"Great hotel in the center of it all"
We stayed in the Hotel Regina for a few nights while in Madrid. Staff was helpful, the onsite restaurant and cafe was great too. After a long day sightseeing, the rooms were comfy and spacious.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location in a renovated hotel at affordable"
I have been at this hotel before and it is better. Modern and renovated rooms. Just hy Sevilla Metro 2 station and very close to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Santa Ana and Cibeles fountain. Great price and service. Highly recomended!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"3 days in Madrid"
+ : We got a champagne and fruits plate on arrival which was something nice. I believe being an "elite" on Expedia really helped. Room was comfortable -: the business center pcs were not working.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good value when on sale for business travel"
Although traveling alone, I was given a double room, which was a much better size than the single I saw. The bathroom in the double was very nicely appointed and spacious with good hot water and water pressure. The bed is very firm (which some prefer) but oddly short in length. I don't believe someone over 6' would avoid dangling his/her feet. Sounds […] from pipes and echoes in the courtyard were fairly noisy during the day, but by nighttime it was quiet. I found the room on sale on hotels.com at an excellent off-season price for a nonrefundable single, and with the free wi-fi, I would consider Regina for my future business trips when funds are an issue. The grocery store in the basement of the nearby Cortes Ingles made it easy to assemble a picnic dinner to enjoy in the Parque del Retiro one evening. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Perfect location! Right above the Sevilla metroGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice hotel in Plaza de Sol"
This was a very nice hotel close to Plaza de Sol. Great restaurants and attractions are within easy walking distance, and there are two Metro stations nearby. The rooms are gigantic, unfortunately mine opened to an airshaft (i.e., no view). The staff was very knowledgable and friendly, and they went out of their way to be helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel needs a renovation but offers a great location and great prices.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Location, clean and cozy"

Great location for an affordable prices. The room was outdated. Manager provided a complimentary champagne upon arrival to set the mood right which it did.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very convenient location - close to everything"
This hotel was in a great location about 15 minutes from Royal Palace and the Prado. Five minutes to Puerta del Sol. Ten minutes to Plaza Mayor. Helpful staff. Rooms newly remodeled. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to see Madrid. We took a cab for the airport but there is also a Metro station right in front.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"near to plaza el sol, and mayor attractions"
great neat close to everything you want. a block from Gran Via, Plaza Mayor Plaza el Sol, you don't need take the subway, a bunch the restaurants and good ones a few blocks waking distant.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Better and cheaper"
This hotel has an excellent service, is located near to the most interesting places in Madrid and the rates are very affordable for tourists.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good value for money, but not especially nice"
good central location. Room was clean, basic, decent size, and simply furnished. Room was located at rear of hotel facing outside building wall whereby it was hidden from natural sunlight. Next time would request room with window facing the outside.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel, great location, staff ok"
Perfectly situated on calle de alcala a 20 min walk from prado museum and 5 min walk to puerta del sol. Clean and efficient. Comfortable. Staff was not entirely helpful if asked for any advice though and they were efficient but not friendlyGenuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent Location, Ok Hotel"
Staff varied from friendly and helpful to indifferent. Needs some cosmetic upkeep. Wonderful location. .Genuine Expedia guest review
Great location, walking distance from the main Madrid attractions. Metro station is only few meters from the hotel. Room is comfortable and nice bathroom.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location in Madrid"
Best hotel we stayed at. Breakfast good. Internet worked. Comfortable bed. Service good, although I would have preferred no bellhop. Fantastic location by Puerta del sol and in front of Metro stop. Roomsize generous.Genuine Expedia guest review
Being welcomed with cold orange juice was an unexpected delight! Very pleasant staff and clean room. Be aware that most windows are on an airshaft (normal for downtown), which can be somewhat noisy. Marble in halls ditto. Downsides: shower only, bedside lights inadequate (the desk's is fine), bed could use soft pad. But I walked everywhere (Prado, Retiro, […] much more) from it. There are pastry shops and banks (the necessities of life) very close, and lots of shopping and dinner places and much more within a few blocks! Metro too. Great choice! "Best hotel in Spain"
I was very surprised this was a three star. Everything was perfect from the staff, to the room, to the buffet etc. I asked Spanish friends why it only had three stars given how well run it is and they suspected it had to do with taxes on four star hotels. Wow, what a great stay. Right in the middle of everything just a hundred meters to the east of […] Sol, right next to one of the nicest restaurants in Spain. Room design so nice I took pictures of the bathroom for ideas on home improvement. Even the maids smile and say hi as you walk down the hall in the morning. Obviously a very well managed hotel. The finest details are thought of. You turn on the TV and it doesn't default to movies. The remote actually works for once on the first go. etc ect. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We stayed at the Regina based on other reviews, and were glad that we did. It is a very nice hotel, convenient to lots of restaurants, shopping, Metro and sights to see (Puerta de Sol, Palace, Cathedral). The free Wi-Fi was a bit shaky during our stay, but otherwise the staff was great and the location was superb. Would definitely stay at the Regina […] again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient location and friendly staff"
We chose the hotel based upon a recommendation. Unfamiliar with Madrid we found the hotel and its location to be perfect for our 24 hour visit. We easily walked to Plaza Major and Plaza del Sol, Palacia Real, Museo Prado. We easily reached the hotel by taxi from the airport. The front desk staff was very helpful with information and advice. "More than adequate hotel in the center of Madrid"
The Hotel Regina's location is wonderful, in the center of Madrid, within walking distance of the places that I wanted to visit. The staff was helpful, the room was comfortable and kept spotlessly clean... It also had an in-room safe which I utilized everyday.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, updated room...but a few problems."
We were in Madrid for New Year's Eve celebration at Puerta del Sol. The hotel has an absolutely fantastic location just a block away from Puerta del Sol. You can also easily walk to most major sights - Plaza Mayor, Prado, etc. The young man named Javier who works as the concierge was excellent - very friendly and informative. Our room had clearly been […] updated and was very nicely appointed. The issues: (1) our A/C was not working. It wasn't broken, the hotel had just shut it down for the winter. That is not a big deal and I understand that it is relatively typical, but I also think it should be disclosed before one books a room. We slept with the windows cracked and it was fine. (2) no doors whatsoever to our bathroom. I love my wife, she loves me...but we have no interest in being in the same room as each other when we use the toilet. Not all rooms are designed that way (we had a relative in another room and it was not like that). (3) The pay per view was broken. We let them know and they told us it'd been broken for a while and would eventually get fixed - but they were pretty laid back about it. None of these issues are big deals, and overall I would recommend the hotel because of location, cleanliness, and very affordable price. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent location, functional room, helpful staff"
The hotel is at mid-point between Plaza Mayor and the museum district, and at the beginning of Gran Via, making it an ideal sight seeing location. The hotel is surrounded with buildings with exquisite architectural details representing different periods. The metro station is just right outside. The city's main train station is only 20 minutes on foot, […] through a charming neighborhood. There is a VIP chain restaurant that is open almost 24 hours a day next to the hotel. The room is clean and functional. We stayed in a room with three beds, on the 4th floor. The bathroom has a fully enclosed shower with good water pressure which is above the average European standard. The only thing that is missing is a coffee maker. To us, having a hot cup of tea in the morning and late at night is important. The hotel staff is very helpful and friendly. They all speak English and are willing to give a free Spanish lesson on the spot. Lastly, an airport express shuttle station is only 10 minutes from the hotel. Notice that the drop-off and pick-up locations are different. The pick-up location is on the left hand side of CentroCentro (old post office building) at Plaza de Cebeles (standing at the entrance facing the square), behind the Taxi station. "Newly renovated and close to "downtown" Madrid"
I spent one night at Hotel Regina after spending 4 nights Hotel Chamartin, and the difference between these two hotel is remarkable, Hotel Regina is conveniently located in the heart of Madrid, one block from plaza del Sol, and maybe three blocks from La Plaza Mayor. My room was amazing, especially after travelling around in Europe for 20 days, this […] was by far the newest and biggest room during my trip. It was really modern, clean, and spacious. "Better than expected"
Everything about The Regina exceeded my expectations. I would label it a superb boutique hotel in downtown Madrid. The hotel restaurant is one of the best I've experienced anywhere for the fixed price dinner menu---fantastic value. Location of hotel in downtown Madrid was perfect and a taxi stand in front makes it possible to go anywhere easily.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel Regina is in a great location within walking distance to an abundance of shopping and restaurants. If you are fit, the hotel is also convenient to the metro and a 30-minute walk to most museums. Some of the hotel seems more modern than other parts. My room was in the worst location and very small with no natural light. It was next to an office […] where employees came and went constantly and was behind the elevator so very noisy. My daughter and I had a perfect stay at the Regina. Our room was immaculate and the beds were very comfortable. The staff was kind and helpful. Everyone had a smile! There is a full restaurant and a cafe inside the hotel, both offering anything you could wish for. The location is ideal! "Close to most sites"
The hotel has a modern feel with well appointed but a bit small rooms. It is close to several museums and historical buildings. The TV was nice but it would have been better with English subtitles.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Hotel Regina was a great place to explore Madrid from. My wife and I are walking vacationers and love to check out the city on foot. Everything was pretty close to this hotel. "Good hotel with a very central location"
This is the second time I have stayed at the Regina. The rooms have been upgraded this year. My room was spotless with very comfortable mattress and pillows. Beautifully tiled modern bathroom with shampoo etc rather than the ubiquitous dispensers.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is conveniently located just steps from the Sevilla Metro station. We were able to walk to all the major sights as well as the bus station to catch the airport express shuttle. The hotel sits on Calle Alcala, which is one of the major streets in the old town area but more sedate than the super busy and noisy Gran Via. We had a quiet room on […] the 6th floor facing the back, so we heard no street noise whatsoever. The breakfast buffet was a good value and offered a reasonable selection. Hotel staff was friendly, although it sometimes took some effort to get the attention of a wait staff during breakfast to obtain items like hot water for your tea. Wi-fi in the room was spotty. We did not try using it in the lobby. Room was very clean and had all the basic amenities. Bed was a bit too firm and stiff for me, but my friend was OK with it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Comfortable stay at a great price"
I thought that the service level was impersonal (even by business hotel standard) and rather poor. No smile no enthusiasm from the front desk staff. No help with the luggage. The small photocopied city map that they handed me was ridiculous. Is it too much to ask for complimentary bottled water in the room and internet access at the business center […] or lobby? Nonetheless, the room and bathroom were new, contemporary, spacious, clean and really comfortable. Excellent location - just 20 m from the metro station. I don't know what is its rack rates but I got the special/early bird promotion rate from hotels.com so it was a great deal. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"GREAT LOCATION WHEN IN MADRID."
I liked the hotel very much. The staff was very accommodating, especially Ricardo. Of course the Breakfast is definitely a feast, which would appeal to anyone from any part of the world. "Friendly hotel close to center of town"
The hotel had a terrific location, had excellent staff who went out of their way to be helpful, and the showers in the rooms were fabuous. "Great hotel but I wouldn't stay there again."
This hotel really comes across as a classy establishment, but they mess up on a lot of the details. First, the good: The room was clean, modern, and spacious - though I did get a "superior" double room. They have a concierge who can help you book things, though he was quite overworked. Poor guy. There was one nice female staff member who was pleasant […] to deal with. One. The bad: My room had windows to the street. The hotel had elaborate soundproof windows - that don't seal properly. Make sure you get a room without windows! The TV would switch on by itself, or change channels randomly. Even after I mentioned it and they said they would fix it, it persisted. I had hotel amenities removed or not replaced, which I then had to ask for. My spare room key was taken, one of the towels was removed but not replaced, and I had to ask for extra toilet paper because only a 1/4 roll was left in the room. I expected more from such a nice hotel. On the last day, I asked the desk to arrange a taxi. They said the concierge would help me. I waited for ten minutes while he was busy with a single tourist couple - the whole time, the desk was consistently empty. I eventually walked up to them a second time and had to push to get them to assist me. A real victory for process over people. I really felt like I was tolerated by this hotel - rather than a guest.
