Belambra City Hôtel Magendie - Paris

I had a comfortable stay in the hotel. It was recently renovated and rooms were clean. Room were quite small. I left my pajama in the hotel and asked them to send it back to me, but they do not answer. I am very unsatisfied with this hotel service!

We chose this hotel due to location and price. The location ended up being good, but we were put on a floor in desperate need of renovations. Signs were posted saying that renovations are underway.....and they are obviously way overdue! I would not recommend the hotel until all renovations are complete.

Flaky wifi (available only in the lobby, btw), unhelpful staff (when asked about places to go for food nearby), and a mediocre breakfast. The staff is, however, friendly, the location is good (not right in the middle of everything but close to the subway), and the rooms are decent (although quite small).

The rooms are extremely clean and functional., but not a lot of extra frills. It does lack plugs to charge cell phones, etc., but the inconvenience is minor. The staff was extremely helpful, made good suggestions for restaurants, etc., and even suggested which subway stop was preferable for me walking with a cane! The place was close to a metro station, and so, it was well connected to other places in Paris. The room was in really good condition and I had no issues with the stay. The room was small, but given that you are in the hotel only to sleep, it is alright. Compared to the other hotel in the area, this one was the cheapest in hotel.com. While not the fanciest hotel, it was in a convenient location not far from two different metro stops (about 5-10 minute walk), and there are a number of restaurants nearby. We didn't spend much time in the hotel room but rather just as a place to lay our heads at night.

I stayed in this hotel for two nights on a business trip. It is a nice, clean and quite hotel. However, one should note that Paris is one of those cities that teaches gratitude to travelers. I heard many horror stories about Paris hotels and had my share of them in my previous trip. So I must emphasize that I arrived in this hotel with very low expectations […] and when I say that it is a nice hotel, I am making a comparative statement. One of the thinks that you should note is that, although the hotel's location is convenient, it is also somewhat difficult to find. I got lost in my both nights of stay trying to find it. Luckily the neighborhood is nice and safe. You should also note that, although the hotel advertises to have free wireless access, what they mean is that they offer wireless access "only in the lobby, only for the first day of your stay and only for a total of half an hour." I am planning to stay in this hotel again during my next visit to Paris. Not because it is a really good hotel, but because I believe it is as good as a hotel in this price range can get in Paris. I would have to give this hotel a 4 out of 5 stars. I personaly knew about two words in French (bonjour and bonsoir) yet the entire staff was very helpful giving me great directions and suggestions when every I needed any asistance.

I enjoyed my stay. It was close to the Metro, and it was about a 40 minute walk to the Seine and the area where most of the tourist sights are. For me, I liked walking (and biking--20 minutes) through the streets of Paris. There is also a bike-sharing pickup between the hotel and the Metro if that's something you're interested in. For all the crazy […] streets of Paris, Rue du Monge is a direct route to get downtown, and Rue de St. Jacques is a direct route to get back. It's also not far from Montparnasse--a place to get a view of Paris at night--and it was nice to be closer to my hotel when I did that. There are great student areas close by at Palace D'Italie. The hotel itself was not overly fancy but more than adequate. It was nice to have breakfast taken care of in the morning. I enjoyed being away from the super touristy area and getting to see other parts of Paris. If you feel the same, then this hotel is great and well worth it. If you prefer to be closer to the sights, this place may not be for you. Read more

Dark spot (size of a dinner plate) on ceiling over TV in our room and our relatives' room on the same 4th floor. Curtains were not clean. The hotel's location was okay considering the nearby buslines and its 6 block proximaty to the Open Tour bus line and the metro train line. Meets all basic needs. The rooms were small (welcome to France), but everything was clean and it was surprisingly nice to have breakfast on-site. My first thought was "you have to be kidding me". The staff was particularly unhelpful, nothing at the hotel was like the photos on Expedia, the rooms tiny, filthy and poorly equipped, in desparate need not so much of a deep cleaning but of replacement, the amenities virtually non-existent (and TVs that barely show a handful of channels) and the location […] is inconvenient. We spent the most unpleasant night ever and checked the next morning into another hotel. WE MADE RESERVATIONS HERE IN RELIANCE OF THE IMAGES SHOWN AND THE NAME APARTHOTEL BUT THIS PROPERTY HAS NO SUCH THING AS APARTMENTS and the staff very rudely suggested that if we wanted that kind of service we should have checked into a "better" hotel. The wireless internet really only works in lobby, though I was able to access it okay in my room on the third floor. Overall, the surrounding area was quiet (perhaps because classes were not in session). Since the room was warm and we needed to have the windows open, any street noises during the night were more pronounced. […] The desk clerks were helpful as we tried to figure out the mass transit system. This hotel was a great price for Paris, overall we were very happy. There was free internet available and breakfast on-site (which we never did). We are an active young couple who planned on doing a lot of walking, so we didn't mind that the Metro(right to the Eiffel Tower) was a 10 minute walk from the hotel. We walked to Notre Dame (Ile de la Cite) […] from the hotel, about a 45 minute walk down Boulevard St Michel. For the price, I was happy to walk an extra few minutes. When I checked in my small room had no pillow and no remote for the TV, which seemed to be damaged. I thought, "Really bare-bones!" We spent four nights at this hotel and I was very happy with it. We were close enough to all the sights but far enough to be able to enjoy a real Parisian neighbourhood. The desk staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was well located for transit and restaurants. The rooms are no frills but are serviceable. I would easily stay here again.

No air con, no in room safe, but at least it was free breakfast, which wasn't too bad. Very noisie outside the hotel early morning, which was not the best, cause of no air con, I ended up having the window open all night, so makes the noise even worse.

The room is relative small, the bathroom is really small, but it was clean and the staff was very friendly and everybody spoke English. The breakfast was much better than expected. The location is good, quiet, but close to the center and metro stations. I would reccommend it to my friends.
