"Japanese way of service"
Everything was nice, yet I was not too happy for the room that I spent 5 nights. The room has a ocean view and overlooking swimming pool. It was located the corner of building that was triangle shape, so that sun never hit inside , it was cold and dark all day. Also, sundeck never had bright light from sun, some people like this but I needed a lot of […] sunshine. Otherwise, service and quality were the best. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Our 5th visit here."
Our room location was just ok. The hotel was not full but our room was just above the fitness center and the location could have been better. Our bathroom sink backed up at least once a day when we were not using it. The backup left tons of debris that we wiped out on our own daily. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay. "Great hotel with wonderful staff"
We stayed at Halekulani in January and had a great time. The pool and hotel feels secluded (which is a feat given how busy the area is) but yet you're close to everything if you want to get out. Every member of the staff we interacted with went above and beyond to make our stay special. Highly recommended.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A longtime promise."
I was in Waikiki 20 years ago and vowed that if I ever returned, I would stay at Halekulani. The wait was more than worth it as it was all I expected and more. The hotel is a beautiful facility in every way and our stay was wonderful. Attention to detail is their watchword and the staff is exquisitely prepared and polite. It is a 10 carat diamond property […] located in view of the island's own Diamond Head landmark. You will not be disappointed with this gem of a hotel destination. Aloha! Amazing hotel with beyond 5 star service. The entire staff was terrific! When booking and staying at the hotel request away from front of hotel as it is very noisy in the morning with the garbage trucks coming and going early. Any rooms in the Diamond Tower are beautiful and have gorgeous views of Diamond Head. Food fabulous but expect as much as $100 […] or more per person for dinner if you have wine or a cocktail. La Mer is classic French and wonderful, but beware of the cost of wine by the bottle. Best to order by the glass and not be surprised as we were. The most beautiful pool you'll ever see. Brunch is pricey but well worth it and the choices will fill you up through dinner! We loved the nightly live music at sunset. Pure heaven. Bring your best coverup and be ready to see lots of Louis, Chanel, Prada and YSL walking around. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location, location, location."
Location is the best part of staying at Halekulani. It's conveniently located in the heart of Waikiki, across from Nobu (amazing sushi), and lots of high-end shopping. The staff, amenities were all fine (I would peg it at a 4-star, not 5-star hotel), but the overall feel inside the Halekulani is dated.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"5-Star Standard Is Questionable"
I think the service level and the hotal location are at 5-star level, but the facility and its amenities are not at 5-star level. In comparison to Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons hotels, Halekulani is not up to that their 5-star standard. If Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons hotels were nearby, I doubt that I would prefer Halekulani over these hotels.Genuine Expedia guest review

"An amazing experience all round"
This was our first time in Hawaii and as we we're having a wedding ceremony and joint honeymoon, chose Halekulani. The room was beautiful, overlooking the pool and with a clear and almost direct view of the sea. The service was absolutely impeccable; from the concierge who went out of their way to help with any request we had, in-room dining who allowed […] us to have early breakfasts brought up to us and arranged for a bottle of champagne with chocolate strawberries on our wedding day to the restaurant staff whose service was absolutely magnificent. "outstanding service & location."
if you are looking for a serene, relaxing place, Halekulani is the place to be. Hotel is located right in the middle of busy Waikiki but hotel is quiet and so serene, you wouldn't even know you were in such a busy place. LOVE LOVE LOVE Halekulani and can't wait to go back.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Well worth for the money"
The hotel is not surrounded by a tall wall, but rather open to Waikiki beach and street. Despite that the hotel facility is not structurally isolated from the street or beach, the hotel is quiet and has an exclusive atmosphere for hotel guests only. Well worth for the money.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Best hotel on Waikiki Beach"
While the level of service does not approach that of, say, Park Hyatt Tokyo, it's altogether fine and surely puts all other establishments on Waikiki Beach to shame.Genuine Expedia guest review
This was our second trip to Hawaii. The first was on Kona and very different than Oahu. Our first was very isolated at a large resort. Not alot of places to eat at or shop other than the resort. This time, everything was a short walk from the hotel. We ate breakfast at the hotel and the food was amazing, great selection. Even though I was expecting […] it to be expensive, it was a bit of a price shock. The staff was so nice and greet us with a smile from the pool to the cleaning. The view from our room (even though it was a garden room) had the ocean with waves, surfers included. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great Getaway hotel"
Awesomeness service for five days straight. If the privacy light was on the staff would left a gift.Genuine Expedia guest review
The Halekulani is one of, if not the nicest, hotel in Waikiki. We walked through most of the hotels on the ocean side, and this hotel was the most comfortable and had the best ambiance of any of the hotels we saw. We have been going to Hawaii for over 30 years, and have never had such a wonderful experience as the Halekulani. As well, we felt quite […] safe with their security and the entire staff was very welcoming and obliging. We will definitely go back there again! Aloha! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great hotel for singles and couples"
I stayed at the Halekulani during spring break, 1-7 April 2013. I was alone and wanted a quiet and safe hotel to stay at, and the Halekulani delivered. The hotel is clean and well kept. It is beautiful and is off the the the main street, but is witihin walking distance to all of the major shopping areas and beach. The staff was very accomodating and […] assisted me with every request I asked for. My room was always cleaned and stocked with bottled water and ice every day. The only negative was the lack of entertainment at the hotel. I was single and had to venture out to other hotels for excitement. Their is a Jazz room at the hotel and it is definitely worth visiting, but other than that not much going on for those looking for fun after a long day on the beach and shopping. This is a nice hotel for those wanting elegance w/o the pomp and circumstance, not a place for those wanting a party and noise. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Beautiful and luxurious hotel with 5 star service"
Beautiful and immaculately maintained hotel. At every turn, the service was impeccable. This part of Waikiki Beach has no beach. The waves wash up against the wall around the grounds. The hotel has carved out a rectangular area into their property, about 30 feet wide, which at a stretch could be called a private beach. But this lack of beach detracted […] very little from the beauty and enjoyment of the hotel, for us. A short walk in either direction brings you to a large though busy beach. Ocean front is not ocean front, at least not our room. Very disappointed. Can not sleep with doors open to hear ocean either because anyone can go to balcony to balcony.Genuine Expedia guest review
we have stayed here multiple times and have never felt welcome. We love the ambiance of the setting so we stay but the staff is not welcoming. We had to fight for a better room even though we had an AX platinum card and booked the room and was guaranteed an upgrade if there was room. The hotel was not even close to full and they initially gave us a […] room that they said was ocean view. One had to stand on the balcony and stretch to see the view. it was insulting. We complained and they finally gave us a decent room. BUT for those prices we should feel welcome and not have to fight, especially since they knew it was our anniversary. Quality hotel but in a very urban noisy environmentGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great serene location in the heart of Honolulu. Lacks "Hawaiian" feel, not much "aloha" spirit. Lots of weddings:(Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I had always seen reviews about this place on TV and on the internet, but until you stay here you can only imagine. The hotel itself is not that large, but the atmosphere, service and overal feeling is one that you enjoy wherever you go on the grounds. The rooms are well appointed with nice views, the restaurants are all excellent...where else can you […] have breakfast eatting Kalua pork hash (fantastic!) listening to the waves with Diamond head off to your left...or evening dinner with a local Hawaiian band playing with a beautiful sunset. The staff was all friendly and made sure your every need was taken care of. I really hated to leave, but someday will be back. The only minus is the small beach area, and that didn't matter as the larger part of Waikiki beach is just a short stroll away. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I thought I could meet hight quality service from Halekulani. After spending another hotel in big island. We almost spent same amount of room charge in both hotels. "I want to return"
The hotel is in a great position and all the staff are very, very friendly. This is one of the best hotels in Waikiki and we will return for another stay. He had a 7 month old and requested a ground floor room. They were fully booked for our first two nights but moved us for the remanding 5 of our stay. We went out shopping and came back and all our […] bags had been moved into our new room, it was hassle free. All the staff we very friendly and attentive. The pool is great as is the little beach in front of the hotel. The hotel food is good, however the pool side offering is pretty limited. The hotel has no beach club but the Sheraton next do does and you can hire surf boards and all sorts or things there. Its a large hotel but one of the better resorts I have stayed at. "location is unmatched"
Great experience all around #1 place to stay but not eat in Waikiki. Since the hotel is surrounded by streets of great restaurants, there are many better choices to eat than at the hotel. The call-out issue is the breakfast cost was NOT included with our 6 night stay. We saw dozens of families during the week with small children at the breakfast buffet […] at the hotel, so we figured out that as a matter of principal no parent will pay USD$40.00 for their three year old to eat breakfast when there is a Denny's across the street. Were offered NO plan including any extras.. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not bad, but not as expected"
I felt the service was not perfect sometimes. The response was not quick, the restaurant service was not good.Genuine Expedia guest review
We just returned from the Halekulani, where we stayed for our honeymoon for a little less than 1 week. This was, by far, the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Request an Ocean View room, on a high floor -- you can listen to the ocean while you fall asleep! The staff were extremely accomodating and even let us check out late (6PM) at no extra charge, […] though we did have to move rooms because someone was coming to stay in our original room (definitely not a problem). Concierge desk was very helpful as well, as they can help plan activities for the day with you. House Without a Key restaurant was our favorite...we'd go down there in the evenings and spend time listening to the Hawaiian music and hula while sipping on the best Mai Tai in the world. SpaHalekulani is also absolutely exquisite. They can accommodate couples for massages in the couples sweet, and your massage ends with a mochi ice cream treat and tea. So relaxing! The only downside of the hotel was that it is very expensive. However, given this special occasion for us, we splurged and don't regret it at all! "Treated like royalty"
This is possibly the best hotel experience we've had. Sadly, we stayed only one night. All staff were gracious, more than accommodating. The room was large, spotlessly clean, elegant. As we left the hotel for a quick walk, bellmen and valets asked if we needed water for the walk. We had room service for dinner, which was excellent and the service outstanding […] and gracious. We've stayed at many 5-star hotels, and this is a 6-star! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is in a great location, nicely renovated and the staff is extremely friendly. The hotel and pool area is peaceful as it doesn't cater to children. The one complaint I have is that the hotel is SMOKE FREE and there are signs indicating that, but right in front of the sign is a bench and 2 ashtrays for people to smoke. The openness of the hotel […] allows the smoke to drigt right in. The smoking location should be moved as to not make those of us who are nonsmokers have to walk through the smoke cloud. "Expected more for the money...."
Nice service, nice location. Hotel is in need of up-dating and is WAY overpriced!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"well worth the price!"
I chose this hotel based on the fact that the service is supposed to be great and it was!!! Everyone had a smile and was very accomodating! My favorite part was how when you go to the pool there are "pool boys" who meet you and set up towels for you on your chair- that made us feel very special! Orchids restaurant was fantastic and the service was superb! […] Drinks and food are pricey but, what do you expect for Hawaii. My only complaints were that there is no hot tub and no real "beach"- there is access to the beach but, not one directly in front of the hotel. In front of the hotel the water hits and there is a barrier between the pool and beach. My main complaint was the room- it was overall clean but, VERY dated. The bed was very average and the thing I really disliked was the bathroom "door" it was nothing more than a sliding closet door that you could hear everything through- The hotel just started construction 2 days before we got there and the new rooms should be complete by June of 2012- That being said I would DEF recommend this hotel and stay there again :) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice location in Waikiki"
Had an ocean front room which had no benefit for the additional cost over an ocean view room that another family member had. There was an additional daily charge for a roll away bed for our son. Rooms are a little dated but overall comfortable, although found the king sized bed a little soft for our liking. Lack of shaded chairs around the pool due […] to an overall lack of umbrellas. Most chairs with any shade were taken by mid morning which meant we spent less time around the pool than we had at the other hotel we stayed in in the area prior to the Halekulani. Ate at La Mer which was overpriced compared to other high end restaurants we went to in the area. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
