The hotel is in a fantastic location; walking distance to stary arbat, Lotte Plaza, and the metro station. I received a room on the 13th floor which had a really beautiful view. We did not have hot water for a day!!! No apologies, no message, nothing! Staff is quite poorly trained, breakfast is subpar. Rooms are smallish with extremely thin walls. I normally stay across the road in Lotte which is far superior.

I stayed at the Golden Ring Hotel in Moscow for 4 nights and loved the room and it's expansive view of the new financial district. Due to my schedule, I was not able to take advantage of everything the hotel has to offer, but the room and staff were excellent.The bathroom was immaculate and I enjoyed having a super-heater electric tea kettle in the […] room. It is a quick and easy walk to the river and an upscale shopping mall, and the nearby underground "crosswalk" leads to a grocery store and the Arbat pedestrian shopping street. Our experience at the Golden Ring was nothing short of wonderful. The tea/coffee facilities in the room was a great extra, as we could sightsee all day and come back in the afternoon having a drink in our room before getting washed up for dinner. The bathroom had heated towel rails, and a non slip mat and the bathroom amenities were good quality. Towels […] were oversized and fluffy. There was an automatic light entering the bathroom, very useful at night. Free wi-fi in all rooms! The rooms were turned down at night, complete with a chocolate. Our only complaint was the mini bar was locked and you had to request it be opened and it was not cold enough to keep food in. However, staff would take your food and put it in a separate fridge - not very convenient as you have to call for it when you want a snack. Location was perfect. Lots of great, reasonable restaurants close by, metro station and pedestrian street. Read more

Our room was located on the 17th. floor facing the river and we had a great view of all Moscow since a whole wall is mostly glass. The room was comfortable and it was very quiet even though the Hotel is located on a busy street. The restaurant for breakfast is extremely expensive so if you do not have the price of the breakfast included in your price, […] better eat out in the many restaurants conveniently close to the Hotel. Both, the Metro Station and the Pedestrian Mall are close by. The Customer Service area is lacking. The Concierges are not there on weekends and they stop working at 5:00 pm during the week. In no other of our Hotels in Russia, were we asked what we were asked here. We needed to sign a document stating that if we did not show up and cancelled our reservation, they could still charge our credit card a large amount for providing us with the "invitation" service that is necessary to get to obtain the Tourist Visa. Also, if you require them to send a taxi to pick you up to the airport you must sign another document. You can only use the Business Center 15 minutes per guest, so it is 30 minutes if there are two of you, for free every day. After that you must pay. There is no swimming pool in the Hotel. Read more

The Hotel is almost a landmark in Moscu, due to the fact that it has an old fashioned neon ilumination all over its facade, so it is easy to be recognized by Taxis that does not speak english by rule!!! The disadvantage is that Taxis in agreement with the hotel costs a 900 rubles minimum fare as it is considered a 5 stars. So If you do not want to use […] a Taxi you only have the option of using Moscow Metro (subway) that has two entrances near to the Golden Ring, but I highly recomend to take the Arbat Ulitsa (street) entrance and not the Smolenskaya entrance. In other things the hotel room is very comfortable and had a nice view to the landscape depending on your room location. We asked for a non smoking room and we did not have any problem. It also has an ATM (cashier) machine inside the hall but you must read cyrilic alphabet or be very smart in guessing the correct buttons to dispose rubles (using de icons and the colors). Breakfast is very expensive (like 50 dollars per person per day) considering that it does not offer any fruits or options different of scrambled eggs with mushrooms and ham... I still recomend this hotel but would take a risk to pay something cheapier but reserving with two or three months of advance (I went on busy season with only two weeks of advance so I did not have other real cheapier options).. The location is outside the first ring, It was awful arriving to the hotel by car because of the traffic jam on the nearby road junction. This a great hotel for the price you pay. It's a little old but well maintained. Very centrally located in Moscow. Walking distance to Arbat street which is a famous tourist walkway. Stayed at the Golden Ring for 2 nights on business. Hotel is about 5 mins walk from Smolenskaya metro station. You need to use the underpass to cross the main road, this is outside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - the hotel is visible from the metro exit anyway. Very close to the old and new Arbat streets and a couple of metro stops from Red Square. […] Hotel staff were luckily fluent in English which helped a lot, the room I had was clean (sheets changed daily if you want) bathroom had a good selection of toiletries and was very clean. Free wifi throughout the hotel which was about 5mb. Had a meal in the Panorama restaurant on 22nd floor which has a great view over the city towards the White House. Breakfast selection was huge with omelettes cooked to order. Large selection of fruit, breads and pastries, cooked items, juices etc - as well as a harpist playing which was a nice way to relax for breakfast. Business centre allows ability to print out emails and boarding passes 8am to 8pm. I would certainly stay there again and have no issues recommending it if you need an accessible, not too expensive, hotel in Moscow. Read more

We were left stranded at the Airport as the Hotel car that we had booked to pick us up did not arrive. We had even pre paid. When we phoned we were told to wait an hour and they will send a car.We caught a normal Taxi which was less expensive but the driver had no idea where the Hotel was situated.
