The people who work at the hotel are ultra nice. In every area from desk staff to housekeeping to the restaurant staff. Golf lovers would love this place. It has 3 great golf courses. My husband and I went with another couple. None of us play golf, but we kept busy. Every room gets a golf cart and that's how you get around. At first I thought it would be annoying but it ended up being a lot of fun. My only negative is that none of the rooms have an ocean view. The staff was very nice and helpful. They were bi-lingual which was much appreciated. A few things were annoying enough to mention: there was some sort of a generator/AC noise that was loud and went on all night, every night...very hard to acclimate to that. Hotel has the BEST cuisine at any of their restaurants and their rooms are simply pristine, superb i should say. Lots to do, sports, water sports, golf, beach, pools, gym, stores, spa.. Altos de chavon night life is great for teens and young adults ( papajacks bar, onno's bar, etc ). The Marina area for parents or adults and any areas adjacent to Hotel are also nice. Ohh and we didn't hear a bee buzz or seeing a fly or mosquito anywhere during our stay. CONS: You must double-check charges made to their room ( restaurants, services, etc) when using your guest card as it can get a bit confusing upon check out, keep your every receipt and go over each item as they are presented to you without taxes and fees but even so they don't add up. Also, avoid using your room phone for any of your international calls, you are better off using your own cell phone or purchasing a calling card out in town. I've been in all of the Dominican Republic hottest spots and beaches in the past and to me, Casa de Campo although expensive, is worth every penny. Read more

Casa de Campo was beautiful. The food was delicious. Everything was extremely well maintained and wonderful. The ONLY negative, is that the hotel is not directly on the beach. I didn't mind though, because you are given a golf cart and it's a very short, pretty drive. I recommend getting the inclusive package.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights in November 2010, and after the first night, tried to extend our stay for another 3 days - it is that great a place. So much to do and see, and if you're a golfer, you must go, 3 public courses to keep you entertained and challenged. The staff is very discreet but very friendly and accomodating. Our hotel room was ample […] and beautifully but simply appointed, designer linens and very comfy mattresses and pillows. The hotel provides a touring cart so you can explore the marina, Altos de Chavon, their private beach, the equestrian center, and the shooting center. We opted for the all inclusive package and were not disappointed. The food in the hotel's restaurants was varied and excellent and I was pleased with their house wines included in the package. For the non-motorized water sports, we used the kayaks and Hobey Cat and everything was in tip-top condition. We shot skeet and rode horses - all locations very close to the hotel with excellent guides and instructors. When asked how our stay was at check out, we only had one word: Awesome! Beautiful grounds, very nice room. Beach was so-so. Had to nearly chase the waiters to get waited on. Lot of the activities they advertised they did not have, ie windsurfing. Worst bar drinks I have ever had. Pizza and hamburgers were terrible. Room service dinners were very good.

Wonderful place. The staff could not have been more co-operative and polite. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We golfed Teeth of the Dog and Dyefore, and both were well worth the money especially the Dyefore, what a fun course. The golf cart that was included what a great way to get around as it is a very large resort. We had a nanny come […] in twice for our 8 month old and she was really good with the baby and spoke very good english. For the money we paid , I would have liked the minibar to be included. I didn't mind paying the 7.00 for room service delivery, but they would not bring alcoholic drinks with our tray. Getting enough bottled water was a feat in itself. They should have a buffet restaurant that is available for dinner every night. The breakfast buffet was super good. All in all it was a wonderful stay. La plage, les commerces, les animations, certains restaurants se trouvent en différents points du domaine. Pour s'y rendre une voiturette est mise à disposition de chaque client durant toute la durée du séjour, car il faut […] parfois 15 minutes de circulation dans un cadre verdoyant et reposant pour se rendre d'un point A à un point B. A noter que seuls circulent les véhicules des clients et des propriétaires de villas.Le petit déjeûner est excellent, les restaurants tout juste satisfaisants, mais on compare toujours à la cusine française !. Il y a des agents de sécurité partout. Belle plage privée, ambiance piscine tranquille. Petit hic : il n'y a pas d'animation dans l'hôtel, il faut se rendre à Altos de chavon petit village reconstitué en pierre et à la marina qui font partie du domaine pour avoir une ambiance vacances.
