I've stayed at MicroTels before but what a disappointment this hotel was. We arrived a little late only to find our non-smoking roon had cigarette burn marks in all the linen. The AC unit was broken, the chair was broken, etc., etc., etc. But the real icing on the cake was the next morning. We went to leave for the day and the door wouldn't lock. I […] spoke with the front desk and she said it was probably the batteries. Came back late that night and the door was still unlocked. Talked to that woman who said to jiggle the handle upward and pull real hard a few times. So I did that a few times until I woke up the entire wing getting it locked. It's pretty bad when the staff admits that it is "a really old hotel, that's all." My money unfortunately isn't old. I work hard for it and expect little things like clean/hole free linen and locking doors. Very disappointed! Read more

When we checked into the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham in Kannapolis/Concord NC. we had been on the road for 5 hours. Got room and checked in only to find trash all through out the room. We went down and told the front desk clerk, who didn't seem all too surprised, then gave us another room. We went to that room and it was just as bad. I like Microtel and look for them whenever I travel. They are usually clean, small, efficient rooms with up to date amenities. Not this one. The bed was low and old; there were not enough pillows. Both trash cans were set in the entryway, as if the made put them there as an afterthought. The TV was an old unit placed on top of the closet. Breakfast […] was even more spartan than most and the room was dark and uninviting.. This appears to be an older hotel that someone has reworked as a Microtel, but it isn't up to their usual levels of cleanliness and no-frills-but-everything-you-need level. Surroundings and location are great! Just needed a place to stay for a night and chose here. On our way up the stairs we encountered cigarette bud after cigarette bud. Upon reaching the top floor, i began to sweat. Considering the heat was on 88! It was hard to breath and stuffy till we reached our room. Room was decorated nice. Mirrors on the wall, […] windows that open, and even a TV...but the windows have kiss marks on them and if u open them there's no netting, you could jump right out! The lights were dying slowly and the room hadn't been vacuumed. If i needed a place to stay i would stay here again but not for important matters. Oh and the front desk staff was nice! I was surprised by the smallness of this room. And, no coffee pot was NOT a plus to me. they had the tv on top of the closet so in order to watch it you had to sit on the bed.

my family stayed for a week the room we stayed in was very clean, very friendly service. The only thing that I wish they had different was there breakfast you had a choice of corn flakes, frosted flakes or raisin brand for cereal, then there was oatmeal, grits, bagels. other then that I would stay again.

The location was excellent for my business meeting and for shopping. The room could have been cleanier, the smell was not the best and I had to get an air freshner for the room. I guess you get what you pay for. It served it's purpose.

You get what you pay for! Hotel had a B rating for sanitation and there was hair on the bathroom floor! Disgusting! No blankets on the bed, other than some nasty wool blanket that looked very old and dirty. Much nicer hotels in the area that are well worth paying a little more for.

My visit to the hotel was brief. My boyfriend and I decided to get away from the world for a day. Checking in was speedy, when I got into the room it was nice. I really loved the way it was set up. Our room only had hand towels yo dry with after our showers. Found larger towels later in a drawer, dirty. Checked in late due to traffic, so missed the sign stating "you only have 10 min after check in to complain about room"

The photos on=line and the star rating is totally incorrect. This hotel should be a half star at best. The photos shown on-line must be of a different location, because this location was really ran down. My husband ask for sheets for the sofa bed and he was told that no one every use the sofa bed and that's why no sheets were in the room. The staff […] member give my husband a dirty pillow and hole filled sheets and blanket. The carpet looked to have been never cleaned and have water damage. There was a smell, a very bad smell. We had to buy air spray and cleaning wipes just to stay the night. We checked in later in the evening after traveling six hours. There is a sign that state "no refund after 10 mins from check-in" more or less. Which we saw after checking the room, which took that time and more. We were to stay for five days. WE DID NOT! Was assigned a room on the first floor. Asked for a second floor room but was told the only two rooms available there were "reserved for the locals and can sometimes be pretty nasty." So we took the one on the first floor. We opened the room door to find the lights and TV on and the pillows from one bed thrown onto the other bed (as if someone had just […] been there relaxing and watching TV). We immediately went back to the receptionist and requested another room. We were then given one of the available rooms on the second floor. We opened the door - lights off, TV off... good sign. We turned the lights on to find no blankets on the bed. It's 100 degrees out, so no big deal there. I checked the pillows. The cases that were supposed to be white had nasty dark stains on them - like 100 year old dirt. The sheets had random nasty stains on them. No bedbugs though, so that was good. Then checked the towels in the bath - nasty, nasty stained towels - yellow and brown stains. We asked the receptionist for clean sheets and towels. If it wasn't for the fact that we had our 2 year old with us and it was very late, we would have left. Didn't bother with the "continental breakfast" after seeing a pile of packaged danish covered in dust behind the receptionist and the 86.5 rating that the hotel got. I will never, ever, ever again stay at a Mircotel. And if I have any say in it, neither will anyone I know. Read more

Our only complaint was that from our reservation we were lede to believe that the rooms all had cofee makers and a small refrigerator. We were told that that only applied to the larger rooms. Minor problem - we made do with an ice chest for our stay.

Hotel personnel was courterous, but condition of the hotel has slipped as stayed here one year ago. Carpet in room was ripped, beds were half made, but clean. No luxuries in bathroom (shampoo, hair dryers, lotions, etc.). Towels were worn due to multiple washings and rough in nature. Carpets in room very dirty, fan on heater and air conditioner would not go on auto so fan would go off when the right temperature was met. Should have 2 seperate switches in washroom for fan and light so you can turn fan off when needed. Bathroom was never clean very good.

For a very economical short stay, this facility did the trick. Contrary to several other reviews, the staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The front desk was courteous and accomodating. Maintenance resolved a minor bathroom problem within minutes of informing the staff.
