The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very basic and the noise from the street at odd hours of the night made resting difficult. However it is conveniently located and surrounded by bars, restaurants and cafes.

The staff is friendly and loacation is good. It's only 10 minutes walk to beach and center of barcelona. The street of hotel is very noisy specially at midnight. The breakfast of hotel is expensive but there is a cofe next to the hotel with the chip price. The room size is a little small !! and clean. at all the hotel is good.

There is a musty smell in the lobby, that even though not detected in the room, is still bothersome walking through. Breakfast was fair, nothing special or nothing bad. Location was easy walking distance to cruise port transportation and Las Ramblas. Front desk was friendly and helpful.

The hotel is centrally located and within comfortable walking distance of Las Ramblas, the Barri Gotic (where it is), the harbor and La Barceloneta. Metro access is within a couple blocks. There is no direct bus to the airport; taxi fare is about 35 Euros, and there is also a possibility to get there by bus and metro if you do not have too much luggage. While […] the lobby is nicely furnished, it has a certain smell to it that would make you think the sewers are somewhat leaky. I had a friend stay on the 2nd floor, where the air conditioning worked well. My own room on the 4th floor was far too hot even with the A/C running all the time though. Heat rises, I guess. While the rooms were very small and basic, they were impeccably clean and the minibar restocked as it should every day. The Barri Gotic is a central district with a lot of bars and restaurants; though I honestly did not hear too much noise overnight - which might have had something to do with me being on the 4th floor. Oh, and don't book their included breakfast - you can have something better and much cheaper at about 10 places within the two surrounding blocks. This is not a 3 star hotel, a 2 star, if that! This hotel was shabby in general. The lobby and hallways smelled like mold or something worse. The room itself was very small, even for European standards. We barely had room to walk around the bed and I'm petite. The TV was about 13 inches(old fashioned tube) and had limited channels. Although the description […] of the room on the website claims rooms are have AC, the AC is really not powerful or cool enough to maintain a comfortable room temperature, especially in the Barcelona heat. The toiletries were beyond pathetic and cheap. The bathroom was very old and was desperate for upgrades or minimally a tile replacement job. The grout was gross and could have used some bleach. Besides the smells, the lack of AC, and lack of space, the noise level of the room was the worst part of the room. Our room was on the top floor and faced an Irish Pub. Due to the narrow streets and the high foot traffic, the noise was awful. People, hang out in the street to smoke and even when talking in normal tones(not often the case) could be heard in our room which forced us to have our window closed all the time. Room could use dual pane windows, but even that would not rescue this hotel. Oh, and the wifi is free, but only if you have an iphone or wifi friendly gadget. The room was tiny and it over looked Ample Street which is lined with bars. I was on the 3rd floor, 4th is the top, and I could hear everything that was going on outside. Seemed like on/off partying until 4 AM. If you can not sleep through that then this is not the hotel for you. Once you figure out how to navigate around the neighborhood, which could take a few days, it is a 10 to 15 minute walk to a metro station. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. Web site says coffee and pastry would be available between 5 - 7 AM, which was a consideration in chossing the hotel, but the hotel did not open for anything until 7 AM. There was an initial problem with the AC but was resolved the next day. Location was great - close to most everything.

getting off a cruise ship - The hotel is easy to find - a short & direct 10 minute walk from the cruise terminal. It is very clean & has a very helpful & friendly staff - they speak English. Hotel room was small and very noisy at night, but this is a decent choice if you want to spend time in the gothic quarter and be close to the coast. Excellent location, close to the Columbus statue, La Rambla, the Cathedral, etc. Access is not that easy, but once you get accustomed with the location, you really appreciate its excellent location. Breakfast is 12 euro, but you have plenty of small shops around where you can get a continental breakfast for a fraction of that cost.

Friendly and helpful staff. My biggest and only problem was the loudness from the street full of bars. Was noisy the same with open or closed windows. Imposible to sleep. Change the windows! I had a little problem also with the tv remote control, does work at all, and the next day was arranged.
