City Hotel Kaiserhof - Offenbach

There was something happening outside the hotel because there were four police cars when we arrived. Parking on the street is hard to find, the internet was out in the entire hotel, and the breakfast was, in my opinion, very overpriced. Otherwise, the room was clean and the staff helpful.

OK for the price they charged. Surrouinding neighborhood is a little dicey at night. Hotel locks doors from 11:30 pm to 6:30 am for safety of guests. They do give you a key to open street door in case you stay out late.

When you book this hotel you can be secure in the knowledge you will get a clean room and the room will be larger than many other European hotel rooms of similar ratings. What you will not get is any semblance of "service" from the staff that would be considered normal in the U.S. The internet may, or may not be available. During my stay, the access […] code was changed, but the front desk did not have the new code so there was no service. And what you get from the front desk is a middle aged woman with a completely blank stare on her face, as if trying to comprehend why in the world anyone would want to be able to connect to the internet. I had friends staying at the same hotel while we were both attending the same trade show and we were going to try and connect. The front desk does not have an alphabetical listing of the guests staying at the hotel, so the front desk methodically went through each numerical room card looking for the guest. They found the name and gave me the phone code, but would not give me the room number. I tried to call the room but the phone would not take a message. So I didn't connect on Day 1. The next evening when I returned from the show I asked if there were any messages for me and the front desk said not so I went upstairs to my room. 30 minutes later, my friends came in and asked the front desk if I had checked in or not as they had not heard from me. The SAME person couldn't put 2 and 2 together and tell my friends I had been looking for them. We never did connect though we later found out I was in room 409 and they were in room 411. As I said, you will get a very clean and comfortably sized room. Just realize, that's all you booked and any semblance of guest service beyond that, simply does not appear to exist. Read more

It wasn't so bad. Just old and run-down. For that kind of place, it shouldn't be so expensive. Room was clean, front desk people were nice. Its just old and needs to be massively renovated if you are gonna charge that much.

A very clean and friendly boutique style hotel. Though it's not within Frankfurt city centre, but not too bad to travel around by train. The only bad thing is the rate does not include breakfast nor wifi access.

I expected the hotel to be closer to Frankfurt. But it is actually about 7-8km away by car. Also, if you set your GPS to Kaiserstrasse in Frankfurt you will be in for a surprise (as I was :-) ), there is a Kaiserstrasse in Frankfurt and one in Offenbach too. The one in Offenbach is were you are supposed to go if you stay at this hotel. Anyway... Benefits: […] The hotel is ok, the rooms are clean, the staff were friendly and helpfull. No disturbance from neighbours etc. If you travel by a car they have a secure parking which they charge for. But still, it might be worth considering as parking in the street seemed like a hassle to me. If you go by car it is quick to drive to Frankfurt city centre, also there are lots of parking houses, so no problem. Drawbacks: The wireless Internet in my room did not work well at all, I told the receptionist about this when I checked out and she removed it from my bill, so that was a good sign of service mentality. If your german is not top notch, you might find it a bit boring that all channels on the TV are german ones. Anyway, I got to practice my german and watched Cosby dubbed to german hehe, not quite the same... All in all, the hotel is ok but if I go back I would like to stay IN Frankfurt, prefferably a bit closer to the city centre. Read more

Wir haben beim Einchecken erfahren, dass wir ein "upgrate" ohne Aufpreis erhalten. Toll dachten wir. Als wir das Zimmer betraten waren wir über 4 Betten erstaunt. Auch über den Eimer der am Boden neben dem Bett stand. Dieser war mit ein paar Zentimeter Wasser gefüllt. Ein Blick zur Decke zeigte den Grund. Ein ca 1 qm grosser Fleck war an der Decke und […] der Putz hing herunter. Das Zimmer war übervoll von Mobiliar die nicht zusammenpassten. Man hatte das Gefühl, dass alles nur hineingestellt war. Das Bad war sehr klein, das Fenster war nicht zu schliessen, dafür ging die Heizung nicht. Man konnte sich auch bequem die Zähne putzen, wenn man auf der Toilette saß. Das Waschbecken war direkt vor dem Gesicht. Zimmer 202 also nicht zu empfehlen. Beim Aufzug ums Eck haben sich die Tapeten gelöst. Dahinter schwarzer Schimmel. Fazit: es wurde nicht mehr renoviert seit der letzte Kaiser übernachtet hat. Das Personal war freundlich. Die Lage war Bahnhofsnah. Züge hat man nicht gehört. Wir würden es nicht mehr wählen. Hôtel agréable, restaurant à proximité qui ferme à 2h ou 4h du matin. L'hôtel est de style rustique, mais propre et plein de charme. Très pratique pour se reposer et profiter de la ville dans un bon confort. Attention, l'hôtel est à près de 20 minutes du centre de Frankfort.

Grundsaetzlich mag ich dieses Hotel und war dort schon mehrfach und dann in den Standardräumen, nicht in den besseren. Die bieten nicht dieses 0815-Outfit, wie in etlichen Hotels, sondern individuellen Ausstattung. Die Lage ist Super, nur mit dem Auto ist problematisch oder etwas teurer. Leider war der Empfang diesmal etwas seltsam, erinnerte eher an […] einen Appell als an den Empfang eines Gastes, kurze Sätze, obwohl ich dachte deutsch zu verstehen und der Ton war auch .... Aber die anderen Termine und auch die "Tagschicht" am nächsten Morgen waren sehr freundlich. Ein nettes Hotel für relativ wenig Euros, das Frühstück war für 5€ Super für jetzt 10€ grenzwertig, in der Nähe ist ein guter Bäcker, für weniger. Read more

Es ist ein älteres Baujahr, trotz Renovierung hat es diesen Charme behalten, keines dieser neuen glatten kalten Hotels. Ja der Boden knarrt ab und an, aber wen stört das? Die Zimmer sind zweckdienlich eingerichtet. Ein Teil ist ganz neu renoviert, inkl. Flur. Ein anderer […] Teil wartet noch, die Zimmer, die ich bisher hatte, waren immer gut ausgestattet und sauber. Der Empfang ist freundlich und zuvorkommend. Mit der Bahn ist man in 15min. In Frankfurt. Gerne wieder. Read more
