Booked this hotel for our 31st wedding anniversary. We enjoyed every minute. We were upgraded to a lovely room overlooking the gardens, with a huge bed. Breakfast was delicious, cooked to order. Spent most of the day in the spa which was lovely, the heated outdoor pool was great. Had meal in restaurant on night which was also lovely, made special, by […] having happy 31st anniversary written in chocolate around our desert plates! The staff were all lovely too. We stayed for three nights in December 2012. The hotel is a short journey to Bath, making it convenient, but it is far enough away to provide peace and quiet. Breakfast was very good, with an excellent choice and good quality. Evening meals were on the expensive side, but of a high standard. The spa facilities (swimming pool, hydrotherapy pool, sauna […] and steam room) were free to use, clean and quiet, so we enjoyed them very much. Our criticisms are minor ones; no tea or coffee facilities in the room and our room didn't have a very good shower, but otherwise the hotel was very pleasant and comfortable. Read more

Excellent hotel, very helpful staff,comfortable room. Car park 150 metres from hotel, OK if not raining, which it was for us! Restaurant rather quiet, due to a party in another room. Food very well cooked but rather 'over the top' so choose from menu carefully Overall recommended.

Good hotel convenient for sights around Bath and Bristol. Staff very friendly and approachable. Good breakfast and bar menu. Restaurant menu tried too hard. Room was too warm even with all the heating turned off.

The Hotel itself is very nice. Set in acres of mature grounds makes for a lovely setting. It is approximately 6 miles from the centre of Bath. Our room was well decorated and clean, if not a little cramped. The bathroom was well appointed and clean though the discoloured toilet brush which is on show in its holder was a little off putting! However, […] good quality fresh clean towels supplied daily and complimentary tea/coffee on demand was a nice touch. Not a huge issue, but the TV didnt work properly and when the issue was raised the staff could not rectify the problem. The DVD player was also faulty. Again, not a huge issue as we werent there to watch TV or DVD's, but nevertheless, you do expect them to be fully functional. One slight gripe I have with the hotel is the 10% service charge they apply to everything. I ordered a pint of lager and a soft drink from the Bar and even though this came to £7.50 (expensive in the extreme), i was also charged an additional 10% (75p) for the pleasure of having a bar man pour my drinks. I think this is ridiculous and needs to be looked at. The 10% service charge applied to the ordering of afternoon sandwiches, room service and as far as I am aware, everything that involved a member of staff doing something for you. I would prefer to remember the hotel for the positives rather than the little niggling issues set out above. Generally however, dont let this put you off staying here. We enjoyed a room for our wedding night and the day after, the weather didn't really hold for us but the room was lovely and spacious. It's a fairly laid back but also professional atmosphere, breakfast was very good too!

Homewood park is a really nice hotel, about 10-15 mins outside bath. It feels like a little oasis in the country. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was magnificant and the spa was very relaxing. Really felt relaxed on our return

Lovely comfortable hotel. Friendly pleasant staff. Delicious food. Wonderful afternoon cream teas. Easy to find the hotel. Beautiful bathroom. Whole hotel has obviously been recently refurbished. Delightful gardens. We used it as a base to visit the South West, but it took a long time to get to places - lack of good roads in the whole area, no fault […] of the hotel! The only improvements I could think of would be to have a display of leaflets for tourist attractions. (We went unprepared, and desperately in need of a holiday). Lots of glossy brochures of other hotels under the same ownership, but nothing of the attractions in the area. They were able to give us information on request however. It would also be nice to have tea/coffee in the room - although the staff will bring it if you ask. I will go there again. Read more
