yes, the location was convenient, however, we were extremely dissatisfied with the cleanliness of the room. first, there was a constant funky smell, similar to the scent of a recently lit match. it might have been coming from the surface. the shower was stupid. there was no shower base so every time we took a shower it looked like lake titicaca up in […] there. there were also little bugs in the bathroom. we could hear every noise in the hotel as well as the surrounding neighborhood. the staff was helpful. "Great Stay and very satisfied"
We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel-Verona. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful! We were able to walk to the Colloseum and other sites and were within walking distance of the train station and the Metro (subway). We had free breakfast at the hotel which we thought was sufficient and tasty. We were in a triple room and our only complaint […] was that the third bed was a cot that was not very comfortable. However, the front desk provided us with a thick comforter which we placed on top of the matress and made it more comfortable to sleep on. There was a stair case that we had to carry ou luggage up. There is also a very small elevator, but it did not take us all the way up and we still had to carry our luggage up some stairs. We stayed there for three nights. We were apprehensive about booking on line, but really had not other choice. So we took about three weeks researching and reading many reviews before we selected the hotel. The reviews were very helpful, and that is why I am writing my review. It was my first time in Italy and I hope this review helps other. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fair Verona is a good Choice in Rome."
The Verona is located 4 blocks from the train station where there are shuttles to the airports. It is also within short walking distance of the Colosseum/Palatine Hill, and a 15 minute walk to the Trevi Fountain/Spanish Stairs area. They serve a very nice breakfast in a lovely open garden. Some of their rooms for 4+ people are simply the same floor […] space chopped up with walls, feeling cramped and small. Others I saw are bright with balcony door-type windows and U.S.-sized floor space. The WIFI was spotty on the 4th floor and even after they moved us to a second room, reception came and went. Receptionists are friendly and helpful. All in all we would return to this hotel. It was a good value for location and quality of room and service. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice bath details such as linens walk-in shower"
Only issue - advertise having an elevator, but not that it stops at 1/2 floor, so have to walk up or down at least a half flight of stairs. Not good if absolutely need to avoid stairs.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"If we return to Rome we'll use this hotel again"
My cousin and I stayed for six nights and could not fault it. A decent sized room and a balcony which we hadn't expected (though that was because we were in a room at the back and just good luck). There was a good selection of breakfast items and the staff are very friendly. We loved the convenience of the area- a really easy walk to the Colosseum and […] Palatine area and could walk about in the evening with plenty of choice of eating places. "Decent hotel near the Colosseum"
Positives: Nice breakfast, pleasant and helpful staff, walking distance to major points of interest. Negatives: Shower was appalling, too small and cramped in next to the toilet. Double bed was actually two singles pushed together. Overall: Decent value for moneyGenuine Expedia guest review
Best location. It's a short walk from the train station and all the major sites. Great restaurant next door and a convienace store close. Plus GELATO! Highly recommended. Staff was great and spoke English.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel very centrally located"
We bought a Roma Pass on arrival to the airport, however due to the central location of this hotel, we ended up using it only a couple of times. We were a 10 min walk from the colosseum and other locations. There is a very nice supermarket 2 min walk from the hotel and it is EXTREMELY cheap, this came in very handy for purchasing food stuffs. Hotel […] staff were very kind and helpful, on hand at all times (24 hours). The air-con in the rooms was very necessary, especially in the heat. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend. "short break in Rome on my own."
The Hotel is in a good location to main sites. Room small but sufficient with my own bathroom. Breakfast room was very nice. Good value budget hotel, reasonable 3 star but did not have much public space outside of breakfast. My only annoyance was very limited free Wifi which is mean. Staff were polite and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good location, resonably priced"
A cute little hotel, well placed for the metro and for major sights (Colosseum, Forum) with a 10-15 minute walk. Reception staff friendly and spoke excellent English. A good continental breakfast that set you up well for the day. Downside was the room size. We were in room 409 which was very cramped (and I mean even by Rome and New York standards!). […] We coped because we only had a three day visit, but had we had bigger suitcases and were there for longer we would have needed to change rooms. The corner shower cubicle was tiny - any women bigger than a UK size 12 would have struggled to fit in! My 6'2', weight lifting husband had an 'interesting' experience with each shower (which admittedly did give me a giggle every day!). Other than the room size and shower size, I would recommend - just ask for a different room number as the other rooms were bigger!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is in a great location - within easy walking distance to all the major sights. The room wasn't as nice as my last stay in this hotel (but it was Easter and much busier, so to be expected). The staff are fabulous.Genuine Expedia guest review

got stung first minute with a hidden 16 euro tax, wifi hardly worked, staff not bothered, didnt realise ham cheese and eggs available with breakfast but you have to wait ages, yolks green! staff bang around at all hours spoiled my experience totally.............after staying in over 500 hotels, this slid straight into the bottom tenGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel close to attractions"
I wasn't too sure if we booked the right hotel leading up to our stay, but my worries was put to rest as soon as we arrived. The staff were friendly, the hotel was clean and it was in a great location for all the tourist spots, we walked almost everywhere on our stay and it all took anything from 10mins to 30mins. This is a good 3 star hotel, the rooms […] aren't huge and they could do with some tea and coffee facilities in the room, and the walls could b thicker but we buth had brilliant nights sleep and the bathroom was a good size. The staff were very helpful throughout our whole stay. I would def book this hotel again if I was lucky enough to cone back to Rome. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Fit for purpose hotel in an excellent location"
We had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel Verona for 4 nights. It's not a luxurious hotel but worth what we paid for it and the staff are very friendly and the location is excellent. Only 10 minutes walk to the colosseum, 15 mins to trevi fountain, 1 hr to the Vatican City...we didn't get on the metro at all as feel walking is the best way to explore […] the city. "Perfect Spot in the old town"
The hotel is in a great location within the "Old Town" just right beside the Piazza Maggiore. 5 minutes walk to the colosseum and surrounding tourist attractions. From there you can walk everywhere. Lots of little restaurants around with some wine bars and various places to eat and drink. We did not take one single taxi for our whole 3 days stay, everything […] is within walking distance and besides each road you walk on is full of attractive architecture to view as you walk so why wouldn't you walk. If you don't want to walk the metro or buses are very close. This hotel is 10-15 mins walk away from the main Termini so if you get a train or bus to Termini from the airport you can get to the hotel quite fast. The hotel was small but nice, realistically if you're expecting something very upper class this may not suit you. It is definitely a 3 star but by no means lacking in quality. The rooms were clean, bathroom was clean and room service come each day. Receptionists were all very very helpful, their English is very very good and they will help with anything. There is complementary internet access in the reception also. Breakfast was a buffet with bread, pastries, cereal, tea/coffee and ham, cheese or eggs on request. Again staff were very nice and helpful. I would recommend if your budget stretches perhaps to have breakfast out as the coffee in Italy is just simply amazing and the coffee in the hotel is from a machine with the exception of a simple espresso. "Good value for money"
Hotel is very well located. Less than 10 minutes walk to the Coliseum. Close to public transport (Metro Cavour Station or Termini Station). Hotel is in good condition and the breakfast is very good. Reception is open 24h and all staff I had contact with has been very helpful and courteous. The only thing I didn't like about the hotel is that the bedroom […] I stayed in (206) didn't have a full sized mirror and the shower doesn't have glass doors, it is actually shower curtains which wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for the small size of the bathroom. It means everytime you have a shower, the whole bathroom gets wet. Hotel is very good overwall... really good value for money. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Everything you needed"
This was just a short walk from the Termini Station. The hotel itself is presented well on first impressions. The room was nice, the bed was slightly hard for my liking and not enough pillows, the bathroom could have done with some investment, it seemed as though they stopped decorating half way through. The reception were extremely helpful in helping […] us get around town, supplying maps and directions. All the cities attractions are easily accessible from the hotel, either by walking or Public Transport. I'd probably not chose to stay here again if i were visiting Rome again. "Excellent family hotel in the centre of Rome!"
We came across as a young family for a 2 week holiday staying in a family room at the hotel Verona. During this time, the staff were friendly and helpful, booking taxis when required, offering information on location - including the weather! The breakfast was an excellent continental choice and the drink options were varied and tasty. The room itself […] was split into two for the family with the children being separated by a half dividing wall allowing that extra piece of privacy that we as the parents loved! The location is excellent, 10mins walk away from Termini (the main Rome train station) and close to all the local attractions - the forum etc is about a mile walk away. And on the doorstep of the pope's parish church - Santa Maria Maggiore! As an added extra bit of colour, there was an excellent gelateria around the corner with the tastiest ice-cream this side of the vatican! Finally, speaking of the vatican, the metro service from Termini leads to all the popular Rome destinations; as a quirky destination I would highly recommend the zoo in Borghese park for those with children. "Nice clean hotel with friendly staff"
Hotel location is good, staffs are friendly and nice. The room is small for a family and the shower is , not exactly a shower its just a curtain drawn across a square. The breakfast was not great. Other than this everything else is good. In other words its a good 3 star hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great bed and breakfast close to the sites"
Hotel in a good location, close to restaurants and only 10 min walk to the Colosseum. The main other sites we managed to walk to in one round trip. We took a taxi to the Vatican on another day which the hotel arranged for us which cost around €14, we had young children with us and didn't fancy navigating the metro or bus in the intense heat we had in […] Rome during our stay. The hotel itself was lovely, very clean and the staff were very helpful. The rooms are a good size, with a fridge so we could keep some drinks cool to take out with us. The air conditioning was very welcome on our return each day. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good location but poor to mediocre otherwise"
This hotel has a convenient location next to Santa Maria Maggiore and a short walk from Termini, but not much else going for it. The room was a reasonable size, but the furniture and general decor were shabby. There was a constant humming in the room due to our bathroom fan and possibly the one from the room beside us, which we could not control. Occassionally […] our fan or the other would shut off but rarely both, so there was constantly some annoying background noise and furthermore, the walls were just not at all sound proof so we could hear everything from the surrounding rooms or the alley next to us. The breakfast area was actually quite nice, but it was understaffed with a poor single worker stocking the food, clearing tables and doing the dishes. The selection of the food at breakfast was pretty limited in comparison to the other hotels that we stayed at in Italy. Overall, this hotel was disappointing, but not terrible. If we had gotten a great price, I would not complain about such details, but for what we paid, I was hoping for more. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Dont Stay at Hotel Verona-Rome if you need Wifi"
The hotel has a good location near the central railway station. Front desk staff were generally courteous helpful. Quite nice breakfast. My only real complaint relates to their Wifi. Each guest is supposed tro have 50mb per day free, but mine never lasted more than 10 minutes and then dropped out, even as I only checking email. This happened every day. […] When i spoke to the front desk (there is only1 person on duty ) they either blamed the Wifi provider or told me than my laptop was old and used more MbS- even thoufgh the same thing happened ON my iPhone for downloads. Clearly theIR wifi is faulty= very frustrating. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel close to the sights of Rome"
Myself and my fiancee stayed at this hotel for our first visit to Rome for a five day city break in June 2013. It was superbly placed within the centre of Rome for all of the places that we wanted to visit. We were able to walk to the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, Palatine hill and were also very close to a bus stop for the hop on hop off bus tours […] which were able to take us to the Vatican city, the Spanish steps and the Pantheon. We would highly recommend this hotel if you want to stay within close distance of all the sight seeing monuments and places in Rome. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and all spoke good English. The room was comfortable and although the bathroom was on the small side it was perfectly adequate for our needs. The buffet breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of choice including pastries, toast, cereal, meat, cheese and eggs. I would recommend taking your own hair dryer with you as the one in the hotel is very basic and attached to the wall in the bathroom. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The staff were helpful in finding us a room with two beds because of a misunderstanding about us wanting twin beds rather than a double bed. It was a reasonable price in a good location. The breakfast was rather disappointing and not very healthy with no fresh fruit and fruit juice was sweetened. There was a reluctance to supply fresh cappuccino even […] though they had the machine they tried to get us to use the automatic machine instead. However overall it was a good choice. The hotel is what you would expect for the price, don't expect spacious rooms with modern decor. It is however very clean, provides good value for money and has helpful pleasant staff. "A hidden Gem"
What a wonderful 'little gem' of a hotel. Everyone of the staff that we had any contact with, were very helpful, very polite. From Allessandro & Mauricio on the front desk to Giovanna in the breakfast room. It was a 'breath of fresh air' to meet such lovely and accommodating people. The hotel was very clean and tidy, the breakfast was well presented. […] If I had one criticism it would be that one of our party uses a wheelchair and we were told that this was not a problem as there is a lift in the hotel, which was true but..................you had to climb a small flight of stairs to get to the lift. The lift then stops between floors ie: when you get out of the lift you either have to go up some stairs to get to one floor or down some stairs to get to the other floor!! Not practical for wheelchairs. Luckily he used his crutches (but stairs were still 'hard work'). We would definetaly book and stay again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
