"Halekulani"
Amazing hotel with beyond 5 star service. The entire staff was terrific! When booking and staying at the hotel request away from front of hotel as it is very noisy in the morning with the garbage trucks coming and going early. Any rooms in the Diamond Tower are beautiful and have gorgeous views of Diamond Head. Food fabulous but expect as much as $100 or more per person for dinner if you have wine or a cocktail. La Mer is classic French and wonderful, but beware of the cost of wine by the bottle. Best to order by the glass and not be surprised as we were. The most beautiful pool you'll ever see. Brunch is pricey but well worth it and the choices will fill you up through dinner! We loved the nightly live music at sunset. Pure heaven. Bring your best coverup and be ready to see lots of Louis, Chanel, Prada and YSL walking around.

"Location, location, location."
Location is the best part of staying at Halekulani. It's conveniently located in the heart of Waikiki, across from Nobu (amazing sushi), and lots of high-end shopping. The staff, amenities were all fine (I would peg it at a 4-star, not 5-star hotel), but the overall feel inside the Halekulani is dated.

"5-Star Standard Is Questionable"
I think the service level and the hotal location are at 5-star level, but the facility and its amenities are not at 5-star level. In comparison to Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons hotels, Halekulani is not up to that their 5-star standard. If Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons hotels were nearby, I doubt that I would prefer Halekulani over these hotels.

"An amazing experience all round"
This was our first time in Hawaii and as we we're having a wedding ceremony and joint honeymoon, chose Halekulani. The room was beautiful, overlooking the pool and with a clear and almost direct view of the sea. The service was absolutely impeccable; from the concierge who went out of their way to help with any request we had, in-room dining who allowed us to have early breakfasts brought up to us and arranged for a bottle of champagne with chocolate strawberries on our wedding day to the restaurant staff whose service was absolutely magnificent.

if you are looking for a serene, relaxing place, Halekulani is the place to be. Hotel is located right in the middle of busy Waikiki but hotel is quiet and so serene, you wouldn't even know you were in such a busy place. LOVE LOVE LOVE Halekulani and can't wait to go back.

"Well worth for the money"
The hotel is not surrounded by a tall wall, but rather open to Waikiki beach and street. Despite that the hotel facility is not structurally isolated from the street or beach, the hotel is quiet and has an exclusive atmosphere for hotel guests only. Well worth for the money.

"Wonderful Stay"
This was our second trip to Hawaii. The first was on Kona and very different than Oahu. Our first was very isolated at a large resort. Not alot of places to eat at or shop other than the resort. This time, everything was a short walk from the hotel. We ate breakfast at the hotel and the food was amazing, great selection. Even though I was expecting it to be expensive, it was a bit of a price shock. The staff was so nice and greet us with a smile from the pool to the cleaning. The view from our room (even though it was a garden room) had the ocean with waves, surfers included.

"Excellent!"
The Halekulani is one of, if not the nicest, hotel in Waikiki. We walked through most of the hotels on the ocean side, and this hotel was the most comfortable and had the best ambiance of any of the hotels we saw. We have been going to Hawaii for over 30 years, and have never had such a wonderful experience as the Halekulani. As well, we felt quite safe with their security and the entire staff was very welcoming and obliging. We will definitely go back there again! Aloha!

"Great hotel for singles and couples"
I stayed at the Halekulani during spring break, 1-7 April 2013. I was alone and wanted a quiet and safe hotel to stay at, and the Halekulani delivered. The hotel is clean and well kept. It is beautiful and is off the the the main street, but is witihin walking distance to all of the major shopping areas and beach. The staff was very accomodating and assisted me with every request I asked for. My room was always cleaned and stocked with bottled water and ice every day. The only negative was the lack of entertainment at the hotel. I was single and had to venture out to other hotels for excitement. Their is a Jazz room at the hotel and it is definitely worth visiting, but other than that not much going on for those looking for fun after a long day on the beach and shopping. This is a nice hotel for those wanting elegance w/o the pomp and circumstance, not a place for those wanting a party and noise.

"Beautiful and luxurious hotel with 5 star service"
Beautiful and immaculately maintained hotel. At every turn, the service was impeccable. This part of Waikiki Beach has no beach. The waves wash up against the wall around the grounds. The hotel has carved out a rectangular area into their property, about 30 feet wide, which at a stretch could be called a private beach. But this lack of beach detracted very little from the beauty and enjoyment of the hotel, for us. A short walk in either direction brings you to a large though busy beach.

"Halekulani"
we have stayed here multiple times and have never felt welcome. We love the ambiance of the setting so we stay but the staff is not welcoming. We had to fight for a better room even though we had an AX platinum card and booked the room and was guaranteed an upgrade if there was room. The hotel was not even close to full and they initially gave us a room that they said was ocean view. One had to stand on the balcony and stretch to see the view. it was insulting. We complained and they finally gave us a decent room. BUT for those prices we should feel welcome and not have to fight, especially since they knew it was our anniversary.

"Hotel Heavan"
I had always seen reviews about this place on TV and on the internet, but until you stay here you can only imagine. The hotel itself is not that large, but the atmosphere, service and overal feeling is one that you enjoy wherever you go on the grounds. The rooms are well appointed with nice views, the restaurants are all excellent...where else can you have breakfast eatting Kalua pork hash (fantastic!) listening to the waves with Diamond head off to your left...or evening dinner with a local Hawaiian band playing with a beautiful sunset. The staff was all friendly and made sure your every need was taken care of. I really hated to leave, but someday will be back. The only minus is the small beach area, and that didn't matter as the larger part of Waikiki beach is just a short stroll away.

"Poor service,,, waiting for tips"
I thought I could meet hight quality service from Halekulani. After spending another hotel in big island. We almost spent same amount of room charge in both hotels. Halekulani is well know as good location and quality services. Since Oahu is busy island, hotel staff cannot find out who is staying hotel. Even very famouse restaurant in Halekulani, server doesnt have smile on their face and waiting for just a good tip. Hotel itself is very clean and beautiful but service is not enough from their room charge.

"I want to return"
The hotel is in a great position and all the staff are very, very friendly. This is one of the best hotels in Waikiki and we will return for another stay. He had a 7 month old and requested a ground floor room. They were fully booked for our first two nights but moved us for the remanding 5 of our stay. We went out shopping and came back and all our bags had been moved into our new room, it was hassle free. All the staff we very friendly and attentive. The pool is great as is the little beach in front of the hotel. The hotel food is good, however the pool side offering is pretty limited. The hotel has no beach club but the Sheraton next do does and you can hire surf boards and all sorts or things there. Its a large hotel but one of the better resorts I have stayed at.

"Wonderful time at the Halekulani"
My husband & I recently got married on Oahu and enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Halekulani. We booked a room with ocean glimpses but really we had an uninterrupted view of the ocean plus a view of the beautiful pool area. The service is second to none without being intrusive, plus the added touches of chocolates in the evenings to a complimenary bottle of champagne from the manager to celebrate our wedding was a beautiful gesture. We'll never forget our stay at the Halekulani and will recommend it to everyone.

"Great Stay"
We had a great stay at the Halekulani - room was spacious & clean - bathroom very large. We enjoyed pre dinner cocktails each night watching the band. Only 2 minor things when we opened the mouthwash in the box in the bathroom it had already been used .... And the shower cap was not replaced once it was used - so a little more care from housekeeping wouldn't go astray. Bed very comfortable and breakfast was great!!

"Halekulani - Ultimate Luxury"
We stayed at the Halekulani for 10nights as part of our Honeymoon. The staff were amazing as soon as we arrived and nothing was too much trouble. The concierge helped us with every activity that we wanted to book and all the staff helped to have the most relaxing honeymoon that we could have asked for. Only down side I would say as that the resort didn't have it's own beach area, although Waikiki beach was literally a 2-3 minute walk away and generally the hotel is at the top end of the budget however this was what we expected from a top end resort! Overall an amazing experience and would highly recommend to anyone would wants a relaxing and luxurious holiday! :)

"Overpriced for what you get"
The Halekulani was a lovely hotel but only worth about half the price. My husband and I spent 6 weeks travelling around Europe and Canada with Hawaii being our final destination before heading home. I decided to spend big on our Hawaii hotel to give us a bit of luxury. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. The hotel was beautiful, if a bit dated but I certainly didn't think it was worth the hefty price tag. There is only a very tiny access point to the beach, it cost us US$60 for a buffet breakfast which had limited options and there was no bar near the pool. You had to go into the restaurant to have a drink in the afternoon. We stayed in far nicer hotels over the 6 weeks that were a lot cheaper than the Halekulani

"AMAZING!!!"
If you can afford this place... STAY HERE! The service is amazing and the room is gorgeous! Amazing views (we stayed in the ocean front). The staff all do a little something extra. For example, we went to tea and when we came back our dishes had been taken, a little present and note had been left on our bed and a little mat had been laid on the floor! We were also surprised with a free bottle of birthday champagne. House without a key is beautiful... Try and go during the live entertainment time if you can and you can also watch the sunset from there. The hotel is not overcrowded like the Sheraton next door which we also stayed in. The only downfall is that the pool is not huge but there is a beautiful warm ocean iut the front so it doesnt matter too much. Cannot rave enough and cannot wait to go back!

"Fantastic experience overall"
Rooms are well proportioned, with large balcony, sizable bedroom/living area, massive bathrooms and ample storage space. Hotel facilities are first rate, although the gym is a little small (5 or 6 cardio machines and some weights). Pool area is fantastic, I would recommend reserving a deck chair early in the morning (as they go quickly). Deck chairs with umbrellas are definitely the best option if available. Pool staff bring around free snacks throughout the day (10am muffins, 12pm chilled fruit, and my favorite: 2pm ice creams) The best quality of the Halekulani is the staff: service is first class across the board. Everybody went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and all requests were dealt with great respect and courtesy. The concierge service is fantastic. Nobody ever expected to be tipped, but were always very thankful when a tip was given.
