"Nice place for Madrid"
If you are a couple traveling please know that there is no seperation from room to bathroom. My husband and I have been married for three years so this did not bother us. The hotel is in a great location for Madrid. Very close to restaurants, museums, and the Royal Palace. The breakfast in the hotel is terrible. You can enjoy much better food somewhere […] else at a better price. The staff is very friendly. I did not need advice for where to visit since I had an itinerary already planned. The wireless internet is great! The speed was wonderful and I was never kicked off. During our stay in Spain we traveled both Barcelona and Madrid. I did not care for Madrid. If you stay in Madrid, this hotel is nice and close to a lot. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel but a little noise and smoke smell"
I was quite comfortable, except for two things. One was that I was put in a smoking room although I requested non-smoking. I probably could have changed, but was exhausted by the time I got there so just accepted it. The window opened, so I could get some fresh air. Also, the hotel was a little noisy. I could hear the hallway and adjoining rooms pretty […] easily. Other than that, it was comfortable, great location, good restaurant. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I chose the hotel for its central location, generally solid ratings, and relatively low price. I stayed in two rooms, both of them singles on the interior, where the windows opened onto tiny interior courtyards seemingly designed to provide air and light. The beds were adequate, and the rooms slightly more spacious than I had been expecting. My rooms […] were quiet, whereas the friends I was traveling with heard lots of street noise. My first room was stifling (in November). When I complained about the heat, the staff moved me right away to the second room. The cafeteria and dining room served good food, with excellent service. In fact, overall I have high praise for the staff, which proved responsive and friendly. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great hotel for anyone ."
The hotel was well located 15 minutes wzlk to plaza del sol. The room was comfortable, however during the day it was noisy as they were under going renovations. The staff spoke english so that was a plus. They have a nice resturant that serves all meals. We really enjoyed our stay in Madrid.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very close to Sol, nice large rooms. Overall a good stayGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good loation for walking tour of madrid"
Oustanding location, close to everything a tourist would want to see.......VERY NOISEY AT NIGHT....never quite figured it out, but it sounded like street cleaners rolled large bins up and down the cobblestone streets outside out window all night long ever night.....made sleep close to impossibe.....other than that, was enjoyable experience.Genuine Expedia guest review
This is our second stay at this hotel and we love the hotel and convenience of walking to so many interesting areas of Madrid with no problem. Also, several neat places to eat really close to the hotel. Always clean room, no problems checking in or out, staff always helpful. The only thing I am going to change next stay, is to ask for a room not overlooking […] the street. Although the views are fantastic, the street noise is bad and we have to use ear plugs to be able to sleep. Other than that, great stay! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Perfectly located in the heart of Madrid"
It has a beautiful lobby space. The actual room was small but efficient and clean. There was a nice mirrored closet. The twin beds were very spacious. Also a small fridge w/ mini bar. The hotel staff were very accommodating, we stayed late in our room one day and declined maid service, but they still came by to tidy up anyway and bring fresh towels […] after we'd left. My only concern is that the room was very stuffy/warm and maybe there was no way to make it cooler in November if the AC had been switched to heat because we had dialed our thermostat down to 16˚C the whole time (it was in the 50s˚F outside all week). It was tolerable with the windows opened, though. Finally, this hotel is ideally located. The Sevilla stop on the red metro line is right outside the hotel, perfect for travel to/from the airport. There is a Starbucks if you are so-inclined, and "Faborit" a Spanish coffeeshop adjacent. You are right by the famed "Plaza de Puerta del Sol" with the large "Corte de Ingles" department store, with close access also to the "Plaza Mayor", near the shopping of the "Gran Via", walking distance of Retiro Park & Royal Palace. It's a little farther, but you can also walk to the modern art museum Reina Sofia, as well as El Prado Museo, and Plaza de España and the Egyptian temple. The only thing others would find missing is an exercise room, but you'll do more than enough walking around during your trip, and there are beautiful places to run outside if you prefer. "My place to stay while in Madrid"
Regina is and will continue being my place to stay in Madrid. Great service! Excellent location...best in town!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel for a Madrid city tour!"
Regina Madrid is a great hotel - Centrally located, a walking distance from all major attractions, with a metro-station right in front. We enjoyed the very rich and tasty breakfast (although not included), as well as the coffee shop at the hotel, which turned out to be a very nice, cheaper alternative. The first 3 floors were recently renovated and […] the rooms are modernly designed. The rooms (427, 327) were neat and comfortable, the only downside was that they were facing the inner court of the hotel, with the AC-motors and air-vent from the restaurant below, so that opening the window was too noisy and smelly - not a very good alternative. However, we would still highly recommend this hotel to our friends! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Perfect price Perfect location"
Perfect location, 2 minute walk to plaza del sol. Very centralized. Subway station just outside the front door. I would have payed twice what I did for this location. I travel alone and I usually get a room that is the size of my closet back home. This is one of the largest and most comfortable rooms I have had in Europe. I would recommend it to my […] friends and if I ever return to Madrid I will stay here again. The room that I had was one of the rooms towards the back, window did not offer much of a view. Drinks at the bar or in the minibar in the room are expensive, but there is a Corte Ingles with a supermarket at Plaza del sol with drinks for 1 tenth the price. If you are planning a trip to Toledo do not use the hotel's travel services, you will not get to see any of the city itself other than the museums. Did not even get to shop at the Toledo market. You are better off taking a train and spending the time there on your own. I should have listen to Rick Steves. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel but was under construction in September"
This was a wonderful hotel and has a wonderful location . . . walking distance to tons of sites and super close to a main metro line. "Excellent location; very good hotel"
We were very happy to have stayed at Regina. Excellent location. Sevilla Metro stop is outside the door. Hotel is next to the Museo de las Bellas Artes (small gem of a museum), 3 minutes from the tremendously central Sol plaza, and a 10-15 minutes walk to the Prado, Parque del Retiro, etc. Hotel has buffet breakfast for 18 euros, but if you don't need […] to fill up before a big day of tourist activities, try Pan & Co.( one block down toward Sol) or Hontanares (basically across the street) for more reasonable prices. Faborit is an excellent coffee, sandwich, smoothie shop next door to the hotel -- feels like a cross between Starbucks and Panera and it actually has good salads (a rarity in Spain!). We stayed at the Regina twice over a two week trip to Spain that began and ended in Madrid. Both times they upgraded us to better rooms because of our Expedia Plus membership card ("VIP Access") and sent up a bottle of champagne. Much appreciated! The first room was very good with normal bedroom/bathroom arrangements. The second room was super modern and very attractive but had an odd setup -- there is a wall but no door to separate the bedroom space from the bathroom, including toilet and shower. No bathroom privacy! Also the windows open on to an inner "courtyard" that allows anyone in the nearby hallway to see into the bathroom through the sheer window shades; so one must fully lower the blackout shades even during the day to keep people from seeing in. "Perfect location for sight-seeing"
My wife and I spent 6 nights in the Regina. Tight quarters, typical of European hotels but it was clean, recently upgraded and comfortable. We didn't include the breakfast option but enjoyed a breakfast ordered from the menu each morning which was quite sufficient. The dinner menu was good, as well. Be prepared to live out of your luggage. There was […] a small wardrobe for hanging some clothes, but not a drawer in the room. We were on the back side of the hotel so there was no view out at all but the room was totally quiet. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We pre-paid the room and there was no question at all about the arrangement. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Right in the Middle of Madrid"
It could have been perfect but they are doing renovation of their other floors and so there is an on-going constrution and the sound proofing is very poor. "very convenient to all major spots"
Our flight was cancelled because of a hurricane in the east coast. We moved out of our previous hotel which was not a 4 star as they claim. Regina was a shock to us considering the fact that our previous hotel was not up to par with a 4 star.Walking in the lobby was a relief. A porter was avaiable to bring in our luggages. We received a welcome drink. […] Check in was fast and smooth. We were given another room after we requested a transfer as renovation was ongoing above our room. Sound proofing is not optimum though. We would be awaken to the maid cleaning and banging on the walls. Breakfast is very affordable and good. Service in the Amayra restaurant is superb!!Front desk staff were very helpful and accomodating. They helped us confirm our pick up. I would go back to Regina for my next Madrid trip. "Great value, great stay!"
Everyone there was very nice. Even housekeepers were very cheery. We were greeted with a much appreciated fluke of orange juice after a long flight. It was a great value, and a unexpected surprise. The only weird thing is that the facial tissue paper there was very rough, like sand paper rough. Even the toilet paper was softer. However, that's not a […] deal breaker, just weird. The location is also very good. All the excitement is nearby, and transportation to everything else is right at your doorstep. Overall, I highly recommend. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"great hotel, perfect location"
the Regina is located 1 block from the center of activities and sights, so it is not affected by all the street noises - which are fun but not so much if you want to sleep. Yet if you want to be in bustle of street music and tapas you just walk a block. The hotel is very modern and beautifully furnished. Our only criticism is the design of the room […] which allows only visual privacy for the toilet - there are no doors to close. The hotel has 2 different dining areas - very good food at very reasonable prices. We noticed many local businessmen came in for breakfast on their way to work. The staff was very helpful, quick to respond to and even anticipate our needs. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"great location and neighborhood"
the original room I was given was so small and the window opened into a ventilation shaft, it felt like a prison cell block, and since I have booked a 7-night stay I requested a change and they were very accommodating and prompt, no hesitation evident in satisfying my request,I was pleased with the exchange though overall the rooms are on the small […] side. "Hotel Regina - Heart of Madrid"
I enjoyed my stay at the Regina. It was very well located and I was able to walk to shopping, eating, drinking and sight seeing. And for the few things I needed to catch the metro for, it was right outside the door of the hotel. My room was nice, simple and clean. Only complaint was that the window was small and to the air shaft, not to the outside. […] Wifi went in and out in my room too. Staff was friendly and helpful and always available. "Nice hotel in a good location - I'd stay again"
This was a nice property, very easy to locate and nicely placed a few blocks from Sol, right in front of a Seville metro entrance. The staff was friendly and helpful. I had a low end double so it was inside, near the elevator, however that is fine for what I needed. I suspect some of the nicer rooms will have a good view! The only thing I did not like was that our room was right near the stairs and people forget to talk softly especially when coming back late at night - we also had a very young group of American girls at our hotel who were very loud into the early hours of the morning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I have stayed at the Regina several times, and typically enjoy the stay; however, this time they placed me in a room adjacent to hotel construction activities - so each morning the noise was overwhelming ... I stayed out all day, so it wasn't a huge deal - but if you're looking to sleep in or have a siesta - don't go here. I asked upon leaving if this […] was to continue - since I had planned on returning in December - they said there will always be some part of the hotel under construction. It did appear that they had placed all American tourists in the construction wing - so I will stay elsewhere in the future if this is all that can be guaranteed. The rooms are comfortable - so if you're up early and out all day - it is a nice place to stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
