    Staff very friendly in both hotel and restaurant. Hotel halls fun to walk in with fantastic art on many, many walls. Nice improvement over other hotels.... Maybe the upper room floors are a bit too colored or dark in my opinion. We loved the feeling, walking the main floor, and stopping to admire the old world art pictures and paintings. Would have enjoyed a swim in the pool area, but didn't have time. It would be perfect in summer with the beach a step away and hot tub etc. so close by. Hope to be back soon in hot weather by Ron  from Winnipeg on 05/08/13

    Everything was very good except our room was very hot. I know that it was -30 outside but the room was still too hot. We did open the paio doors to cool off the room.

    Gimli's a great road-trip getaway for city-slickers! Great local restaurants and cafe's; location of the hotel right on the beach. My only complaint: the staff is too snooty & demeaning to their guests. I realize the hotel is popular, but that doesn't give any of the staff to be that disrespectful.     Was so looking forward to a little getaway, and was so disapointed. The carpet was stained everywhere. The room was dusty, Patio screen door was broken. Hair all over the bathroom floor. Glass rings on the end tablefrom the previous guests. All in all, we will never stay there again. It was disgusting.

    Great location...great front staff...Kim, Suz. Food was really good. Nice staff in bar and dining area. Rooms are looking a little tired..needs some tlc. Hear that the new section is very nice but haven't had the pleasure of seeing that. Overall a very friendly place...good people. We will go back for sure.

    reserved there because we were getting a suite with view of the lake and a balcony, well we got the room with a balcony but the only one that we couldn't sit on because they put a high wood fence that in front of your patio door so you couldn't get on it!!!!! What a waste such a beautiful view and couldn't sit on it! Went down and complained about it […] and said we were so disappointed they said they were completely booked and the only other room available would be one with the harbour view, when I asked if we could see the water she said only if you're sitting on the balcony, so we took it because the whole idea was the balcony. So we get to our new room open the patio door and surprise this balcony too is blocked with a wooden fence!!! went back a the front desk told the girl who seemed surprised that this one too was blocked you would think they know which one is or not!! so went back to the first room at least we had the view but had to stand a the patio door!! never will we go back there especially that i brought my family visiting from Quebec and they were all excited about the balcony on the lake!!!     The best the staff was amazing a great time for summer or a winter getaway. Everything is there Robin's donuts, shops, pool, restaurant and bar. I wish I could live there.

    We stayed at this location approx. 10 yrs ago and since that time they have not changed the "wallpaper" in the halls, upgraded the carpet, still use double beds, etc etc. It is tired and needs a makeover.
