I only stayed here one night, but this would be a great place to bring a family, and stay for several days. The 2-bedroom condo was clean and comfortable, loved the gas fireplace, comfortable bed, and the kitchen was handy. Access to the units is a little inconvenient -- lots of steps to go up and down, especially if you're on the back side. But the location is great, just outside Banff, and just a 3 minute drive to Canmore.

I called the hotel when I made the reservation and they informed me that the previous wifi problem had been solved. When I arrived, the in room wifi could connect but was so slow that it was unusable. The manager said that the wifi had been upgraded and worked well on his phone. But, the wfi access stopped from the room and was even slow in the lobby. One day the wifi did not work anywhere but I suspect they were upgrading the system. During the last 24 hours, the wifi was OK in the lobby but still unacceptable in the room. For two days we had to go to McDonalds in Banff to access the Internet. I trade stocks and there is daily maintenance of the account if one wants to succeed. But, the staff were so nice. I could tell that they were empathetic but the solution was out of their hands. The walls are thin. The parking lot was flooded.

The room was spacious and comfortable with a sitting space in addition to the bed. The hotel is within easy walking distance of shopping, restaurants, etc. Only complaints: 1) Early wake up call not received as requested for first morning (good thing I was up already) 2) Very noisy kids running in the hallway the first night 3) Radio came on early on second morning (I did not set it) I would stay here again.

t think for the price I don't think you can beat the place. Yes its a bit dated etc and parking could be tight (especially if those people with big trucks who can't park!!). If you want a cheap hotel its for you, if not, then pay more and go elseware.

Our stay was very pleasant an comfortable, and all of the staff were amazing. We had the best time in the bar with our sever who we made cry as she was laughing soo hard!! The menue was exquisite and our server, Julia, treated us like royalty! Our favourite dessert was some frozen cheese cake balls, twice!!! "To die for" is all I can say about that. I would highly recommend staying there as you are only minutes from Banff.

"Okay hotel, no luxury at all but well located"
Well located, no luxury at all though. Needs some updates. The staff was helpfull and nice. The pool area is very nice.

Over all the stay was very good. Friendly and helpful staff. The only downside was that the restaurant on 1st floor seemed to be shut every night (there was an upmarket restaurant/bar on Ground floor). They had sign saying it was closed for renovation but it was open every morning for breakfast. They could have just said it's shut due to not many people […] staying. Also the other down side seemed to be the buffet breakfast seemed to end at different times in the morning (one morn at 9:30, the next at 10:00 etc). The rooms were really out dated.. However the bedding seemed new and clean, which is comforting to know the hotel doesn't have ancient beds. The hotel employees were very polite.
"Banff park hotel"
I found the front desk people grumpy and not very helpful. The food was fair but over priced $60 for average buffet per person.breakfast buffet as well $20 per person for scrambled eggs and oatmeal. The main restaurant was descent food but small portions.

The rooms may be affordable, but consider this. If you want a robe to wear its $ 3 per robe per day. If you need a microwave in your room, that is $15 per day. If you need to park underground (ie. winter) that is $10 per day...It adds up. The hotel is old and on the dirty side.

We stayed for 2 nights between Christmas and New Year. On the whole it was a great experience. My only complaint would be the cold lighting in our room, compared to the warm lighting in the common areas of the hotel. The overuse of compact fluorescent bulbs detracted from an otherwise comfortable room. Hotel was great, however do not attend any christmas dinner or brunch, these are very overpriced and are not worth the 54$ a plate, for turkey roast from safeway. We won't be doing that again

We recently stayed at the same hotel on the Cascade side and it was a dump...the room was old and dingy, the ceiling tiles in the bathroom were about to come down. We stayed in this hotel on the Rundle side last June and it was great. It is like 2 different hotels - DO NOT STay on the CASCADE side!!!!!!!!!! fair warning. The front desk staff were less […] than enthusiiastic at our check in - in fact they kind pointed in the general direction of where our room was located - parking is 9.00 a night so add that in to your rate. Everything was great from room to facilities. The only slightly negative items were 1. That you have to pay for internet connection ($10 for 24 hrs). The only saving grace with this service is that the connection speed was around 50Mbs, so no stuttery skyping the family back home or waiting for your email to download. 2. The restaurant up stairs didn't […] have the hours they mention in their compendium. More often it was shut I suspect because not enough guests in the hotel. The location was great with a nice trail and river behind the hotel while close to shopping and restaurants and downtown Banff. The hot tub, warm tub, pool, and sauna were all great. The room itself was very outdated and in need of a carpet cleaning but the bed was comfy. There was also an unkown parking charge of $9.50/night and when I booked the room […] with a king they said it was unavailable when we got there. To make up for it they said they gave us a mountain view which might have been nice if there wasn't a tree right outside the window. "Exceptional long weekend"
We arrived in Banff on Friday afternoon and departed Sunday. The hotel was busy and yet was quiet and comfortable. We've stay here before and would recommend it for future stays.
"Need realistic offseason rates"
The Banff Park Lodge is a perfectly fine, clean, comfortable hotel that suffers from the same flaw as other Banff hotels, being way too expensive in the offseason. And $10 a night for wireless internet is insulting.

I loved this hotel, great pool area, very friendly staff and best of all the awesome balcony with a fantastic view! We really enjoyed our stay here. I highly recommend this hotel!
Nothing bad, but nothing particularly good about the hotel itself. Clean, basic, and a bit outdated. The location is very central in Banff.
A brief but very enjoyable stay. Nice and quiet. A bit odd our choice of room though. Last year, when my wife was on crutches, they gave us a room as far from the elevators as you could get. This year we ended up staying the room reserved for wheel chair guests, even though my wife is now fit again.
Great hotel, comfy bed nice size. Good location. There was great steak house opposite,

sux having to pay $10 per day for parking, and an extra $10 per day for internet, but had a jacuzzi in the bathroom which was a great surprise. Great location.

Hotel stay was good, room was clean, location was the best part.. the swimming area was very nice the staff was very helpful , just one drawback is that the room did seem to have dim lighting.. but other than that it was a good stay

The hotel lobby was beautiful, the staff were good enough but the room was very dated aspecially for the price point. The room service was outstanding and location perfect.

Hotel room was spacious, clean and in good shape. Overall a nice hotel in the heart of Banff. The TV however was a bit outdated, and there was no selection of TV channels. Internet and parking costed extra, which I guess is not specific to this hotel in Banff. I would expect both to be included in a basic room price in 2011!
The gal (Camille) at check in was very helpful and very knowledgable. The restaurant in the hotel is lovely with a wonderful buffet for breakfast. There are many restaurants in the area and so very much to do in Banff in the summer. We enjoy it better than in the winter. Bob and Carole

The hotel was nice except we had to have our curtains closed the entire time because there was construction on the roof of the hotel right outside our sliding door onto our balcony... the workers could see right in!!! And we weren't even informed of this at our check in!

Room was nice, bed was comfy and really enjoyed sitting out on the balcony. Easy walk to the main drag of town. Draw backs were we had a non-smoking room that smelled like a dirty ash tray and at night pay-per-view was done with no fix.

Hotel is very nice and classy. It is 3 minutes walking distance from main street. Location is perfect because you don't have to worry about finding a parking spot when exploring the city. Good location however I was disappointed, as the hotel has vacancies on this weekend, but a large and very loud wedding party was booked in directly beside us. I would have appreciated some consideration of this when we were booked in.

"Good Hotel, bad shower"
This hotel has a great location, large rooms and a great pool spa area. this all went out the window when the morning shower moved from hot to cold numerous times. Something small, but very frustrating early in the morning.

This hotel is pet friendly, centrally located and has a great pool, steam room, and hot tub.... The bed was super soft and cozy, great view and close to all the attactions in town...
This is a very well situated hotel in banff.You can walk to any major sights or take a quick car ride from the hotels locked underground parking,they even had a free car wash station ! the hotel has gift shops and misc stores .Good lounge and restaurants and fantastic view right from our balcony on our standard room. price was very reasonable and waking […] up to breath that fantastic mountain air was the escape my family of four needed. we will be back for sure. The ceiling in room 174 needs too be replaced because it is water stained and probably mouldy. However, our visit was very comfortable and the staff were very helpful.
