"Misleading photos and info."
First, the good: Excellent location and neighborhood, close to everything! Also, great breakfast buffet for 9 Euros, Front desk was kind and helpful. Now the bad: From the very first photos most are misleading or taken long ago. The hotel front photo is of a building across the street and is not the hotel. We had two rooms that are nothing like the […] modern rooms with up to date furniture. The rooms were very basic and average, but felt dingy. The bathrooms were large and clean. The carpet in the hallways and stairs is very old(2003) and worn. In fact in places just bald spots. If you want an average hotel this is it, but don't be fooled by the photos, you're not getting that! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is 3 minutes walking distance from Puerta Del Sol. From there it takes about €2.55 and less than 1 hour to take the trains (C3 & T4) to reach Madrid's airport. The hotel is also within walking distance to major atrractions and museums in Madrid. Clean room, friendly staff and service. The only downside is that wifi is spotty and slow, but […] that was probably due to our room's location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ideal location/Interesting room comfort"
Ideally located with quick access from center of Madrid; clean small but rooms; staff was very accommodating with an excellent restaurants, side bar, breakfast options at reasonable prices. Virtually all services and amenities as stated in Expedia's and Regina's websites were true. The only issue that perspective users need to consider and that is not […] told to you is the level of bathroom "comfort". Bathroom privacy is poor with some rooms (our initial room had no doors and was open on two sides!) having no doors or the doors are such and smallness of the room is such that ones bathroom privacy leaves something to be desired. If you can live with this issue, then this is a very good hotel for the cost and location. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Outstanding rooms. Modern feeling. Extremely good locationGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Regina. I arrived earlier than the check-in time, and they got my luggage until it was time to check-in, so I was free to walk around the city. The room was clean and nice, but you were able to hear everything (that's why I rated 4 on "comfort of your room". The location is perfect, near Sol and the shopping center, […] and the Metro "Sevilla" is right in front of the hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent Hotel Close to the Museums"
We found the Regina to be a well located hotel in Madrid, close to the main plazas and the main attractions for us - the Prado, the Plaza del Sol and Plaza Mayor and Palace. Great public transportation close by. Lots of small restaurants near the museums and plazas, all in walking distance. The hotel itself was well appointed; the room nicely decorated […] and very clean. Free Wi-Fi. A very attentive concierge who gave us good tips on where to walk and where to eat. The hotel restaurant will provide breakfast at a good price, and it is a good one. They had a special on while we were there for two Euros off. We would stay there again. "Affordable hotel in a great location"
Regina is very well located , just one block away from major madrid attraction like " Puerta del Sol", Plaza Mayor" and the Gran Via , surrounded by shops stores like El Corte Ingles and tons of smalls souvenir stores and great restaurants/ cafeterias only steps from Sevilla metro station wich is more than functional in cosmopolitan cities like Madrid […] , however rooms are in need of upgrades and comfort , cuadruples rooms are narrow with out comfy beds , four separates beds instead a bed for a couple and separates ones for the children's or relatives , linens looks overused and bad quality toiletry . Very friendly and helpful hotel staff willing to make your stay as best as possible. Regina is an overall good place to stay few days and explore the never sleep city of Madrid . "Great hotel, unbeatable location"
Hotel Regina was a great hotel that was under a 5-minute walk from Puerta del Sol and very close to all the major sights. Slightly warn, it is currently undergoing some reservations. The option of the in-hotel restaurant was nice too. Couldn't beat the price for the location!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for the old city"
Great location, less than 5 minutes walk to Plaza del Sol, under 10 to Plaza Mayor. We were in a quiet wing and six floors up and very happy; I heard others staying on lower floors saying there was traffic noise. Lots of selection on the breakfast buffet. Large, comfortable room. Would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Place Central Location"
Great stay, pleasant staff and perfect location. Rooms are well put together but not much in the way of views. You are paying for close location more or less. Would be a great place to stay for vacation or business.Genuine Expedia guest review
The Regina was okay and has no major complaints from me, but I found some things misrepresented in its advertising on this website. The one that bothered me the most was that some photos are not truthful. For example, the first photo on this hotel's listing shows the building across the street (not this hotel), so that's deceptive for me at least. Maybe […] it's okay for other visitors. My room, while it was clean and comfortable, was not the pristine example shown in the photos. Service wasn't friendly, but it was efficient. Sevilla Metro Station is right outside of the hotel's door and you're within reasonable walking distance of Plaza Mayor, Sol, etc. Overall, a good stay even though it was not what I expected from the photo and reviews. "One night in Madrid - disappointing"
After traveling for 12 hours to get there, it was disappointing to be greeted by rude front desk staff. I literally stood there for 5 minutes while they talked amongst themselves, and then finally looked up to help me. Then, our room was down a hall where another room was under construction -- there was equipment all over and drilling noise for us to […] enjoy. We had a 3 person room and they gave us JUST ENOUGH towels -- 3. We asked for a few more and the housekeeper told us NO! We had to negotiate for more towels, seriously? Then, the next morning as we tried to get our bags out of the room, we discovered an entire bedframe in the tiny hallway (from the room under construction). We had to move a bedframe in order to get out of our room. Finally, we asked if they would validate our parking -- the rude guy at the front desk just laughed at us and made a gesture of "stamping" our parking card but made it very clear they do NOT validate parking. I wouldn't go back to Regina - the location is great, the accommodations themselves were fine but the staff was just really disappointing. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect if not for paper thin walls"
The Regina has everything going for it except for sound damping. You hear every little noise from the hallway and the adjoining rooms, so if you're sensitive to noise, you might want to bring earplugs or book a different hotel. Most of the staff speak English, and are all pretty nice. Front desk folks can be a little gruff. Fairly inexpensive shuttle […] to the airport is also available. "Center of town. Nice hotel"
I have stayed in Regina Hotel between 8th-13th June,2014 with my daughter. I enjoyed the nice atmosphere, friendly staff, efficient reception, clean rooms. The hotel is a walking distance to many historic social centers and parks. Good breakfast and a delicios restaurant with excellent wine from 60 caves. But the hotel room was a little small and with […] an ugly view to the opening between the blocks. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Convenient location from/to metro and locals."
Location of this hotel is central to all major visiting area. Metro is only a block away. There are some constructions going on, but have no impact on our comfort. The room decor is very modern. Good place to stay for couple days.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Time in Madrid!"
The hotel was great. In the perfect location to go to Puerta Sol and Plaza Mayor. Plaza Mayor is the best. Great time. The Hotel was clean, good beds, modern, great cafe restaurant next door. All in all, I will go back to Hotel Regina on my next trip back to Spain. Loved it.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Unbeatable price/ benefit ratio"
This is an excellent hotel in the right area of Madrid, with a metro station (Sevilla) just in front, taxis parked outside and at walking distance to many of the best spots in Madrid. The hotel is antique, but you can see the renovations made in a recent past. The lobby area, the bar and restaurant is very vibrant with many locals drinking and eating […] something, while chatting. The personnel is very courteous and helpful. The rooms are very clean. We had a room with two TV's one in the living and the other in the small bedroom. We did not eat there because is plenty of good restaurants in the area that we want to try, but the restaurant was always busy. I highly recommend this hotel and definitively would be back. "A pleasant stay in a great location."
The hotel is very well located and in easy walking distance to the popular plazas and a number of the museums. Our room was clean and well appointed. The front desk staff was multilingual and very courteous and helpful. We did not have a car so I can't comment on parking. The internet was a little slow but that seems to be common in hotels. "Decent hotel; great location"
No major complaints; centrally located. Attractive lobby. Quiet. Rooms were reasonably well maintained, but, in our opinion, poorly designed. Despite being starkly modern, the lighting is poor. For some inexplicable reason, the architect thought that guests would enjoy having no door to the bathroom. (We were changed to a room that had at least a flimsy […] translucent door.) "Good hotel- Great location"
Like several other reviews have mentioned, the outside noise was very loud because we had a front facing room. The front facing did have it's benefits because it was a great view. The location of the hotel was fantastic. The room we were in was outdated, but clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel because the location is fantastic.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great value and location"
People and service, especially the front desk, were outstanding! So helpful and considerate. What a delight!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel had no a/c; no coffee maker in the rooms; no gym and was very old. The carpet on the stairs were old and nearly tattered. When asked why were we not informed about the a/c not being functional until May we were told : because it is a 3 star hotel- what do you expect? However, the rooms were big and clean and close to must-see sights.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Can't beat the location but..."
PROS Location is perfect! It is a block away from Gran Vía, Puerta del Sol and shopping. There is also a metro stop (Sevilla-line 2) right outside the hotel door! The housekeeping staff works very hard and is polite and kept our room spotless. The day staff is very helpful and polite. Breakfast was good and adequate. CONS The room we stayed in was […] uncomfortably hot! There was no view (just an interior enclosure) which made matters worse as there was little or no breeze to help cool the room. The hotel staff did provide a fan but it was not much help considering the high temps for April and the lack of ventilation. I would avoid room six zero seven at all costs- unsure of the other rooms. "We expected more"
We were really looking forward to a 3 night stay here as part of 15 days in Spain, but we were disappointed. Our view to outside was grim. We got to see all the AC and air handling units, but we were very hot in our room. The AC wasn't turned on yet. They gave us a fan, which helped. Between the see-thru bathroom door and the need to keep the bathroom […] window open to the world outside, there was no privacy in the W.C. One bed was fine, the other had broken slats that were so bad my husband put the mattress on the floor. We should have complained, but it was such a hassle to get the fan we just decided to grin and bear it. Room was quirky but clean with many good features, but for us the bad outweighed the good. "Experience marred by unusually small and warm room"
The location and breakfast are excellent, and the internet is fast, much better than 18 months ago when it was essentially unusable. However, my room was unusually small and inexplicably warm. I turned off the heat completely and opened the window (to an enclosed area only somewhat connected with the outside) and it was still very warm. The front desk […] provided a fan, which helped, but they never solved the heat problem. I suspect it can not be solved. I could therefore not recommend staying here unless you can get a room with a window to the outside air. If you have an inside room, it might be stifling even in quite cool weather. Even with better climate control, however, the room was very small, even for a single. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice, clean hotel in a great location."
The hotel is very close to Puerto del Sol and minutes away from Gran via shopping. It is also 15 minutes away from the Prado and Parque Retiro. That alone is worth the reasonable prices they offer. The only problem I had was the the air was not working and the room was quite room at night. I opened the window but there's a restaurant downstairs so I […] was able to smell their food. Otherwise, I would have easily rated the hotel condition and comfort a 4 or 5. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great Value Great Location"
My wife and I really ejoyed our stay. We were a short distance to the Prado and to the Reina Sophia. The Puerta del Sol and the Plaza Mayor were a few minutes walk. The staff was generally helpful. A conceierge helped us plan two wonderful day trips to Segovia and to Toledo using the high speed Renfe trains. It was simple, fun and much less expensive […] than a tour. Our host explained how to do it. He purchased the seats online for us and made sure our seat assignments were comfortable. There are a number of good Tapas opptions in the area but you will have to walk a ways to find a reaaly good restaurant. Not a problem. After a wonderful late night dinner just take a cab back to the hotel. We are English speaking and traveled from the US. The staff had sufficient English skills to communicate at all hours of the day and night. The only inconveneice was that they ran out of converters and I could not charge my computer the night before we returned home. I suggest you bring your own. All in all the Regina was a comfortable room and a relaxing respite from the crowded Madrid. My wife and I avoid posh hotels. We look for comfort, value and location. This is the perfect hotel for independent travelers who are looking for clean and comfortable. We are seniors but had absolutley no problem getting aroung on public transpotation from the Puerta del Sol Station with the help of the hotel concierge. First time in Madrid and we were very pleased with Hotel Regina. The location is very central to many sites and hotel is basic, but very clean. We were happy there was a room safe too.
