Corinda's Cottages - Glebe

This Motel and all lodging in Australia is way over priced!! There is nothing at any number of stars under $100 per night! This Motel was the highest priced of the week !!!~~ It was comfortable, quality linens and towels, but very noisy. Advertised as WI FI in the room ..believe me there is NOT! Signal is very weak and did not connect but every second or two. Larger downloads would not work at all. There was an electric heater in the room but not plugged in and NO instructions as to how to turn it on. For some strange reason Aussies have an ON /OFF switch on every single receptacle. On most you can tell if it is on but some You cannot. so that was a factor in trying to turn the heater on as it got rather chilly in the room before dawn.

The hotel was perfectly located adjacent to the airport. The hotel staff was knowledgeable and accommodating. The restaurant was excellent and the shuttle drivers were friendly and helpful. I had an extra day and appreciated the free shuttle service into downtown Hobart which enabled me to see the city.

I wanted an inexpensive motel within a reasonable distance of downtown Hobart. The bus stop was 10 minutes walk from the hotel, and once on the bus it takes 11 minutes to get into Hobart. I was pleasantly surprised with the number and convenience of the electric plugs in the room. WiFi worked well. Cooking facilities were also a plus. There is a refrigerator and microwave in the room, and a common kitchen area with stoves. Laundry facilities were sort of an afterthought, but were perfectly adequate. A bit of a walk to the nearest grocery store. I would stay there again.

We were completely satisfied with this hotel and loved having a balcony that overlooked the harbor in Hobart. It really was a superior choice. The hotel is within easy walking distance of all downtown points of interest, including the annual beerfest in November. Parking is outside on the dock, but there is no sense of a security problem. Units are very clean and bright, if not elegant, and the staff is cheerful and efficient. Highly recommended. The other Somerset in town has a lot of adjacent construction as of November 2012. Note: your credit card will be charged $100. deposit and it takes about 5 or 6 days to have the hold released. By all means visit MONA and head down to Hastings Caves while in the vicinity!

Rosie and Colin, our hosts, were lovely and we found the B&B very comfortable and charming. It's located in a beautiful area and there's lots of sitting-around space there. However we were sightseeing, so the drawback for us was that it was about 30 minutes outside of Hobart and far from the attractions (and good restaurants) of Hobart.
