I arrived late, and someone was there to meet me with a smile. The spa and exercise rooms are opem 24 hours, which is nice for late arrivals. The hotel was really nicely appointed and quiet. I was able to open my window and sleep with it open all night without noise problems. Breakfast was good...better than other budget hotels, with a nice selection […] of toast, bagels, pastries, a hot selection (mini-egg-cheese omelets with fixings, and sausages). Again, friendly staff. Bathrooms were nice a roomy, with awesome shower head. Comfy firm bed with no sagging (YEAH!). For the price, this was an excellent place. This is still a decent place to stay but you can really tell the ownership has changed - soap the size of a postage stamp, empty toilet paper rolls, sub standard TV's and not nearly as clean as it used to be.

Our room was not ready when we got there and we had to wait 3 hours to get a room on the same floor as the other party we were traveling with even though we asked to be next to each other. When we did get our room there were no bath towels. Friends' weekend. My girlfriend and I found the staff friendly and helpful. Water bottles upon check in, hot cookies in the afternoon, complimentary newspaper at the front desk. The complimentary breakfast was one of the reasons we picked this hotel. They have hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fresh fruit, hot and cold cereal, a choice of juices, coffee, omelets, […] sausages, gravy and biscuits. it was the same every day but I thought that was good. The air conditioner did not appear to be working causing it to be a little warm in the room. The room just became more humid than cool. The breakfast was mediocre for microwaved eggs and sausage. The staff was very nice and professional. The pool area was nice and well kept.

Staff were pleasant and helpful. We needed a roll away bed and it was in the room when we arrived. On the previous night in a different hotel, we had to call the desk to remind them about the extra bed. Our boys loved the pool and the fitness center.

We stayed here for two nights when we had to be in town for a memorial service. The location wouldn't have worked for any kind of recreation or vacation, it's a little far if you're going to be hanging out in Portland, but it's perfect if you need to be in Vancouver for a couple of days. The price was comparable to places by PDX and about $20 more than […] some of the nastier spots just south in Hazel Dell and Downtown Vancouver. My only beef is that I thought there was going to be a mini-fridge in the room (according to Hotels.com) and there wasn't. The lesson is to call ahead first. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and overall friendliness of the staff. The toilet was not working in our room as we checked in, but we were quickly moved to a different room on the same floor with little effort. We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is very nice, the room is comfortable. Our room was very clean, and the hotel looks to be well maintained. There is lots of parking. I think this hotel was a step above the other hotels in Salmon Creek. We have stayed at many of the others and had some problem at all of them. No problems at this hotel.

I really LOVED staying here!! The pool is 24 hours and there was hardly anyone staying on this particular weekend which made the experience that much more enjoyable.. However I was placed in the incorrect room but that was NOT the hotels fault.. I booked an executive king suite through hotels.com because I have an very young child and needed a refrigerator […] and microwave for his milk. hotels.com sent my reservation to gateway inn express as a traditional king room. When I asked for it to be changed because there was clearly a mix up.. I was unable to because hotels.com's mistake.. Not having the necessary appliances I needed in my room, made it very inconvenient for my family.. My fiance and I stayed at Gateway Inn Express while attending a wedding in the area. I had booked the room online a week in advance. When we showed up, the girl behind the counter looked confused and said she did not have our reservation. Even when I showed her the confirmation letter I had, she kept saying, we don't have it. She finally tracked it […] down in some book and was bewildered as to why it wasn't in the computer. She was nice enough, but deep down I think that there may have been an issue getting the room had she not found that piece of paper. When she did get us checked in, it wasn't even the room we had booked, but we had no time to deal with it because of the time it took to check us in.
