I picked this hotel for its proximity to the courts. When we checked in we realized that we were some of the few sighted guests. The California Council for the blind had chosen the venue for a conference. We were very impressed with the manner in which the dining room staff handled these guests. My husband has a cochlear implant and a hearing aid yet the waitress told him exactly where his plate was and where his glass was and when it was time for coffee where his coffee cup was. We remarked about this to each other. A woman at a nearby table explained. Many of the attendees at the conference were both sight and hearing impaired. The waitress had seen my husband's hearing aid and assumed he was also sight impaired. We were told later that this group had stayed at this hotel before. I can see why. The staff on the whole were well trained and helpful to all guests. We did not expect this in a small town and at such a reasonably priced hotel.

Generally a nice hotel with free parking, bar and good sized room. Restaurant wasn't bad for dinner and bar good. Nice customer service on desk. Two things - the bed firmness can be adjusted - don't do it too much or it collapses and has to be unplugged to reset! This feature seems pointless. Also the water feature is nice but noisy. If you want somewhere to stay for one night then this hotel is fine.

However, the spa was fantastic, the sauna was clean and comfortable, and the fitness center was apt. The location was perfect for my business trip as I was only a short walk from where I needed to be, so parking was not an issue. I feel that this hotel is worth the few extra dollars for the cleanliness, locale, and friendly staff.

Reviewed by Christopher of Cotati on Mar 25, 2009
When I originally booked my room I asked for a smoking room. I also called the day before arrival, confirming the smoking room. The concierge placed my room on 4th floor. I also requested a wake up call for 4:30am. as I had to go to an important swap meet where I was a vendor. After arriving, and placing my belongings away, I realized that they placed me in a non-smoking room. I went downstairs, where I was given a smoking room on the 2nd floor. I was not particularly pleased with the "comfort bed", it was very hard and unpleasant to sleep on. They should go back to normal beds with the pillow mattress. I could not sleep for the longest time due to a large crowd of guests in the very large lobby/bar area on the ground floor. I woke up at 6:00am as the wake up call was never placed for me. Once downstairs I complained to the concierge explaining that my absence from the swap meet for the first 1 1/2 hrs. was going to cost me money, as the first 2 hrs. is where the more serious buyers arrive to purchase from the vendors. The concierge was kind enough to comp me a breakfast, which I enjoyed. The concierge tried to give me a discount on the cost of the room but was unable to do so since I had booked the room through a third party. I followed this up with a phone call to Hotels.com 2 days later, where they were able to give me a credit for 1/2 cost for the room.

The Radisson Hotel was a great hotel for the price I had paid. It was pretty, spacious, and their management staff was very helpful. Although I did have two issues with the hotel. The first was the bed. All over the hotel and their website they advertise for their "Sleep Number Beds." I personally feel as though they should have done without these beds due to the fact they were very uncomfortable even with the adjustable firmness. So if you can, try and get a room without one of those if you have back issues or just a sensitive one at that. Secondly I caught one of their members of their housekeeping staff using my make up. I wasn't too thrilled with that and think that is something that any guest should be aware of. You should feel comfortable in the place you are staying. Their management staff was very helpful and supposedly took care of the situation. In the end, the hotel served it's purpose just with a couple of slip ups.

This hotel was not at all what was described or praised by other reviewers. The primary reason for picking this hotel was the free airport shuttle. Since it was a turnaround trip, I only needed transportation to the hotel from the airport and nothing else. My wife called the evening before to arrange the shuttle pickup and they said simply to call when I arrived at the airport. When she mentioned that my flight arrived at 9:36pm, the front desk noted that the shuttle only ran until 10, so make sure to call. When my flight arrived early, at 9:25, I called to request the pickup and they said the bellhop had already left and I would just have to take a taxi. With the first taste of the hotel as less than stellar, I arrived to find that the hotel resteraunt was closed at 10 (actually, 9:59) and the closest open eatery was the casino, which required taxi service. Once in the room, I was looking forward to trying out the Sleep Number bed, but neither of the dials worked and left me on an uncomfortable mattress all night long. In regards to their renovations, I'm not sure if it's complete yet because my room had a definite 70's feel to it. So, in my humble opinion, if in Fresno, find somewhere else to stay.

Which is amazing because they have up posters in the lobby bragging about their new multi-million dollar renovation. Somehow through all the work they managed to preserve an aura of dingy, 1970's kitsch. All the rooms face an indoor courtyard which is designed for large gatherings. Unfortunately the NOISE from large groups reverberates up the concrete walls and right into your room. The large, pointless 3 story waterfall muffles the noise a bit... did these guys even consult an architect? Other than that it was ok.
