"Peace and quite."

Booked the Sotheby's beach villa. Villa has everything you would ever need to spend a few days /week with the one you love. Fantastic outlook and beach access (5metres) to get sand on the toes. Villa has its own private pool heated spa and sauna outside with beautiful views to the sand and ocean. Great bathroom. All meals are included in the tariff, Buffett with well presented menus changed every sitting. Great selection of hot and cold dishes. The deserts were outstanding. The only negative was that on one evening the wet well used towels that we left piled on our bathroom floor were not replaced ,(but put back on the towel rack) and the toilet rolls that were empty not replaced. A phone call to reception resolved the issue. Overall a great experience and one that my wife and I will certainly do again.
"Fantastic Weekend Break from Sydney"
10/12/14 ColinB4951 Sydney, Australia
We booked a weekend break at Kim's Beach Resort (as it is now called) commencing Friday afternoon and departing Sunday before lunch. We were not sure what to expect but we wanted to get away from things in Sydney for a weekend and Kims was about the right distance. We were not disappointed and pleasantly surprised. Kims is about a 90 min drive North from Sydney on the Central Coast As it turned out the weather was two perfect Spring days with the temperature about 27 each day. We were able to do lots of walking and sight seeing in very pleasant conditions. We were warmly welcomed at reception and had the resort explained. There is a bit of a trick as there are two car parks. One at the top for those staying in the high level villas and a second carpark down below entry from the Toowoon Bay beach public car park. The reception staff are great at explaining which is the best for you. We had a garden villa which was beautiful and so clean. The villa had all the modern features of a 4 star resort but with a design feel of yesteryear. In fact that is the appeal of Kims. It is very modern and yet has features that take you back to a place where our grandparents would have spent a lovely summer holiday on the beach. Our villa had a hot tub in a private outdoor decking. It was very clean and the hot tub worked perfectly. Kims is right on the beach so you walk 100 metres from your door and you are right on the sand at Toowoon Bay. You can walk North or South along the beach for a pleasant morning or afternoon stroll. The meals are included in the daily tariff. All meals breakfast, lunch and dinner were very tasty. It is a buffet style and there was a wide selection of food including lovely fish and sea food. Drinks are available including a good selection of wines below $60. The staff were very attentive and made the stay very enjoyable. If you are looking for a weekend away from Sydney and not too far to travel, Kims is the place. In my view it is very good value especially when you consider all meals are included in the tariff.
"The Magic Still Remains"

I returned to Kims for the first time in about 12 years, and the magic is still there. That unique Kims experience, great food, great service and great location remain unchanged. We took a beachfront bungalow, I am nor sure if it was the same one 12 years ago when I was a regular Kims visitor. Everything was just beautiful and presented with excellence. On this visit we booked the dinner and breakfast package, my memories reminded me that you arrived with luggage and left as cargo with all the great food on offer. Although we can exaggerate our memories the dinners are still up there with great food which tastes as good as it looks. Whilst Masterchef has indoctrinated everyone the presentation equally important as taste, buffet is about eating what a bit (lot) of what you like and enjoying the ample selections of goodies. Our 2 night package included the legendary seafood night when over indulgence in fresh local seafood is difficult to refuse. Not criticism but perhaps areas to review and improve. The wine list was not as extensive as I would have preferred, selections were goof but not exciting. The coffee service needs a rethink and perhaps a barista style service without extra cost would be something to consider. Staff as always helpful and cheerful, setting sensational, and great relaxation.
"Beautiful hide away"

A very enjoyable one night stay in a Beachfront Villa. Staff were all friendly and really made an effort to assist everyone. There was a varied selection of food to choose from the buffet, so you can't go hungry. I'm a picky eater and there was enough to fill up the tucker bag.
"A very special place"

We have stayed at Kims at least once a year since 1994, most recently in April 2014 (about 28 stays in all so far). Each time it's like we're returning to our own private beach house, whichever one we choose. We have spent anniversaries and birthdays here as well as "just because" occasions. The setting is wonderful - Toowoon Bay beach is beautiful and lovely for swimming. The friendly management and staff are amazing and clearly enjoy working there - and who wouldn't in such a beautiful environment. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The bungalows are each just that little bit different - some on the beachfront, others hidden away up among the trees; some in the gardens at beach level; some have their own private swimming pool and jacuzzi and/or sauna. The meals are buffet style and always delicious and fresh, with plenty of options - modern and old-fashioned food. All the food is cooked from scratch, some to order, and they even make their own ice creams and sorbets, jams and marmalades, even butter. Walking down the path from the car park you can almost feel the cares of the world slip away with each step. We often say a couple of days here is the equivalent of a week or more elsewhere. There are lovely walks along the beaches, both north and south and we usually park our car and don't go near it again until we leave. Highly recommended.

We stayed two days, and it was our first time. Accommodation, meals and service were all excellent. Kims strives for perfection and almost achieves it. So why not 100% perfect? Because the token slices of decorative lime accompanying the breakfast papaya are far too thin to be able to squeeze any juice over the papaya. It is teasing the guests to offer the illusion of lime juice when there is none obtainable. The limes should be cut chunky, just like the generous lemon quarters which Kims provide for fish in the evening. A small thing and easy to fix. The lime chefs can learn from the lemon chefs. Yes, we would come back even if this detail is not fixed.

"Revisited a piece of Paradise!"

Ken & I revisited "a piece of Paradise"! Kims Hideaway was just as beautiful as ever! When you arrive, you are greeted by friendly Reception staff before going to your Beachside Bungalow. We stayed there two nights this time but we are returning in September. The Buffet style meals, as usual, are always delicious with a variety of meals to choose from. The Dining Room staff are always very friendly too. Before Dinner, you can enjoy a Cocktail in the Lounge. Everything about this beautiful "Hideaway" is fabulous & we look forward to returning in September.
"Quiet, relaxing with an unbelievable view"

We went there for the first time this long weekend. Here is what I love about Kim's: - The View 'Position' is Kim's trump card. The view from our beachfront bungalow was second to none. We were right on the beach with an unobscured view, overlooking beautifully maintained grounds. The coastline there is pristine. - No Children Policy The resort is exclusively for adults so you can be assured of no noisy children at dinner - yippee! It's all refreshingly civilised and so relaxing. - Holiday Feel Don't let the pictures of the 'dated' decor put you off. It's a 'cool kitsch'. Our room made us feel like we were on holidays straight away. It was fun and really adds to the feel of the place. Remember this is Australia's oldest resort. Going made me feel like I was stepping back in time. - Service It's the little things at Kim's that makes all the difference. You get your own table for every meal - with a personalised welcome card! I loved that. When you leave the room for breakfast, your room is made up. When you go for dinner, your room is made up. When it rains, an umbrella is left outside your bungalow door etc. - Super friendly I have never experience more genuinely friendly reception and wait staff ... really! - Well managed The owners were there at the restaurant to welcome every guest, every single night. We couldn't quite believe it. Their very presence ensures everything runs like clockwork and there are no problems with service. What impressed us most was the number of repeat customers staying. I think that says a lot. Side notes... Kim's does not cater for customers who want a beautifully presented meal on a plate. All meals are served buffet style, and while the buffet itself is well presented, it is not the best we have eaten. The food is good, but not in the 'amazing' category. Personally I think the buffet is Kim's main 'achilles heel'. Food aside, I would still go back for another weekender just for the view and service.
"Excellent, The very best of any stay.100% is not enough."

Any positives you read about this establishment are correct. We have returned time and time again over many years, We are in Tourism running our own very busy business, when the opportunity to escape from a 7 day occupation ....and we are able to dedicate time for us Kim's is the answer for three glorious days and nights. The setting, management & staff, the food, the service, the privacy,& the accommodation all constitute my assessment for Kim's to be the very best of anywhere we have stayed in all our travels in Australia and overseas. Here it is only 2 hours from our home. 100% recommendation is the best I can say and if it was so 200%....
