"Amazing staff and wonderful place to stay"
I had a very good experience for the week that I stayed in this hotel. Perfect breakfast buffet and lovely professional staffGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great restaurant but too far from town"
A little too far from the centre of Reykjavik and not in pretty surroundings. We were upgraded to a junior suite but whilst spacious this did not feel luxurious somehow. The staff were very good before and during the trip, providing prompt and courteous assistance. A good breakfast was included with some interesting Icelandic choices for the adventurous […] (cream cheeses flavoured with birth and moss for example) but the highlight was a fantastic restaurant Grillid with great views on the 8th floor; the 8400 kroner surprise menu may seem expensive but it's easy to spend that in town on inferior food (Iceland is not cheap). "Not a bad hotel"
Not the most central hotel but it is only a 10 or so minute walk to the city centre. Breakfast buffet is excellent but the dinner buffet is poor so I recommend looking elsewhere for that.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good value for money"
Exterior looks uninspiring, but it's comfortable and by Icelandic standards good value for money. About an 8 minute walk from the City Centre. Excellent buffet breakfastGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel in expensive Reykjavik!"
The hotel was slightly away from the city centre but not too far to walk. The room was comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, like most things in Iceland, it is very expensive, especially the breakfast. However the food served and choice was very good.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel but rooms in need of attention"
The staff were good, attentive and very helpful however the room needed re decorating as tiles missing off bathroom wall, wallpaper peeling off the wall and hairs in sink when we arrived. Other parts like restaurants were well maintained with a good breakfast buffet service. Also the lady who was helping booking tours for people was excellent and extremely […] helpful. "Good quality hotel"
The room was clean, a decent size, the bed comfortable. The Wi-Fi signal (prominently advertised by the hotel) was very weak and unreliable. Breakfast service was a patchy - finding a prepared table and getting coffee took a while. The breakfast itself was excellent - lots to choose from. One other slight grumble - couldn't get menus or prices for either […] of the restaurants in the hotel so assumed they were ridiculously expensive and ate in town. "Wouldn't call it 4 star but a good hotel"
Staff were friendly, welcoming and always approachable with any issues and Hotel was very clean/tidy had no language issues as the entire staff spoke very good English which was a fantastic surprise. Had some issues with the quality of some of the room areas and items within (phone was broken, unplugged. lamps were unplugged, mattress was well used […] and needed flipping or replacing). it didn't effect us but there is a building site next door. while no work is currently going on, the project will continue until 2016 Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel OK - found service poor"
Overall hotel is in a decent location about a 10-15 minute walk from city centre. Facilities good, food good. I had a problem with the wifi internet connection which i reported 4 times to staff and no one fixed the problem - got passed around - the hotel literature states that if they don't resolve it you don't have to pay but this never happened either. […] Overall this spoilt what would have been a decent hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent hotel for a short break in Reykjavik."
A great hotel providing comfortable accommodation and good facilities. Good selection at the breakfast buffet. Our Business Class room had a good quality coffee machine, spacious safe and very comfortable beds. The 5th floor room had nice view towards the city centre and the mountains beyond.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Worst Radisson ever."
The room had a stale smell as you entered it, the decor and condition of the room was poor and in need of immediate refurbishment. We were in a junior suite , so I would hate to see a standard room. Tv/movie selection was also lacking. The bathroom was also very bad with a mouldy, mildew smell and very small space considering we were in a suite. Some […] staff were helpful but most not very concerned about guests well being. The Internet was not reliable at all, most times we had no connection . Room service food was not very good, high prices and again a limited selection. Overall a very poor Radisson hotel, the management of this chain should review this hotel. "Wonderful Reykjavik Stay"
We were greeted by friendly staff and told all about the amenities available to us when we checked it. I could not check in for the flight on the way home and the receptionist was only too happy to help and print out boarding passes which helped alot once we got to the airport. Very Friendly hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good base for south east Iceland"
This hotel caters for businessmen and as such the service is quick. The room was a reasonable size and warm with comfortable beds and a good bathroom. The location was a pleasant 10 minute walk to the city centre. I did not see any facilities that would make it specially suitable for families with young children. Plenty of parking and easy to find. […] In house restaurants were a bit pricey. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good but few annoying points"
The hotel staff were friendly, I did not book breakfast, but decided to have breakfast one morning, limited choice for the per head charge. I was there over a weekend, disapointed that the gym/spa/sauna was only open from 0900-1800 during the weekend, had arranged tours to various venues all day, this meant we were never able to use the gym or sauna […] at all, as we left before 0900 and arrived back after 1800, doesn't make sense as most people would like to go to the gym first thing in the morning before setting out for the day, rather than stay in the hotel till late. On the possitive side, the staff were very friendly and happy to help at all times, a good choice of tours from the tour desk, well located hotel being quite close to city center. Lifts were being repaired at the time, also some construction work going on so some noise was present from time to time. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Comfortable and 10 min walk to centre"
Good quality hotel if a little dated. Enjoyed complimentry use of the spa. Breakfast £15 but excellent feed, lots of courses and choice. 10 minute walk to Reykjavik centre. Helpful tour organiser in reception - no need to book in advance in UK, choose in hotel. Overall good value for money and would recommend.Genuine Expedia guest review

*Very clean hotel with very good service.*Downtown from the hotel is around 20 min walking *The hotel was made in the 70's and being Reykjavik a very small city they clearly haven't invest in renewing the hotel in a long time*There is a gas station with a small convenience store(with amazing hot dogs) and a public thermal pool aside the hotel.*The tourism […] office located in the hotel can help to fix any tour required. A nice stay, friendly staff and very helpful. The room could have been cleaner, quite run down and had to ask for my curtains to be rehung. Only 7-10 minute walk to town centre. I would stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Tired, sad and poorly managed"
Booked this because Radisson have a good name. I'm surprised that they are willing to put this hotel in their portfolio. The room was spartan, showing its age and far too hot. To be fair it was scrupulously clean but was far from the treat it was intended to be for my wife's birthday. Breakfast food was cold - I have never had a stone cold fried egg […] before - and the tables were left uncleared so that it was impossible to find a space to sit down. I must say however that the staff were lovely, helpful, knowledgeable and made it difficult to complain. Not much point though as I guess one room would be much like the others. I liked the location a little outside of town and parking was easy. This hotel needs some serious TLC before I would stay again though. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is a bit dated but is clean. The rooms are large and the bathrooms very nice and in good condition. The location is OK, a 10 -15 minute easy walk to downtown. Breakfast was included and it was a buffet. They served the exact same thing everyday. It was plentiful and makes it a good value! The hotel accomodates early check-ins by storing luggage […] and making their spa available on arrival. There is concierge service for booking excursions and assisting with the excursions pre-booked on line. There is another Radisson Blu hotel which is located Downtown. "not worth it"
the room was very hot. No extra pillows were provided. beds were uncomfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Radisson Blu Saga was a disappointment. Based on the cost alone, the hotel should had offered better service, comfort and quality. It did not. The first room we were assigned, the door did not open. I made 3 trips to the reception before they finally came up and looked at it. I was eventually assigned a different room after waiting for several minutes. […] The hotel did not offer any compensation for this inconvenience. The hotel staff is nice and polite, but they lack customer service. The free wifi internet did not work in my room. I called tech support and they eventually said that it would take a day to fix the access point. No internet for me that night in my room. I was kindly told to go to the lobby. For being a good hotel, they had terrible beds. There were depressions in the mattress and overall very uncomfortable. The reason we chose the hotel was because we expected the beds to be better than the Best Western. Very disappointing. The location is good. 10 min walk to downtown Reykjavik The Grill restaurant on the 8th floor is very expensive and upscale. If you're like me and just want a good steak or pasta, then this is probably not for you. They don't have a wide selection. Overall, I would not recommend the Radisson. I would try the Hilton instead. It is around the same price range. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Dated rooms, but great views"
The rooms were dated, it was like the room had been decorated with 70/80s Ikea furniture, but it was comfortable. The TV was small but the view out over Reykjavik more than made up for it. Location wise, it was a bit too far from the centre to walk to but it was near enough to bus stops and the BSI terminal to be able to get to where you needed to […] be. The hotel was normally the last stop for drop offs after excursions but we were always picked up with plenty of time to spare so we were never in danger of being late for an outing. The only downside to the hotel for me was some of the staff in the tourist information shop. Some staff were very helpful, others would wheel themselves around on their office chair! Not what you expect when the rest of Iceland seems so friendly. Food in the restaurant, for both breakfast and dinner, was very good and the rest of the hotel staff were very helpful. Would happily stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel had good amenities - we used the free wi fi, free car parking, bedroom safe and tea and coffee facilities. We did not dine in the hotel but the breakfast buffet was the best we experienced during our stay in Iceland (we stayed at a further 4 locations)- in terms of variety and quality. The bedroom was very basic but functional. The shower […] curtain was too short so that water would flood the bathroom floor (no bath). Lots of hot sulphurous shower water !. The hotel star rating system in Iceland is not equitable to UK ratings. We only had a bedroom view of a traffic island and roads. Despite this, the hotel was well located for the National museum and we could walk to the centre within 20 minutes. Taxi rank sits outside hotel too. Having stayed in several places around Iceland, this hotel would compare well. The staff at reception were helpful and of course most Icelanders spoke perfect English! Comfortable and clean room with good view of church and mountains. Breakfast copious and staff pleasant although sometimes there was long wait at reception. "Ideal for drivers looking for a stopover"
We arrived into Reykjavik on a wet and grey Sunday which initially gave the hotel and the immediate surrounding area the look and feel of an Eastern Bloc country circa the mid 1970s. Saying that though once inside the reception and bar/restaurant areas were modern and comfortable very much in line with the design of a business like hotel. Very friendly […] reception staff on arrival. Our room was on the 7th floor with a view over the domestic airport. This wasn't a problem at all regarding noise as flight arrivals were few and far between and were all turbo prop aircraft. The room was clean and well fitted out with the usual business hotel mod cons. Our stay was just for 1 night before our early departure from Keflavik airport back to London the next day. We chose this hotel as it had free parking and was only 10 mins walk from the centre of town (which coming from London is no distance at all). It was also well located for an easy to follow drive out to Keflavik airport the next day. The property does very much have the feel of a chain business hotel so if you are looking for something with more local flavour it probably isn't for you. For us it was a place to stop over on the last night of our trip and matched all our key requirements (decent standard of accommodation/free parking/location - easy to follow drive to hotel/short walk to city centre) . "Best I have found in Iceland so far"
Good size room with great views, Sony LCD TV, comfortable chairs and good bed. The pillows were a bit firm for me but overall a good bed. The view from room was very good but the outside of the windows could do with a clean. Location was great and parking ample, if you wanted a pizza from dominoes then all you had to do was pick up phone and press 4 […] to get straight through to dominoes. Bathroom was good. I looked forward to going back after a long day shooting (photos). Warm and comfortable with easy access to the city whether driving or walking. If you have a car there is a shell right on the edge of the hotel car park which is 24 hour (24 hour fuel only). There is a Subway (sandwich shop) at many of the petrol stations throughout Iceland so you can refuel and get something to eat. Would definitely recommend and plan to stay again sometime. "Dated but comfortable."
The staff in the hotel and for the services were generally very good. One of the ladies in the tourist centre wasn't much help at all and was pretty much glued to the chair behind her desk making it difficult to get anything out of her. Other than that, the staff at reception and even the cleaners were all very helpful and friendly. The room we had […] did have a very good view of Reykjavik, but the furniture was dated, the TV was small and badly positioned and the wall had torn wallpaper that had probably been like that for a long while now. Bed and other amenities were good and the free wifi made it easy for us to check the weather and find things to do at our leisure. There was confusion over wether the breakfast was included as we got different answers from our Expedia booking info, the staff and the in-room TV menu, but if you have it, I think it's pricey for what it is. The bus stop outside the hotel made it easy to get around the city and was a real plus for us, as was the free spa centre in the basement. The Reykjavik Excursions tour company always seemed to pick us up last for tours, which worked in our favour going out, but we were always last to be dropped of afterwards, which was a bit of a pain. Grear service and always genuinly willing to help. Hotel was central and had excellent views. Dinner was excellent but only a limited bar menu, however as the city centre was close this was not a problem (try the icelandic bar). "Langweekend i Reykjavik"
Veldig bra gourmet restaurant i topp etasjen. Flott utsikt.
