Arrived late and the receptionist made me wait while she finished some paperwork. I was given room 413, at face value it was clean, modern and well presented. Unfortunately, the double glazed windows weren't the best quality and seemed to be a bit wonky . They wouldn't shut properly. So I had a noisy night of airplanes landing and noisy traffic. "Village Hotel, Cheadle. Jan 2013"
Room was fairly clean and comfortable, but the decor is jaded, its been the same for the last 3 years, door frame near lock damaged, which isn't good and there was no hot water in the shower. The hotle overall was very good. Consideration should be given to locations of your selecterd room in relation to the function room. We could hear the music from this room although not to extreme levels. Request a room away from the main building!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Budget hotel quality at 4 star prices"
Nice reception area, welcoming staff, reasonable breakfast and free wifi. That's about all the positives. The rest of my experience was just awful, including a door frame that looked as though it had been hacked to pieces around the lock area, lukewarm water in the bathroom, mildew covered shampoo dispenser and a shower screen with no seal that results […] in the whole bathroom floor covered in water. I had what appears to have been a faulty extractor fan in my first room which gave off a loud screeching noise. The person at reception volunteered she would come to investigate within 5 mins; 15 mins later no sign of anyone and then to find that she had gone home at the end of her shift! For the price I paid, I could have stayed at a good 4* hotel in central Manchester. The hotel appeared full, so either I was just unlucky (although I saw 2 rooms and both were shabby and with similar issues) or they are taking advantage of the fact there is little else in the area. I will be staying in Manchester in future and travelling in to Cheadle rather than staying here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A busy hotel"
I enjoyed my stay but probably would not return. Although the room was comfortable the overall experience was less than expected. On arrival the reception was crowded due to groups waiting for a pantomime to start, we could not find a seat to sit at to enjoy a coffee after a long journey. The bedroom was fine but did not like the plastic wall dispencer […] for soap. Was kept awake by disco below and then woken early by low flying aircraft which continued throughout the morning. Room was clean and comfortable, but the decor is becoming jaded as its been the same for last 3 years. Received a discounted rate which was about right for what you get. "Good value for early eaters"
Handily placed for Airport, and, unfortunately for my bank balance, a local John Lewis store! Also, appreciated being informed of 40% discount on dinner booking pre 7.00pm when not aware of this.A pleasant surprise!Genuine Expedia guest review
"OK if you need to stay in the area"
The hotel is average, but staff were all pleasant and helpful. They provided a good breakfast with plenty of choice. The room was the only real negative. We had one of the "refurbished" rooms, but the overall condition of walls and carpet was poor, and some bits of furniture light-weight and shabby. The sheets were a little too short for the bed. TV […] reception was poor - and the tv was missing an aerial lead when we arrived. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"De Vere Village Manchester"
The hotel is in the direct flight path to the Manchester International Airport. This is an extremely busy airport with flights arriving every few minutes. Low flying aircraft makes this a very noisy hotel, even at night. With no airconditioning in the rooms and windows open this just adds to the noise level. Overall the hotel is well maintained. It […] is certainly a very busy hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"You get what you pay for"
I wasn't entirely disappointed with my stay. Beds were comfortable and basically, you get what you pay for. My only serious complaint was about the level of noise coming from the function room which went on until 1am and then the partying of the guests didn't stop until 5am. No one seemed to care about the other guests in the hotel and how they were […] affected despite the fact that I made two complaints during this time. The included breakfast was fine, but the music being played whilst I ate made me feel like I was still enduring the party from the night before. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Too hot to sleep"
The hotel rooms do not have air conditioning which made them stifling and very uncomfortable to sleep in. Opening a window is not an option as the hotel is under the flight path for Manchester Airport. We were not advised that the restaurant was closed for refurb, leaving the Victory pub style bar as the only option for dinner and breakfast. Vegetarian […] options were very poor and limited. We had to wait 10 mins to be seated for breakfast and then had to use lounge chairs. They ran out of plates for breakfast and we had to wait a further 10 mins for them, then the self service toaster broke - they only had 1. The only positive was the good leisure facilities. "Not up to standard"
Despite request for twin beds, a room with a double bed had been allocated, so that took time to resolve. Room was boiling hot with no air con - a fan had been provided, but it did nothing to actually cool the room. The mattress on the bed felt like it would tip you on to the floor at any moment - really bizarre! There was no seal on the bath screen, […] which meant it leaked water all over the bathroom floor and wouldn't stay in position without being wedged with a towel. Breakfast was OK, but it took ages for the staff to bring glasses for juice and why was there nowhere to put teaspoons except for straight on to the table? The de Vere Venue nearby is better value for money and serves a better breakfast - will go back there next time. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Cheadle Village noise"
It is the world's noisiest hotel. Doors slam all hours of the night (particularly on a Saturday night when a wedding is on,) the soundproofing is poor and planes take off from the nearby airport through the night (certainly in the summer months.) And because there is no air con, it's hot enough that you need the window open so the noise of the planes […] is magnified. It's a nice enough hotel in many ways, but because of the noise issue (and we've stayed there twice now, and had the same issues,) I would only suggest staying there (on a Saturday in particular) if you are a very heravy sleeper and you take earplugs. "No family room available!"
The hotel was fine, however I booked a family room but non were available when we arrived. A comfortable experience made special by attentive staff who gave us a guided tour of the hotel and arranged taxis to the nearby Cheadle area where we had a lovely meal at Bellinis italian restaurant. "Hotel De Vere Village in Cheadle"
We chose to stay at this hotel (3.12.11) due to its gym, sauna and pool facilities. Both my Sister and my Husband refused to stay anywhere without these facilities. The location and proximity to the party we were attending were excellent. The rooms were excellent and staff on reception and at breakfast were extremely efficient. However after we checked […] out we intended to take an hour to relax in the sauna and steam room before our 2 hour drive home. We were devastated to discover that these facilities were out of order! the staff who cleaned the rooms were not very thorough and this was a great disappointment. The exorbitant charges for dogs at £15 per night per dog is outrageous. "Village Hotel, Cheadle"
We had a very bad experience at this hotel. The restaurant service was terrible with a poor menu for selection if you are vegetarian. The room cleanliness was acceptable, but the soap dispenser was broken so and there was no provision of shampoo/conditioner which I would expect at a Village Hotel. There were cobwebs on the windows which clearly had […] been there for some time. The hotel was at capacity and the receptionist admitted they couldn't cope under the pressure. "Good quality 3 star hotel, with excellent leisure facilities"
Our hotel stay was good. The hotel was nice, clean, nice decor etc. It was a little tired in the woodwork painting in places and this would make a big difference. Hotel bedroom was quite hot (in November) but at least there was a fan. Quite small bathroom, but still had everything you wanted. Service was good, at reception, bar and restaurant. Breakfast […] was great! Good selection, freshly made, all nice and plenty of it, was very impressed. I know they asked a couple to wait a few minutes for a table at breakfast and they served them with juice and pastries straight away whilst they waited - nice touch. Leisure facilities were great, 25 meter pool which was lovely and warm, the hottest jacuzzi I had ever been in! Good changing facilities etc - really happy with it all. "Good value for money"
Had read previous reviews about lack of AC in rooms but didn't think it would be a problem in early October! A warm couple of nights but there was a fan provided. Room was modern, if a little lacking in lights. We were at back which was just as well given the very loud karaoke from the bar on arrival which we could hardly hear the receptionist over.
