Just around the corner from the station. The room was very large, clean and comfortable with super cozy doonas and a lovely breakfast in the morning. The staff were friendly and helpful. A charming stay.

I wasn't too sure what to expect based on the other comments on this site. The big issue apparently is the close proximity to the red light type businesses. I don't know if those folks have not been around Europe much, but there were just a couple strip-club type places - girls weren't on the street or in windows. I have definitely seen worse - and no one ever bothered me even as a single woman walking downt the street. If you don't want to see it at all, I found it easier to use the Adolf-Kolping-Str. rather than the Schillerstr. to get to old town, since there is so much construction near the Bahnhof. There is a lift that will take you to the 5th floor, so no big deal for check-in. I had only to carry my bags up one flight of stairs, and the ladies working did offer to do it for me, so don't let that hold you back. Yes, it was a little noisy, but considering the location, I slept well and it was worth it. Breakfast was very good, very typical German, and fresh! The only problem I had is one that most people wouldn't. I wanted to leave at 6am on a Sunday. No one does this in Bavaria! I was parked in the recommended garage, and figured that with automated pay machines I could leave whenever I wanted. There were signs posted also, but I didn't pay attention. So I got up to leave, went to check out, only to find out that I couldn't leave! The lady working was so sweet, gave me back my keys and let me go back to sleep. By 10am I was well-rested and back on the road!

We reserved and paid for a room for two adults and one young child (2-years old). When we arrived they tried to charge us an extra 45 Euro for our child. He ended up sleeping in the bed with us because they wouldn't put a crib or small cot in the room. I will not return to this hotel.

This area is very hectic. It was a little strange checking in on the 5th floor. However, the hotel was very nice and the rooms were very large, clean and comfortable.

This 20-room hotel is located just a 5-minute walk from the Munich Main Train Station in the center of Munich. The staff (and the owner of this family-run hotel) are friendly, accommodating, , and genuinely care about you and your wishes and are unhesitatingly helpful. The room is large, comfortable, quiet, warm and clean and is equipped with a Plasma TV. The breakfast is home-made and more than adequate, with unlimited amounts of coffee. We booked Hotel Monaco on the net, which can be chancy. In this case we were most pleasantly surprised. This hotel is better than any of its peers and some of the more upscale "houses" we have stayed at in Europe. It is most reasonable for Munich--a great value for the money!!! Assuredly we shall stay there again the next time we are in Munich. In the meantime I shall be busy letting my numerous traveling friends in on this little treasure. We recommend it highly.

We were very pleased with our stay. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Much better than we expected for a 2 star hotel. Included free wireless internet. Only thing we would do different is stay in a different room. Though on the 5th floor, the street below is noisy off and on most all night until the cabaret closes around 4am. Breakfast room on other wall starts with dishes clanking at 7am. Great value for the money and will stay here again--just not room 504.

This is the greatest, most amazing hotel I have every stayed at. For the price, I expected this to be a horrible place. However, the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. It is family run, and the lady that is there in the mornings/afternoons is the most amazing person I have every met. She is very friendly and will help you with anything you need. In the mornings, she sets up the breakfasts by herself and makes it look elegant. She will even brew tea personally for you. The room was huge and very clean and elegant. I would never have expected this service from any hotel. You can tell she loves what she does and she lives to help others and make her guests happy.
