had booked a week long stay, due to flight delays I ended up reaching the hotel on the second day of my booking to find out that they had given my room away since I was a no show the day before. On top of that they only reimbursed me for the remaining six days of my trip.

The Britannia is excellent hotel for the desperate and non-discerning. The television and wireless Internet were broken totally or partially for our entire stay. While the website and signs in our bathroom indicated a shower, only a bathtub (with no hose of any kind) was provided. Very run down, so-so service and many technical issues such as the main doors not functioning and the one working lift had to be sent up from the ground floor. The city center was easy to walk to with the hotel's location being the one saving factor.

Room v clean but the furnishings were a bit old and scruffy. Great location but no hotel parking so we had to use the NCP car park and pay 9 pounds for 24 hours. V cheap bar in hotel but closed early so we couldn't go in. would recommend it for ease of access though.

Britannia has been one of my regular places to stay in Nottingham, and it's a shame that its standard seems to be deteriorating. On this particular stay the bed was OK but the room was not very clean, the kettle was in a very poor state, and bathroom shampoo/soap was only provided once and never replaced. One of the two lifts in the hotel has been out […] of order for months, and is still not fixed! That meant I had to wait for some 5-10 minutes sometimes to get to my 9th floor. That's It location was nice. Hotel was ran down an carpet was dirty. There was no Internet because It was down. An only one elevator worked. 64 british pounds was way overpriced. More like 35-40 pounds for the hotel condition.

Booking with hotels.com was easy and efficient and I will definitely do it again. The hotel reception reminded me of being in a multistory car park, low ceilinged concrete soullessness. Had we not already paid we would have left at this point. We were directed to the hotel's Java coffee lounge for lunch, jacket potatoes, panninis etc, when we got there […] we were told by the surprised server that no, there was not any food served. The public areas of the hotel are dingy, dated and slightly grubby, I don't think there has been any investment in a couple of decades. The room was old fashioned and drab, with the musty smell of unused rooms. That said, the bed linen was crisp and clean as were the towels, and the shower was hot and powerful. The bathroom could have done with a thorough clean. We had two rooms between four of us, it was VERY cheap, and the hotel is right next to two car parks so it is convenient for travel. I would point out to anyone to wants to get some sleep that a very cheap hotel in the centre of a city will always attract stag parties, you have been warned! We got the impression that this hotel is run on a shoestring budget with minimum staff, and it shows. The hotel is very dated but our room was spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The NCP car park is accessible directly from / to the hotel bar. This was very handy, but not a good welcoming experience as the hall between the car park and hotel were filthy and littered. I have rated this hotel highly. Me and my boyfriend stayed here after a gig. We only paid £30 for the night, and you get what you pay for. It's not the best hotel I have stayed in. But it's got everything you need. Decent sized room, en-suite, comfy bed. The decor isn't the best, but who cares! It's a budget hotel, and it was great for us. I have stayed here a fair few times now on business. I have selected it as it is the cheapest. To be fair, it's clean and the staff are pleasant. But I certainly wouldn't bring the wife here, or stay through choice.Bedding is clean, but the rooms are less so - you'll usually find hair in the corners and bathroom.
