La Quinta Inn San Jose Airport - San Jose

I had stayed at this hotel before its updates. The rooms are dramatically improved. The gym has all new equipment. The parking lot and landscaping are still a work in progress. Prices have gone up accordingly, but rooms are high for the entire area.

Upstairs guests probably had it better, but we were on the ground floor near the lobby so we could hear crowds heading in and out all day. The breakfast was reconstituted powdered eggs and toast under a heat lamp. Since it's near the airport, you can hear planes until about 11:00pm (which may or may not bother you.)

The rooms are nicely remodeled and photograph well, but the reality of staying in the rooms is quite different. Issues include: obnoxiously loud plumbing; slow draining sinks; airplanes at ~800' from 7AM-9PM; no blankets on the bed. It looks like a motel from outside, very average looking. It was hard to find the reception. It seems they are renovating it. Some areas look unfinished. Furniture inside the room looked new. Hotel recently / currently under renovation. The front of the hotel is . The back section (which includes the fitness room and pool) is being renovated as of this review. It would be nice if they'd make a new fitness center closer to the lobby with new equipment. Other than that, it was really nice.

Bed was very comfortable. Room was clean and quiet. Could use better lighting in parking lot or a security person on duty. If my husband had not been with me, I may have felt insecure about coming in at night. Ing in after dark.

Due to the fact that we had no hot water. We only got half the use we should have. Cold showers are not our way to start the day so we did without.They should have offered some compensation.

The building is older and the decor the opposite. They are in the process of remodeling into this ultra modern and smells of paint and very cold in the hallway. Furniture was cold and uncomfortable. The bed was the typical comfortable LaQuinta bed. I was glad to leave in the morning.

The rooms were recently renovated and are lovely. The bed is good and the rooms clean. Staff was helpful. Overall, very positive experience for a close to the freeway and airport Silicon Valley hotel.

Nice room for an older hotel. Updated, with flat screen (and HDMI inputs). Rather close to the airport, which is both great and not. Drive from/to airport was ~6 minutes. Planes taking off at night were noticable, but also didn't keep me awake either. K-Cup machines in room and a desk (I was in a king bed room). Micro and fridge as well. There is also […] a room safe for laptops that is no extra charge, which was nice. I was able to fit two Thinkpads, a Kindle, and some other small electronics in it with no problem. Wireless internet was fast, and had no problems connecting. Login expires every 24 hours or so, so you have to log in via proxy again, but not a deal breaker. Overall I would recommend the room. The newly refurbished rooms look and feel great. However, construction is on-going so getting in/out is sometimes weird. They also turned off the water on me without notice, though I was showering in the middle of the day.

the bed was the best i like a little softer bed that supports but cradels u this bed did that i rested well but didnt want to get up for the plane lol cause it was comfortable ..the combo heater cooler is a wall mounted unit that we had to guess on the settings finally got it ..the bathroom was smallish tub shower and toilet in its own rsmall room sink […] and mirror in the entry hall ..2 queen beds in a larger room which was nice ..room was clean and didnt smell..we ate at ihop aprox 10 min drive however burger king is on site ...the outside security door lock was broken but room door was good electronic model with security latch inside ..coffee m,aker and small fridge in room ..so i say good place for a great rest ty La Quinta Read more

Sadly, we were in one of the unremodeled rooms. It was old and worn, but clean and okay for a night. We flew out of SJC the next morning. My real complaint is that this La Quinta billed itself as remodeled, and that's not entirely true. Ensure you request the remodeled part!

Hotel was under renovation in the block I stayed in, and altough corridor had a strong smell of paint the room didn't. I think once the renovations are finished I think it will be an extremely nice, convenient hotel for the sirport to stay in and I would certainly consider staying there again, especially as it has a free shuttle to and from the air […] port. La Quinta Inn was right by the SJC airport. We called the hotel & then sent their shuttle right over to pick us up & then returned us promptly to the airport the next morning. They were in the midst of remodeling some rooms. This left dust all over the hallways and was noisy from early in the morning. The bathrooms were unreliable and the 2nd night the ceiling in the bathroom started leaking. 2" gap under the door which let in all the noise. Every time a car started in the parking lot it woke me up. Room was about 85 degrees when I got there, a/c was off. Turned it on but the thermostat was messed up and it wouldn't get below low 80's in the room. Shower head is maybe 5 feet off the ground. Tub was in terrible shape. This hotel is close to the Airport (30 min walk). Sound from the airplanes does not bother — only heard it when outside of the hotel. The room included a sofa as well -- not so often met in 2 star hotels.

With this bad location (near airport), the noise is not too bad for the Hotel, they all have double windows. i feel like a home every time I was back to the hotel from outside.

Avoid this property because it sits directly in the flight path of a busy runway; so you get the experience of jumbo jets landing and taking off a few hundred feet above your head every ten minutes or so throughout the entire Day and most of the night.

Right next to the airport and 101 freeway, the hotel is a convenient jumping off point for getting around town. The rooms are not luxurious, but they are nice and they're clean (great for the price). Hotel picked me up at the airport and delivered me back to the airport to pick up rental car the next day. Hotel was basic and clean. No problems. Close to the airport. Burger King within walking distance. Hotel breakfast was good. Staff was pleasant and helpful.

The air conditioning unit was so noisy, everytime it came on it woke us up. It sounded like a big factory. Luckily the beds were very comfortable that I kept falling back to sleep, but I didn't feel very rested the next morning.

The hotel is under renovation which was not noted on the expedia website. I was originally put in a room in the building being renovated. My first room was a disaster!. Filthy carpet, chipped bathtub and outdated TV (probably from the late 80's early 90's) and a barking dog in the room across the hall. The staff and place was so friendly. The hotel was going through renovation and it's going to be really modern and cool when it's done. The room was large, updated and clean. The only reason I didn't rate higher was because when we arrived to our room, there were approximately 14 people, some adults, some teenagers and some kids and even a dog loitering […] in the hallway right outside our room. They were playing kick-ball, running around, screaming, laughing, carrying on to the hilt. Even the dog was barking. It was shocking. Even after opening my door and staring them all down a couple times with the evil eye they wouldn't quit. So I had to call the front desk and they were great at handling it...the group went away that night 15 min later...but they were back in full force the next morning starting at 8am...bouncing balls on the walls and throwing them down the stairs, shaking our room every time the ball hit the wall in the hallway.
