Our stay was great- very clean room! Everything so new. However, the food was a HUGE disappointment. When it was the Worthington, the food was a sit down, hot breakfast. My husband & I stayed at this hotel & really enjoyed our stay. They have a great restaurant & bar in the hotel which was really convenient after our long drive. The only downfall was that there was no bathtub, it only had a shower.

Glad I stayed here. This hotel is part of a complex that is undergoing renovations. The rooms are fine, the price is great, the location can't be beat in Charleston. Staff were very helpful during a 3 day stay. I love the 6am start time for the free breakfast that offered many hot and cold options.

We had booked this hotel based totally on the reviews we read. Overall we were very pleased. The rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast actually included eggs which was a first after 8 other hotels on a cross country trip. There was only one other car in the parking lot so did not have to worry about noise from other units. I […] would say the only negative is the location. I believe the reconditioning continues. Parts of the hotel are quite nice; the carpet in my room still had stains, cuts, etc. The restaurant is nice & the prices attractive. We attended an event at the university and were in town for just one night. This hotel is in the middle of a total facelift. They have renovated many of the rooms and "freshened" the rooms that are waiting to be redone. We stayed in one of the rooms that is waiting to be redone. With few choices in Charleston, Unique is probably the best. Just be sure to get the remodeled rooms- the ones that have not yet been redone are dirty, smelly, and outdated. Breakfast is decent- just be sure to get down there fairly early so it's still warm. The decor of all remodeled areas is really nice, and the pilowtop beds are great.

Everything was great except that the beds were too high off the floor; my legs were too short to get in and out of bed easily (my inseam is about 28 inches). Very friendly staff. Nice atmosphere.

Somewhat out of date hotel. Front desk closed at 11:00 PM. Strrets got rolled up soon thereafter! Since I was driving in from a distance after a late meeting, the early close was a problem. On the good side, the front desk person called me on my cell to make sure I was coming.

Great for one night and for a smaller family, when you just need to lay your head down and sleep. Not suggested for more than one night stay, just because they are not very roomy or comfy. Splurge and get the "suites." The two double beds are small. The breakfast was good and the customer service was excellent. This hotel is an excellent alternative to other brand name hotels. It is very clean and comfortable. Service was very good and the price is a great bargin. My only slight criticism is the breakfast. The orange juice was some cheap powder mix I think and only one cereal choice. Bagels and pastries were fresh though. Overall a very good experience.

They say ALL rooms come with a fridge/microwave, this is NOT true. ONLY the exec rooms come with them. I booked a room for 2 nights so before getting there I went to a super market & purchased 2 nights worth of food. Upon entering the room I noticed there was no fridge/microwave. I called the front desk asking why & they told me "oh you booked on hotels.com, […] you booked a STANDARD room, only the exec rooms come with those extras." I had drove 22 hours @ that point plus spent money on groceries that were now going to spoil so I asked if I could get a fridge/microwave brought up & I was told no & that I would have to pay extra to get into a exec room with a fridge/microwave, then informed me they wouldnt be able to put me into one of those rooms until the next day. That wasnt going to help bc my groceries were going to spoil before then. Frustrated, I threw all the groceries I had purchashed away. Went to bed only to wake up to a JACK HAMMER in the next room, I call the front desk to aquire what was happening in which they inform me "oh yeah we are doing some renovating" UMM where was this on the website because I double checked after I woke up & it says nothing on the website. I woke up to this noise both mornings in a row. They offered to move me to a room a few doors down, needless to say it wasnt going to stop the noise so I refused. I DO NOT recommend this hotel if you need to relax/rest up. I am very disappointed at the lack of compassion & failure to please their guests. Read more

Staff was friendly and helpful. Outdoor pool area was nice. The lobby area appeared to be recently remodeled, and they were still in the process of remodeling many rooms. Was reasonably priced, and was a good deal since we were just staying one night and attending orientation at Eastern.

The hotel has gone under the knife, as far as a face lift! The lobby is very pleasing to the eye, done quite tastefully. The staff was very pleasant. I just hope that this hotel won't let all the college students ruin the hard work they put into this!
