room was nice, bathroom a little too small. Breakfast area is way too small and breakfast items leave a lot to be desired. Went and ate breakfast out both days we were there. There were several sports teams staying and the breakfast area was no where near big enough to accommodate people.

The only complaint I have is for a non-smoking room it smelled like some one had been smoking in there. other than that it was a good stay for me.

I really enjoyed the up to date decor. The beds were comfortable and the complementary breakfast was good too. Hot items such as biscuits and gravy, eggs, and bacon were available for breakfast. I would definitely think about staying here again!

The place was clean but I found the air conditioner in the room to be loud and disruptive during the night. The pillows were flimsy and small. If you're looking for a budget hotel, sure but for business I'd prefer something more comfortable and upscale. With that said, the staff was very helpful helpful and friendly.

I loved the fact it was right next to the riverfront, the highway we came in on and the event center. The staff was friendly and the room was great...my only complaint is it said every room comes with a refrigerator and they don't :( Ps if you are hungry and in the mood for pizza order from Northern Lights...you won't be disappointed!!! :)

Very enjoyable stay, since we were going to downtown Des Moines Sat night and a concert at the Wells Arena Sunday night. Free parking which is great. It's a little tricky to get to with all the on and off ramps from Hwy 235 but with my GPS, we got there!! We would stay again.

The convenience of staying in hotel that is closer to the event center than the event parking lot is absolutely wonderful! And we thoroughly enjoyed the continental breakfast the next morning in a delightfully decorated area with plenty of seating and a nice variety of food choices. We will definitely stay there again the next time we are in town!

We got the room 705, face parking lot, scaple in the middle of the window. We asked to change the room. Lucky that we got the room 714, ( opposite the side of the room we were assigned.) It is beautiful view the capitol of Iowa, with the Iowa river, and the Chinese garden. Also view the hwy and the top of the dome of the botany garden too.

Good breakfast bar,however our room had the heat lamp bulb in the bathroom missing and the socket was rusty.Beds a little soft,but clean.Room was clean and there was a NICE TV.Staff was friendlyand helpful.

i thought for the reasonable price and great location to the Iowa fair grounds it was perfect. Very clean and the only issue we had was the toilet did not flush very well but it did flush? But that was the only problem we had

Our room smelled terrible. We were unable to move to a different room because the hotel was full. Everything else about he hotel was great. Great breakfast &surroundings.

We stayed here as we where going to the state fair. Was very close to fair grounds. Stopped there before we went to fair at noon and we where able to get into our room, was great. Front desk was friendly, helpful. Room was very clean. Beds were VERY comfortable. Complementary breakfast was very good. We enjoyed our stay and will come back again.

This was the second year we've stayed here so we could attend the Iowa State Fair for my daughter's 4-H presentation. It's location makes it close enough to get to the fair easy enough in the morning. They had a great continental breakfast with many choices, even though it was very busy that morning. Our room was comfortable enough, too.

I just wanted a hotel convenient to the Iowa State Fair. I tried to pick something close by that was reasonably priced. We got so much more. We were on the top floor facing a river and the state capitol. Just lovely. The breakfast was free and surprisingly good. Check-out time is at noon yet I could hear housekeeping knocking on people's doors at 9 a.m. It is dificult to sleep in when this is happening. A friend staying with me said someone knocked on our door even though we had the do not disturb sign up. I was sleeping at that time but it was pretty noisy in the hallway.
