"Not bad, not great"
The worst thing about this stay is that the poolside rooms have no outdoor windows. There is a sliding glass door to the pool area, but for privacy you need to keep the curtains closed. The result feels like you're staying in a cave...Other types of rooms might be fine, though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were pleasantly surprised at the extent to which Best Western upgraded this hotel, having stayed there many years ago and having found it in sore need of an upgrade. Accommodations were nice, breakfast in the dining room was fresh and tasty (although staff seemed a little disorganized) and the location across from the Capitol was ideal.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient to Nonona Terrace Convention Center"
The rates were less than the reserved blocks of rooms at the three "convention" hotels and it was closer and more convenient than two of the three "convention" hotels.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"July stay at Madison Best Western"
Excellent location -close to the convention center with reasonable rates compared to the other nearby hotels. Our bathroom was very small and the sink did not drain. The stopper was malfunctioning. No free breakfast, but free wifi and other nice perks.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Dated hotel trumped by location"
the location of this hotel is hard to beat. But my room had a rather noisy air conditioning and the ice machines next door as well as hallway noise ( staff radios and carts bumping in elevator) made some difficulty for good night sleepGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Location of hotel was great and convenient for event we were in town for. Great valet parking for no fee. Received wrong room but hotel fixed within an hour, however did not fix key card and were locked out of our room after coming back from our event at 10:30 at night. Charged incorrect rate but was fixed upon checking out. Room temp was a bit warm […] but eventually cooled down after working with the thermostat a while. Pull out bed was uncomfortable but rest of room and beds were great. No room service on a Saturday evening. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very helpful and friendly staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
There were kids hanging out in the hallway with their room door open and TV very loud at 12am to 3am. Called front desk and it took them 20 min to come up and tell them to quiet down. Later they got loud again, not the greatest sleep that night!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was a great place to stay--the only weird part was when checking in I was asked for my AAA card. I don't have one, but luckily my girlfriend does. Great location and nice room. We were on the 9th floor, which was accessed by a separate elevator on from floors 7 or 8. An interesting set up!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This really was a wonderful place to stay in Madison. Has almost every amenity you can think of, clean, great service and perfect location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I complained about a phone's light that kept flashing, but got no service on it that evening. I threw a pair of jeans over it so I could sleep. However, beyond that, the hotel was a good value for its location--right on the Capitol Square.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Let me start by stating that I travel frequently for my job and stay in 20 - 30 hotels a year. I have stayed in Best Western Plus brand hotels before and this has to be one of the worst looking hotels I've visited. The lobby design is terrible. Mirrors went out of style back in the 80s. Once we got upstairs the hallways were dingy and sad with terrible […] lighting. The door to the room had a heavy steel door that felt like we were getting locked in a bank vault while the walls were not thick enough to support the weight of the door. The furniture in the room has a fake veneer finish you would expect out of a normal Best Western. The room was clean, and the pool looked nice but we never used it. There is no continental breakfast, but parking is complimentary valet and you can't beat the location to the Capitol Building... Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is right next to the beautiful Wisconsin state capitol building in downtown Madison. Close to stores, restaurants and bars. Great location. Very clean hotel. Very nice staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location Desirable, Hotel Detestable"
The location was perfect for our planned activities but the quality of the room was awful. The staff was helpful and friendly but these are the things we encountered once we left the desk: non-working elevators, no ability to manage temperature or fan, a window that wouldn't fully close, a bathroom door that didn't lock and knocked the dryer off the […] bathroom wall when closed, a TP holder that fell off the wall, the ability to hear the neighbors on one side argue and on the other side hear what appeared to be the makeup after a fight. If I had the ability to give it zero for condition, cleanliness and convenience I would. When we go back to Madison, we will not stay there. We will either choose a different hotel that is within the same vicinity or if necessary we will stay further out and either cab or drive in. I wouldn't even stay there if it were for free-which by no means was it even close to being inexpensive: cheap-yes, inexpensive-no. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Although the hotel was perfectly located, across from the Capital and walking distance to UW, the room was teeny and very loud (right next to the elevator). The furniture is very dated. Restaurant, however, served a fabulous breakfast, and complimentary valet parking was wonderful!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The best location in town."
Location, location, location. Madison doesn't have great public transportation, so being in downtown is important. This puts you right on the square. On a Saturday morning you walk out into one of the best farmer's markets in the world. It's a reasonable walk to Mechanics Row to rent a bike, too. The valet parking is included in your rate, and there […] were always plenty of people working. I never waited long for my car. The hotel itself is...well...a Best Western. Nothing fancy, and a bit dated, but my room was clean and the staff were nice. This is my new go-to hotel in Madison. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
room was very nice and in a great location. the only problem is the plumbing from the adjacent room was very loud and woke me upGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fun at farmer's market"
The hotel like all of Madison is bicycle friendly. Rode in Friday and enjoyed the amazing farmer's market right outside the door Saturday morning. The staff was courteous and the double queen room clean and a little largtoer than a standard hotel room. The bathroom was small but nicely equipped. The workout area was adequate the hot tub was enjoyable […] but the pool too small to swim laps. Overall great stay. Perfect to ride a bike into Madison and visit with my kids at school and enjoy the incredible farmer's market. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed here the weekend of the Madison Mini-Marathon August 18th. The location was convenient to the race start and finish and right in the middle of all the things we wanted to do. Our room faced a row of bars, but with the sliding glass door shut there was no street noise and we were able to get a good night's sleep before the race. Staff were friendly, […] price was reasonable and we were happy with our stay. As sports enthusiasts, we appreciated the good-sized gym on site and hot tub for relaxing after the race. Overall, a good value and hotel that we'd visit again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great view of the Capitol"
We chose Inn on the Park because of its close proximity to the Capitol and we were not disappointed. The assistant manager found us a room with a spectacular view of the Capitol. Although the bathroom had limited counter space, it was very clean and the lighting excellent. We had two queen-size beds with nice firm mattresses and plenty of space in the […] room. The complimentary valet parking was a nice extra. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Was here for Madison Marathon. Awesome location, close to everything! If you're looking for a premiere spot, clean rooms, excellent customer service, this is it. Just be mindful of the ice machine taking a bit on the 8th floor. Otherwise, enjoy!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was conveniently located near the Monona Terrace Convention Center where my conference was. I felt safe walking in the area and loved the great restaurants I found nearby. If ever in Madison again, I will definitely consider BW Plus Park as a 1st option.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overall: Very Good"
The bad first. The toilet was troublesome. I had to get up in the night to jiggle the handle to make it stop running. However, I did not alert the management, so it isn't really fair to dun them for something of which they might not have been aware. Then, I wanted to load my car and leave my car in the parking garage while I spent a few more hours […] in Madison. I had a luggage cart filled with my junk, and the valet parking dude handed me my key and gave me directions down a VERY STEEP loop to my car. I think he could have chipped in to help me get my stuff loaded into my car. I would have tipped generously had I been offered that courtesy. The good: The location of this hotel cannot be beat. The view of the Capitol is inspiring and breathtaking. It's an easy walk to bars, restaurants, clubs, theaters, the courthouse, etc. The windows open! I happened to be in town during the weird heatwave (in March), and the open window let in the fresh air and sounds of the city. It was great. The hotel was clean and comfortable. "BW Inn on the Park"
We happened to be visiting Madison at the same time as the state high school basketball championship. Although the city was crowded and the hotel was booked with lots of people, our room was quiet, clean and cozy. We also had a fabulous view of the state capitol. Nice!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location, location, location"
This is a wonderful older hotel in the perfect location downtown. Everything was quite nice. Only negative - In the room we stayed you could hear people in the halls and a very loud fan otherwise very nice. Great restaurants and bars all within walking distance.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel and location- horrible staff"
I have stayed at this hotel once before. I love the location and the complimentary parking is awesome. However, the restaurant is not up to par with the hotel itself. It was like a cheap diner. I also had less than great service from the staff this time. I had problems at check in and the girl who checked me in was rather rude and she didn't attempt […] to fix the problem at all. House keeping also came into our room in the morning without knocking. When I told the front at check out, the gentleman said he wasn't accountable for house keeping and ended it at that. I'm willing to go back again, but the poor service may be enough to deter me from doing so. The rooms are beautiful. The best out of any hotel in that price bracket that I have stayed at. However, the TVs are pre-1992 as we couldn't even hook up our Wii to it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"BW Inn on the Park"
Dated, but clean. Ventilation was noisy and not sure heat worked. Didn't really care, and never called it in. Great location with polite staff and they offer free valet parking (with stay). They allowed early check-in and late (noon) check out. Good value.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best deal on the capitol Square"
Good price, complimentary Valet, a pool/hot tub (although the hot tub was WAY too hot). Close to restaurants near the capitol and on State Street.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Disappointing stay and service"
We booked a poolside room weeks in advance for a family wedding in Madison. We're the parents of twin toddlers who go to bed early so we booked a poolside room with the intent of being able to have more room to roam and use the pool with the rest of the family while being close to our daughters. Our reservation was confirmed via email as being a poolside […] room. Much to our dismay and disappointment, the poolside room was not available at check-in. The front desk manager simply verbally "apologized," made no recourse to improve the situation, and stated the hotel was booked. Sure enough, all the cousins, aunts and uncles, and other family spent the night down by the pool while we were cloistered in our 4th floor room. We drove over 4 hours to spend time with the family, only to have incredibly poor customer service crash our plans. I have stayed here before and had similarly disappointing experiences. I will never stay again and don't suggest it. A small but specific complaint: the hotel smells like cheap room deodorizer/air freshener. If you have any allergies or are adverse to faux air fresheners, I wouldn't stay here. I have neither and was discomforted by the smell. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"BW Inn on the Park in Madison"
I love this hotel. Except, this last time I did not think the people were very friendly at all. I had asked for a balcony room twice and did not receive one upon entering the room. Hotels.com assured me I had one when I booked the room but I decided to call ahead and make sure and the hotel informed me I did not have one and they would reserve one for […] me at that time. In the end, they were able to accommodate the request but they were not pleasant about it and one of the employees did not even speak to us after at least two comments to him and a thank you. They were there when we needed them but they just were not friendly. However, this would not stop me from staying there. I like the balcony rooms and the location is a definite plus. "Best Western Downtown Madison, WI"
This hotel was everything it claimed and more. Some of the nicest staff I have encountered in a long time. They went out of the way to make the experience pleasant. It is also very well maintained. Would definitely recommend and visit again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"BW Plus on the Park - Madison"
We ended up in a room that had 1 Queen bed...we had expected two. For a three night stay, that was way too small for my taste. Hotel staff was awesome so if you weren't spending too much time in the room, it was great. Most rooms are larger.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small room but great service & nice quality"
I stayed here for just one night when I was visiting some friends in downtown Madison. the location is ideal - close to bars and restaurants. You are directly on the square so you can have a view of the capital building if your room is facing that direction. The valet parking is complimentary. the room and bathroom were a little small but satisfactory. […] the staff help was friendly and the restaurant connected with the hotel was all right. "My place to stay in Madison."
Hotel was clean and convenient. We were able to leave our vehicle at the hotel the entire weekend and truly enjoyed Madison and especially State Street. You are only a short walk from the University of Wisconsin. All of the staff that we came into contact with was pleasant, polite and helpful. If I ever go to Madison I will try to stay here first.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
A great hotel in the perfect location. We had four people in a suite and so were able to come and go comfortably at all hours because we could use the front room as a transitional area. It was very nice and had all the expected amenities including WiFi and Fridge. Also a lovely local cheese shop right next door and the famous farmer's market right in […] front. Great staff, great location, clean, convenient, and comfortable - but be sure to ask for a room facing out - preferable toward the Capitol Building. My only complaint was a view of roofs from an interior room. Also, there is a nice indoor pool/hot tub - but no sun deck, which would be nice in the summer.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Calling all Runners!!!"
Great location on the Capital Square in Madison. Hotel lobby and hallways not much to speak of, but room was nice and well kept. It was definitely worth the price of a room with a view, but imagine my annoyance being woken at 6:45AM by the announcer for the Madison Marathon!!!
