I was in disbelief that I had to pay $25 a night for parking at the hotel especially after the rates I paid for the room. I also had to pay $15 for a small frig if I wanted one in the room.

Outward appearance of hotel was very good, but the actual room wasn't that great. I got very little sleep, as I've never encountered a room with such loud traffic noise. this hotel really struggles it seems about offering a restaurant and the necessary services one expects if there is a restaurant. At a business trip here in February, our entire business group returned to the hotel after a very long day in meetings to find the entire restaurant just suddenly closed for the night. The following it was opened (and full) […] but there were only a couple of staff to serve everyone in the entire restaurant. There are never more than a few choices of what is available on a menue-it is ridiculous. One of the most reasonable things about this hotel, which is not in a very good location to go elsewhere was the fact that there was a choice of an inexpensive continental breakfast (paid but reasonable) and a full breakfast buffet. Our party chose the hotel again for this reason and found THIS time, there is no choice, nor any menu available. If you want just muffin, you must pay the $10 buffet price regardless. there are no options nor any predictability about what they will offer on any given day nor does their website reflect any of this information. The staff of this hotel is very nice and tries hard at accommodating, but this is like a hotel/restaurant that can't quite decide what it wants to be, doesn't want to invest money in being, and yet presents itself as a full service hotel. This is the most reasonably-priced hotel I was able to find that was within walking distance of where I needed to go (Capitol Hill). The room was clean and comfortable and I was VERY impressed with the hotel staff. They answered all my questions, gave directions, helped with transportation, and assisted me with some copying. My wife and child enjoyed staying here. It wasn't a 5-star hotel but it kept my family warm and comfortable. The "Drop Off" only shuttle bus service was very convenient. And I jogged to the Capital within 7 minutes. McDonalds and 7 Eleven is nearby. Remember it's D.C. Watch out for thieves snatching your cell phones or handbags in the subway.

We were disappointed that only 2 breakfasts were included in the "bed and breakfast" on-line special. We were a party of 3 and that detail was not in the on-line description. Hotel was ok but the area itself was not great. It is two blocks from the Nationals baseball field and the Nsvy Yard Metro station but I was told by several local people not to come back by myself to the hotel at night by the Metro. A taxi from the Mall area was around $10. Stayed at Capitol Skyline with our 2 grandchildren. Though the trip was cut short due to Boston Marathon tragedy I cannot say enough about the hotel staff and our shortened stay. This hotel was convieniently located 10 minutes from the Verizon center, but that was the only plus. The front desk had no clue what they were talking about or what to do. They lack customer service skills. Almost got our car towed because the front desk clerk failed to give us a parking pass at check in-which I was not told about. We also asked for […] them to call a cab and we waited outside for 15 minutes and it turns out the desk NEVER called. We almost were late for the concert. Overall the front desk seemed agitated and unwilling to help us as well as others. I would never reccommend not only this hotel but also booking through hotels.com as the booked the wrong hotel in the first place and I was unable to transfer my funds to a more luxurious and friendly staff at Capitol Hill Hotel. The pool on the website was green and algae filled, which is the reason I booked here. Also, this is a classic hipster hotel, and the night we stayed the hallway smelled very strongly of weed, so don't bring your kids to this hotel if that makes you uncomfortable.

When we arrived we were given a two bed room as opposed to a single bed room as requested. The staff at the desk were very helpful and courteous, upgrading our room to the Executive suite with a king sized bed for no charge! Also, they waived the daily parking fee for the garage. Best thing was the tour services. Amenities lacking in room. No coffee/tea, had to ask for refrigerator, no guide to hotel services, one little bar of soap for both washbasin and shower. Restaurant OK but overpriced. Carpet grungy in corner under heater. But, good bed, linens, generous towels.

About a 20 minute walk from the yellow line, which goes to the airport, the Capitol Skyline is a very reasonably priced option for visiting capitol hill. The interior is well kept, and the rooms are clean and quite nice. It's a little over a mile from the capitol, and they offer a free shuttle that runs every 30 minutes throughout the day. The surrounding […] neighborhood is a little sparse, but is being heavily developed with new apartment buildings and the like, so this may change in the next few years. This was the cheapest rate we got for the downtown hotels, so we didn't expect too much. Our reservation came with free parking, and that was perfect. We used a cab to go to Georgetown (around $10 is a fare), and walked to see Capitol, White House and Lincoln Memorial. Breakfast buffet was around $8 and was great. I was really happy to find a hotel for this price in DC that was also convenient and comfortable. It's close to two metro stops and has a secure parking garage under the building. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room was so comfortable! I'd definitely stay here again.
