"Very easy and clean"
Hotel was wonderful. It was about a ten minute walk to Temple Bar and the area we were in was super quiet. Staff was incredibly friendly and the room was very clean. They had the desk staffed 24/7 and even helped us get a taxi at 4am for the airport.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Spencer (many people still know it as the Clarion) is very modern, very clean and comfortable but pretty "soulless." It is probably mainly appropriate for business travelers because it is located in the heart of the modern business district which is well away from the center of town. Having said that, downtown access is quite easy via either a pleasant […] stroll along the Liffey or by hopping on the "Lulas" (light rail) which is only a half block away. "Nice new hotel in the IFSC section of Dublin"
Although Hotel seems out of city center - it is on a direct run from the airport on the 747 Dublin bus into the city and in back of the hotel is a Lewis Stop. Hotel is relatively new and in good condition with a pool/gym. Bedding and room are modern and if you get a room in the front of house there is a good view of the Liffy river and city. Pretty […] good value for the money Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"comfortable and convenient"
There isn't a cozy feeling about this hotel, more like a get-on-with-your-business vibe. Fitting, I guess, for being next to the IFSC and the convention center. However, our two days there were enjoyable. Room was very nice overlooking the Liffey. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast offerings were wide and tasty. The location was very good for walking into […] centre city or for hopping on the bus or tram. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Basic utility hotel close to the convention center"
This hotel has all the charm of a stay at a hospital. The interior design of the hotel seems to have achieved the goal of expressing as little personality or charm as possible. The food is particularly dull. Their traditional Irish breakfast is of very low quality and lacking in flavour. It seems, judging by the shrunken sausage, rubbery bacon and eggs, […] and dry flavorless potatoes that the food is prepared the day before of the lowest quality ingredients available. After the second day, when not enjoying one of the many other restaurants or pubs in Dublin, we found ourselves walking down the street to Jury's for a meal rather than endure another at the Clarion. The restaurant and bar staff seemed entirely lacking in appropriate training. We sat in the lounge on three consecutive afternoons for over thirty minutes before deciding to go elsewhere while the staff hurried about and chatted while ignoring us and everyone else. I was surprised to be under the impression during the entire five night stay that the owners and management of this hotel seem to have absolutely no experience running restaurants or hotels of any kind. "Convenient to City Center"
My daughter and I stayed at the Clarion for a mother/daughter vacation. The staff could not have been nicer. From the maids that cleaned our rooms to the front desk people, the manager, and a special thanks to Eamon, our concierge. The rooms were larger than many European rooms , comfortable and very clean. The location is excellent, away from the hub […] of Dublin City Center, yet easily accessible to all the must see sights. If I return to Dublin I would definitely stay here again. "Very nice two night stay here"
My wife and I just came back from a week in Ireland and spent two nights here. It was a very nice hotel with great staff. We had a snafu checking in because our room wasn't ready. We had them hold our bags and went out and found a bite to eat. Our room still wasn't ready a couple of hours later, but when we finally were able to check in, our bags were […] gone. Yes, you guessed it, they went ahead and took them to the room for us proactively. Hotel breakfast buffet was pricy - 15 Euros per person, but excellent. If I had to do this over again, I would have booked rates that included breakfast. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Bit of a walk ..."
We spent two nights here at the beginning of a 10-day visit to Ireland. It was a bit of a walk to get to the hop-on-hop-off bus stop. On the plus side, there were a couple nice little breakfast / coffee shop places just down the walkway to the left of the hotel (facing it from the street), which was handy. Also a little grocery store. Famine memorial […] statues were just down the street, as was the tall ship (Jenny Johnston?). Rooms were nice and had internet access. Hallway carpet was very dirty ... in need of replacement. Hotel staff was very nice and helpful when we were inquiring about getting to the airport to pick up our rental car. We were inquiring about a taxi, but the told us about a airport shuttle bus for 3 euros that was due any minute. We rushed to get our stuff from out room, and the gentleman from the front desk came to help when the bus pulled up. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel, would stay again"
We love the price of the hotel for the quality - it was very nice and comfortable. The staff was excellent. Also, it is extremely close to the Dublin LUAS (light rail) and was easy to get back and forth to the CityCenter. The airport bus (747) also drops off and picks up in front of the hotel. We would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"a reasonable hotel"
Overall a good hotel for the price. Nice, clean and well locatedGenuine Expedia guest review
"Easy Access to Dublin"
Good location and right next to a stop on the Luas; thus, making it very easy to get down to O'Connell St to grab other public transportation. A good place to use as HQ while visiting Dublin.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Mediocre at best"
the cleaning staff cleaned the room but more often than not forgot to replace all the towels, did not replace the soap, or coffee or the water, The bed linens were made of polyester so you invariably wake up all sweated up They missed a wake callGenuine Expedia guest review
"Business in Dublin - this is the place!"
Ideal location for business in Dublin with good facilitiesGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very good location"
Very convenient, I was on a business trip and most of my meetings were either walking distance away or a short cab ride. CLose to O'Connell street and a 10 to 15 min walk from Temple Bar. I thought the breakfast was a bit expensive at Euro 15 as I did not have the sausages (meat) and the price was not adjusted. My first room smelt a bit smoky and I […] got another in about 5mins, very prompt service. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"great location for us"
very enjoyable and relaxing . swimming pool was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We booked an executive room and was very happy with it. The hotel is 5-10 minutes walk from the action if you want into the nightlife area of things. Lovely look out over the canal and there was an old style wooden ship just opposite side of the road. Nice place, car park is not underneath the hotel but it's only a few yards away to access it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good hotel, good location"
The hotel staff are very friendly and attentive. Where I needed help they went out of their way to do so. Hotel was being refurbished which didnt impact on our comfort but would have been nice to have had the cocktail bar open. Good location, near enough the center for business/pleasure but also quiet with local shops and an M&S for snacks etc.Genuine Expedia guest review

Good location, great stake bar, comfy beds all in all a great hotel. Only down side would be the parking, it's a five minute drive and a bit of a pain. Most city hotels of this standard would have valet Parkin..Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect for girly weekend"
Good hotel. In middle of refurbishment but our room had brand new carpets and shower. Fresh paint all over hotel. Friendly staff although they didn't know many places to go or make suggestions. "Like Fawlty Towers!"
The hotel itself is in a great location for the O2 in Dublin, and is in a nice area for exploring the city. However, the hotel was not worth the money. We paid c.£150 for what we thought would be a plush hotel for our girls night away. I would consider it like a slightly more upmarket Premier Inn. Also we had a ridiculous situation when ordering room […] service, where we received the menu, ordered, then were called back and told we couldnt have what we ordered, as the menu had changed. We re-ordered, and then received not only our second order, but also our first as well! Subsequently, we also asked for some more teabags and milk for the room, and proceeded to received a plate of teabags and two glasses of milk! We were then charged 5euros for the priviledge! Bizarre. "Beautiful stay, extremely friendly staff"
Went to see a Derren Brown show in the Grand Canal Theatre, the hotel was in a perfect location for this. Not even a 10 minute walk. Very very friendly staff and lovely clean room. Room service was a bit weak as not everything on the list was available.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Hotel for Business, but expensive"
Stayed here twice now for business as in the finance district of Dublin. The hotel is at the far end of town, so going out at night takes around 15 mins to walk to the Temple Bar Area. The food is good, but very expensive (around €20 for breakfast!). The facilities are good with the gym being well equipped and pool. However get in there before end of […] working day or around 7pm as really busy with surrounding office worker using it. Quiet hotel in business district. Short walk into town. A couple of nice cafes next doorGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel does not deserve it's 4 stars as water in swimming pool was freezing cold and not fixed for 3 days, saunas cold and dirty. Cleanliness of swimming pool bathrooms very poor. This hotel is a little outside the city centre at least a twenty minute walk to temple bar but don't let that put you off The Luas stops right outside the hotel to take you right into town! "Exceptional facilities + service in quiet location"
Excellent gym and pool facilities. Staff in the hotel are very helpful at all times, day or night. Located away from the main busy streets but only 10minutes away from O'Connell street / Henry street on the tram. This is my 4th stay here. It's my clients preferred hotel and I can see why. Great price and great accommodation. It's a bit out from the centre, but walkable. Breakfast isn't great, which has also put me off eating here in the evening + there are so many great restaurants about.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A wonderful place to stay in Dublin."
We found the staff to be excellent and most helpful in every regard,as we're the cleaning staff. Reception went out of there way to assist with any requests, one could not ask for more. The position of the hotel on the Banks of the Liffey River, walking distance to main street, could not be better. Rooms very comfortable, bed made for sleeping well.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great for anyone"
This hotel was very clean the staff were extremely welcoming. The room was immaculate and spacious tea/coffee facilities. There was even a separate coffee machine. The room had a large comfortable bed and many other extras (iron, ironing board, comfy chairs) The view was the worse thing about the hotel as I had a college opposite and no privacy unless […] curtains pulled....
