come to our room after our first night to even see if we wanted our room cleaned or needed more towels and the tub drained poorly.
