"Best Birthday Gift Ever at the Marconi Hotel"
Staff make you feel welcome and comfortable. Very friendly and create an ambiance to make you feel like your at your own home. Only downside is no elevator, but this is soon forgotten with all the great qualities both the hotel and location have to offer.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent location to everything in Venice"
Excellent locationGenuine Expedia guest review
Good location! near everything or walkable distance and very friendly staff. Bathroom was nice and clean, everything small but clean. Beds a bit hard but all ok. They even put two double beds for us to stay all together with the kids. Not bad for Venetian standards! Breakfast was very complete and very good.Genuine Expedia guest review
This is a wonderful hotel - no complaints about anything. I was concerned about the size of the room after many of the reviews I had read, but ours had plenty of room. the bathroom was excellent. The breakfast very good and copious. The personnel couldn't have been more helpful and nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was delightful and the staff very helpful and polite. It was a great location for all the attractions in Venice. At times the hotel was a little noisy but the rooms were comfortable if a little basic, but good value.Genuine Expedia guest review
A great hotel for a mini-break...excellent location, friendly staff, very cleanGenuine Expedia guest review

"Authentic Venice decor, near Rialto bridge"
We traveled from Montreal, and stayed for 3 days in a 4 bed bedroom, and got 4 single beds. Room was small, but this is normal for Europe, and specially Venice. It’s relatively comfortable, clean, good breakfast, air conditioned, safe naborhood, well located to walk all over Venice. Note that there are no elevators and we were on the 4th floor, which […] was ok for us, but may not be for others. Our only complaint is that WiFi only worked 1 day out of 3, and front desk attitude was ok but not excellent. We also purchased the vaporetto pass which allowed us to travel by boat and visits different islands (Murano, Burano and San Lazzaro), and a bus ride to the airport. In short we liked the Hotel and Venice. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"An adequate hotel in a good location."
The rooms were small. Some had inadequate windows and views. The en suite facities were good, but rather small. There was no lift and our room was on the fourth floor. (Hard work for elderly people or those with restricted mobility.)There is no hotel bar or dining room. (There are plenty of other restaurants and bars nearby.)The location is good, on […] the canal near the Rialto bridge. Readily accessible by water taxi. (Private water taxis from the Airport are not cheap!) Room prices seem fair by the standards of the city: Venice is expensive! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We paid for a superior room, which was valid on the basis that the normal rooms were smaller and had windows that opened onto internal areas - not courtyards, just small ventilation shafts. Our windows opened onto a narrow alley, but not a particularly attractive one. The bed was hard, as were the pillows. On the other hand, the location was excellent, […] just yards from the Rialto Bridge, the staff were very helpful and polite, the breakfasts were more than adequate with a good range of choice and reasonable quality. "A great location."
Very close to the Rialto Bridge and Market. There are good back-street bars & restaurants around the corner. I cannot comment on the double rooms as I stayed in a single. It was quite small and without facilities for making hot drinks. The bathroom was well maintained but the bath itself was tiny. Some of the staff on the desk did not seem to have any […] interest in their jobs and were off-hand at times. On one occasion the chap was too busy on his private phone to answer my greeting. If you are able to cope with minor disappointments it is a great spot to enjoy a wonderful City. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The staff are totally unhelpful and rude. This place is located in the most crowded tourist area in the city... so they don't care if they have your business ever again because they know they'll get others. The rooms are more like prison cells, and the hotel has an foul odor. The room is so unpleasant that I will never NEVER stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"close to the vaperato, clean hotel."
The hotel was clean and in good location. But there is no elevator, and there are no vegetables in breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very conveniently Located BUT....."
Marconi is very conveniently located, just 2nd ferry stop from the terminal. BUT, the ferry guys will tell you that its the 2nd stop, but some said 3rd stop. and the local will tell you no, its the 2nd. Well, we traveled half of Venice (well, almost) with 3 huge luggages, wiggling in the small alley to because I listen to the boat man, who said alight […] at 3rd stop. Grrr... To cut the story short, we were exhausted by the time we reach the hotel, you have to look carefully for the Name of the hotel, its along a stretch of restaurants. Not very friendly staff, of coz (but the local there were quite helpful though) but the worse part is, they do not have a lift... we had to climb 4 level up with the luggages.... They didnt give us the river facing room as agreed even though the occupany rate was low (we didnt bother asking anyway). All these were enough to kill our mood and we slept through the afternoon after that. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location with family rooms"
Good hotel right in the centre of Venice, Functional with old venetian charm. Would benefit from kettle, tea, coffee making facilities in room. Good value for money for time of booking and great to have the offer of a family room.Genuine Expedia guest review

Hotel small but comfortable and very close to all interesting sites. Superb breakfast and staff very helpfulGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location, location and not much else."
The location is excellent - on the Grand Canal just near the Rialto bridge. This is also one of the few spots where you can dine on the edge of the Grand Canal. There are a number of fine restaurants right outside the hotel door. It's the location you are paying for. The hotel itself is tired, needs better decoration, needs maintenance and needs better […] management of the staff. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Ideal location, just steps to the Rialto Bridge. Our room on arrival was very small but we upgraded and had a lovely room, so would ask about size of room but otherwise we had a wonderful stay. The staff was helpful and friendly and no language issues at all. 10 minute water taxi to train station and easy walking distace to St. Mark's and anywhere else […] we wanted to go. Breakfast was good. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Wonderful location on the Grand Canal next to the Rialto bridge and the brilliant, atmospheric market; also a well-furnished room. For the high price, though, you would expect a bar, a lounge, room service; you would NOT expect a tiny room that looks out on a dark alley (you could just about glimpse a narrow strip of blue sky if you got right up to […] the window and twisted your head upwards) and which therefore felt like a gloomy cell. When we checked out, the receptionist didn't ask us if we'd enjoyed our stay at the hotel. No doubt she knew what the answer would be. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
My husband and I didn't stay long in Venice and only spent a night at the hotel. The service and the hotel was good. It had an authentic feel to it and we were very pleased with their breakfast. It's a nice place to stay in for few days.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"What a mistake"
I think I had the smallest room available . I was on my own and I felt because of this I was put anywhere, I was given no help with my luggage a woman on her own had to struggle up the stairs. Disappointed.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to Rialto"
Enjoyed the stay - would suggest anyone staying at this hotel to use the water bus stops on the same side of the canal as the hotel rather than the Rialto stop on the other side - especially when arriving with heavy luggage. Hauling luggage over the Rialto bridge not a good idea.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, be aware some staff quite surly!"
Room clean, toilet/bathroom clean. Breakfast area clean. Some staff not very helpful, would not let us use computer or help us check in on line for departure flights! Wanted to charge us 5 euros. Breakfast staff very surly all weekend. Guests were noisy we were in a room above the breakfast room & staff were slamming crockery from 0700 onwards! Scrapping […] chairs & furniture. The positive side was location of hotel very good, would recommend being away from kitchen end. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Marconi hotel venice"
This hotel is next to the famous rialto bridge a land mark in venice and it is right in the middle of the grand canel so it is ideal for walking the length and breast of venice with a central location. The beds are on the small side so if your are a large or tall person you may wish to find a diffrent hotel. The staff where ok,and faxed 7 pages to london […] for me free of charge. There are no lifts in the hotel so if like me you suffer from a bad back and are on the 3rd floor you may need to book a 1st floor room. The hotel is oppersite the public boat taxi transferr station and for a fee of 15 euros per person will take you back to the airport which takes 45 mins.Overall i would stay at this hotel again but more for its location. "Hotel Marconi, Venice"
Stunning perfect location. Breakfast is superb. Room cleaned every day, spotless. Room was through the breakfast room and hard to find at first. Ground floor next to small street so quite noisy in the early mornings but adequate and still good value-for-money. Overall very happy with the hotel. Not one bad thing to say.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Venice March 2012"
The central location is superb near to the vaporetto and many restaurants. However the weather was particularly hot for the time of year ( end of March) and the air con did not work as they do not switch it on until summer. We had to sleep with the windows open which was very noisy. Ok Venice effectively shuts down fairly early but the restaurants below […] had to clear up at night and set up again in the morning hence all the noise at just the wrong times. Also near the water means mozzies and they bite me incessently so I always travel with all precautions but still they got me. A plus point was the hotel did provide a plug in repelent which did supplement my own. The breakfast was good but not the cooked stuff which was unappetising and poor quality. That said the bread rolls etc were fresh and there was a good choice of juice, fruit and jams. The coffee was good which is always a bonus. The rooms were not the biggest but were adequate and there was sufficient room to put things. The bathroom was clean and functional with an adequate supply of towels. The building is old, it is after all, Venice so no real complaints. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel Marconi recommended."
Great central location which was the main reason for choosing this hotel. Good buffet breakfast which is on until 10am everyday. The room wasn't huge but perfectly adequate with a clean bathroom and plenty of wardrobe space with a safe. Nice to have minibar & fridge (no tea & coffee, we took travel kettle). Hotel is an old building which has character […] ie wooden shutters, traditional concrete floors. The only downside is that is can be noisy for light sleepers - I was woken by showering next door and people scraping chairs across the floor in the room below. We would stay here again but ask not to have the room directly above the breakfast room. Overall, good value hotel for a city break when you're out & about all day, recommended. "A few great staff..."
The location was the main reason I chose this hotel, it is very close to the water bus stations. - There were two Filipino staff that made the world of difference - extremely helpful and hard working. As an ex-hotelier, I strongly recommend the management to give them some incentive to continue their great work, very hard to find these days. - The bathroom […] worth a mention too. Good size and again, the staff did a great job tidying it every day. - The breakfast was great. Great choices. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel Marconi, be cautious"
Like every other review the location is great however almost every hotel in Venice seems to have a great location so don't be concerned about that. The hotel was fine BUT we upgraded to a room with a late checkout and in room internet yet we had to check out like everyone else and there was no internet service in our room. After talking with the front […] desk staff they simply ignored the issue and charged us for the upgrades anyway. There are a lot of scams in Venice and this is just another one to avoid. Another tip, don't eat at the hotel restaurant, the food quality is terrible plus the portions are tiny and of course it's over priced compared to a lot of places to eat in Venice. "Poor service & noisy"
The place is right in the hearth of Venice, and you can walk anywhere from there. But the staff don't like to help, we could not book any tours from the hotel desk. They advertise free internet to the room but claim it just broke down today. but offer a second line which cost 8 euros per hour. We had a room that small you could not swing a cat in it, […] and right next to restaurant kitchen. So it is impossible to keep the window open at night, but the air-con does not work right it would not cool. You can guess that sleeping was nearly impossible. I would recommend this hotel only to young people who stay up all night and only sleep in the morning till lunch time. And don't expect a bit of comfort. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Was a little nervous about arriving at hotel after reading recent reviews but need not have worried. Fantastic location right next to Rialto Bridge so got off waterbus just opposite, and also some very good restaurants right outside. Because of location it is pretty noisy but we expected this. "Hotel Marconi - Calle San Paulo, Venice Italy"
Location of Hotel is ideal and excellent. Only drawback is No Lift and is too difficult to climb till 4th floor where I was allotted a room. House keeping and restaurant staff is common and were very much helpful. Only bad experience we had during our check-out was a lady at reception is very much arrogant didn’t allow a single minute to stay after […] 1200 noon which is check-out time of hotel, and was adamant to charge Euro.50/- if we do not vacate the room before 1205 hrs. only good thing about hotel is its excellent location. Searching any other hotel at this location is better!! room on third floor. No lift. Room too small. We loved Venice and the location of Marconi is perfect, close to Rialto bridge makes everything accessable.Vaporettos and gondolas right outside hotel made getting to station very easy.Great breakfast room and ample breakfast ,many restaurants both sides of bridge made dining easy. "Location is unbeatable"
Right by the Rialto bridge, you really are in the heart of Venice. The room was more like a closet, and the breakfast was nothing special, but when you stepped out of the hotel, you were right on the Grand Canale. If you are looking just to sleep at night in Venice, and explore the rest of the time, this is the perfect spot.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
