The rooms were great. Had a king suite. Very roomy. First night there they had a manager's meal and breakfast was ok. Very pleasant stay!

We enjoyed the stay very much. Rooms have a like new feel. A/C and heat work great. Love the suite. It adds a feeling of being in someones home. Try it you will like it.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express as a break in our Thanksgiving travels. We found the staff to be very attentive and kind. The room was very, very clean and the hotel was in a very convenient location. We will stay at this hotel next time we are in the area. Thank you!!

I was disappointed. While the staff were friendly, the hotel was really outdated. The carpeting in the room needed to be stretched and looked old and dirty. The bedding was not smooth and comfortable. The bathroom corners and finish work looked unclean.

I was on the 3rd floor and had asked for a non-smoking room. Half of the floor was smoking and the whole floor stunk badly. I put a towel under the door to try and block the smell and used a lot of Febreeze - didn't help much.

I didn't know what to expect when I booked this hotel in this small Texan town, but I was pleasently surprised. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We spent 4 nights at the hotel and every day our room was restocked and cleaned as though we had just arrived. The free breakfast was good, and the coffee was excellent, and there was a stack of newspapers […] ready for the taking. They even provided a happy hour for guests on Tues, Wed, and Thursdays, with pizza, soft drinks, wine, and beer. The swimming pool was located in the back parking lot, but was kept very clean and well maintained. My only complaint is that there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom, and things were very damp because of it. This is definitely where we will stay again next year when we visit our daughter and her family. Read more

The room was a king suite and the bed area is separated by a small wall. The sitting room includes a queen sofa bed, a very large comfortable chair, and a desk and office chair. The entry has the bath (with hair dryer and magnifying mirror) on one side and the closet with iron and board, and a long cabinet with lots of storage under the countertop: […] this piece holds all the coffee/tea setups and a microwave with a small fridge under. The bed was comfortable with 4 pillows and very good linens. Across from the bed was another chest with storage and a 36" flat screen TV. WiFi is included, as is a good breakfast: eggs, sausages, cereals, instant oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, milk, rolls, bagels, toast, and pretty good coffee. If you did not want the powered creamers they also had a bottle of real half and half. The linens for the sofa bed is stored in the closet so that you do not have to wait for housekeeping to bring them to the room. Staff was very helpful and the place was clean. We were in Brownwood for my husband to attend a meeting located near the hotel. The hotel was informed that it would be a late arrival. The attendant was very pleasant and said that would be no problem. On arrival we checked in quickly. The hotel was attractive and our room was ready for us. It was a very comfortable king suite. Our room and the hotel […] were nicely furnished and very clean. The breakfast bar was clean and served a good variety of food. We were there with another couple. The other wife and I enjoyed a comfortable visit in the breckfast area & lobby while waiting for our husbands to return. Although our stay was short, we enjoyed this hotel. Staff was very friendly & attentive. When I asked the night manager if she knew about the different restaurants in the area, as the guide in the room listed contact info only, she was very helpful with types of cuisine & hours of operation. The room had 2 queen-size beds, and they both had a tilt in the mattress to where you felt like you were falling […] off the bed, so had to sleep on the right side of the bed closest to the door. Breakfast was goo: the eggs folded with cheese in the middle could have been warmer, and the tongs used to pick up the food are the long types used for BBQ grills, not the size of your hand so you didn't feel like you were going to drop the item, which actually happened to another guest. Enjoyed the stay, room was great. Parking at the front door was limited, as a result, when checking in, had to park in the back. The entrance from the back was through double-doors and as a security measure, those doors are locked 24x7 via room mag-card. I understand the security, would prefer to enter the front doors when checking in.

I tried to book a room at this hotel with Holiday Inn Priority Club and they said nothing was available. You got me a room with no problem and they still gave me the Priority Club points. I have had problem with 3 out of five of my Holiday Inn reservations through Priority Club so as long as I get points with them I will use Hotels. com instead.

Hotel has maintenance and front desk issues. The key card readers do not work on the back door causing a long walk to the front. Luckily other guests let me in at times...not very safe though. Elevator is extremely slow. After the first night, my key card would not work and had to get it reprogrammed. After asking for change for a twenty dollar bill […] to buy food and drink from their vending machines, I was told "you are the last one getting change tonight". Upon checkout, I had to wait for the desk clerk that was on the phone with an employee that apparently was calling out for their shift. Finally after waiting without being acknowledged, I just told her my room number and left my key cards on the counter and left. The bright spot was the breakfast, and the breakfast hostess.
