Decent Hotel. Convenient for train stations. Bedrooms comfortable - some parts of hotel looking a bit tired. Excellent meal in the restaurant - good quality food very reasonably priced. Good central location for City sights and shoppingGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"suite vs club room"
We had initially booked a suite to the front of the hotel for a bit of luxury and views of George Sq. The room 4th floor was run down, dark and the windows were too small to get any decent view of the square. I complained to reception as soon as we arrived and they moved us to a "club room" on 3rd floor. Much better, more modern, light and airy with […] excellent views of the square. Would not waste money on the suite when this room is much nicer. Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was good and the hotel is ideally situated for anything in Glasgow. "Luxury suite - not worth the money, club room good"
Luxury suite? Not exactly luxury Stayed here on a saturday night with my wife. Had been here a couple of months previously and stayed in a club room overlooking george square, which was very nice indeed, very spacious. We booked the luxury suite this time but it was not worth the extra money. The luxury suites do not look over george square but out […] the back of the hotel over the railway station. The suite is very big but has no table lamps and other furnishings you would expect for the money. Dont wate money on a suite.....a club room is better. Staff are all excellent, did not eat in restaurant apart from breakfast which was OK. I would stay again just not in a suite. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"COLD and UNCOMFORTABLE"
Hotel is central right next to the station. It was January and the heating in the room just didnt work. They gave me a small electric heater which was useless so instead of sitting up working in the evening I had to go to bed to keep warm unfortunately. The communal areas were also not warm. It was a cold night outside but regardless they shouldnt be […] renting out a room with no heating at all. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Robin of Loxley"
Location very central for shops and lovely building structures surround the hotel location, friendly staff, good value breakfast, only downside you have to pay for internet access, very unusual in todays world! Fire alarm went off at 1-30am and waited in street until Fire Brigade had checked premises, far from being a problem , I would compliment the […] staff on their professionalism in evacuating the hotel and keeping residents updated on what was a small fire, giving great confidence in the Hotels Safety standards , which was further highlighted by a personal letter of apology from the Manager under the bedroom door by the time you woke up -well done ! We found the people of Glasgow very warm and friendly. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A disappointment at a premium location"
We stayed one night on the New Years eve and I am sorry to say that the hotel was a huge disappointment, at an exorbitant price. The furniture and equipment remember the 1970ties, the room was tiny, high, cold and ugly, with sticky floors. 1 tiny soap bar and two reused soap/shampoo bottles in the bathroom to share between the two of us at 200 quid […] a night. The room was cold and the only sockets to connect the oil heater was the kettle socket next to the TV. Cold water in the bathroom, required some 15 minutes of running to finally warm up. Very average breakfast. Sorry to say but it is beyond me how this is a four star hotel. The location is premium, the staff was very nice, but I'd rate the hotel at 2 star, at most. We had a lovely time in Glasgow itself the hotel is looking very tired once you leave the downstairs area , the floors are Very creaky the paintwork needs attention in the lobby's and the bedrooms , our room was very cold the air con wasn't efficient at all , the bed was small for a hotel which is charging the prices it's asking , the windows were very […] draughty and let in a lot of noise , the staff were very friendly and the breakfast was very nice , I do think the prices should reflect the hotel and not the location it really needs to be revamped a good bit to justify the cost . A day shopping and a night out with the wife, great location. Big spacious room comfortable room and a tasty breakfast in the morning. Over looking George SquareGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent location, parking close by"
Entrance area quite pleasing and modern however room although cleaned to a good standard was very tired and in desperate need of refurbishment, and the bathroom was positively depressing, obviously at one time a very grand hotel but now a shadow of its former self. Ok for a cheap deal, but would not pay top dollar, there are far better places in Gl […] asgow. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Really bad hotel"
I paid quite a bit of money for my room and expected a really nice room in a nice hotel, from the outside the hotel looks nice and is ideally located for exploring Glasgow, however the room was really tired and hadn't seen a lick of paint in years the en-suite was awful the over all feel and look of the room was depressing I literally did not sleep […] all night because of the constant noise from what I think was an air conditioning system out the back and the constant noise from the street, I discovered that the windows were single glazed and it might perhaps be a good idea to invest in triple glazing or at least double glazing to counteract the noise it is after all a hotel in the centre of a big city surrounded by pubs and clubs. I really regret staying at this hotel and will not do so again in future. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming, nice room, great view and surprisingly quiet for the location. Perhaps one or two things could do with being repaired or replaced, but overall nice. I didn't use the restaurant, so can't comment on that.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Old but charming"
Staff weren't the friendliest and were unsure what time we could check in..... apart from that clean rooms. We stayed in the ckub room and it was big and spacious. Ideal locationGenuine Expedia guest review
My only complaint was that the staff at check in didn't tell us wee needed to order breakfast by hanging the card outside our room before 3am so we didn't get any , other than that fabulous hotel in a Fantastico cityGenuine Expedia guest review
This has to be the worst hotel I have stayed at in many years. Rooms tierd and worn. Breakfast was terrible my first task was findind a clean plate glass and coffee cup. Although not sure why I bothered as the breakfast consisted of cheap produce that after day 2 became inedible. Room key for both of us constantly needed reseting which was a pain as […] we were on the top floor. I would give this pkace 0 out of 10 Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great central hotel,"
If you are not booked into club rooms you get a very basic room over looking a brick wall. Needs refurbished and updated decor in room. Thought I had been given staff quarters. . Stayed in room 321. Detail to housekeeping needs to be addressed clean enough but areas needed attention in bathroom. Staff excellent front areas clean and relaxing. Food ok […] but 9.30 last cover for meal needs to be rethought. Hotel in. Centre of glasgow should hAve later dinning arrangements other than room service. Over all stay was good and would return but would request better facing room. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Lovely hotel close to eveything."
Our check in was smooth; the room beyond our expectations. High ceilings, comfortable beds, spacious and a beautiful bathroom. The location allowed for easy access to the airport bus and the tour bus. We walked next door to catch the train to Edinburgh. I recommend it to anyone in Glasgow!Genuine Expedia guest review

"awesome hotel close to the station."
I was looking for a hotel close to Queen Street Station in Glasgow because my mum has some minor mobility issues while waiting for a knee replacement. It couldn't have been better, the staff where kind, efficient and very helpful. The room ( a twin) was immaculate and spacious, the beds so comfortable i didn't want to get up. ( if i could have nicked […] the mattress i would have) could not fault it! We where there over the weekend and on saturday we where able to borrow a courtesy wheelchair and wander along Suchiehall street ( a feat impossible for my mother at this point) The concierge was amazing, allowing us to put my mothers medication in there fridge, nothing was too much trouble for the most excellent staff. We are already planning to book for christmas. : ) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Overall the hotel was great value for the money we paid and very central to all Glasgow's amenities. The staff were polite and helpful. The only downside was the room was slightly tired, but for what we paid for our two night stay did not put us off staying again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A bed for the night"
OK as an overnight stop prior to catching train from Queen St station. Room was comfortable, did not pay the inflated price for breakfast, bought from the Sainsbuy's next door instead.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel promises a lot and the room was very spacious and well priced for central Glasgow, but some attention to detail were lacking. I find it strange not to find a minibar in a hotel of this quality. Some of the toiletries in the bathroom had not been restocked or checked. And having booked a double room I was disappointed to find it was actually […] two singles zipped together (which could be felt through the sheets). The location can't be beaten though, and there were some other details that worked well (e.g. apples on reception). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
