"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.

We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.
""Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.
"Nice hotel in the theatre district"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012

Exceptional staff, great location, close to subway, bookstore, shops and more. Will stay here again!!!
Beautifully decorated and comfortable room. Great location. Would stay here again.

Stayed on the 15th floor and the hallway carpet was stained throughout the floor. The door in my bathroom was broken and a few of the towels were stained. Highly disappointed in the W Union Square - by far the worst W hotel I have stayed.

"Great property, Great Staff, Great Location"
Great stay, very accomodating staff. No complaints!
"ok but..."
Rented a room for 3 for a night out in the city... specifically asked Hotels.com to note that a foldaway cot was needed. When checking in, we were told by hotel employees at front desk that the room we had booked was too small for a foldaway and it would be against the law to place one in there. We then stated why did they give us the room when we asked […] specifically for a foldaway cot??? The guy at the desk kept saying we booked through a 3rd party so it wasn't there fault.... Really??? Way to treat customers... The manager eventually came out and was able to find a room large enough to fit the cot but the view was a cement wall. Read more
"Great Location - Good Service Recovery"
We had an issue getting into our room - frustrating but once the manager got involved they handled it well. The hotel is good mostly because of the location - can't beat union square.

"Spectacular Hotel, Spectacular vacation"
We thoroughly enjoyed New York by staying at the Union Sq W. I will definitely stay here again. The price was a great deal for the location. Very close to Union Sq park where a key subway is located for east access to the entire city. Walking distance to many hot spots for clubs and bars and restaurants. Loved it! The bed and pillows were so amazing […] and the size of the room was great for new york! Cannot speak more highly. What do you expect? Its the W! Read more
"Great room rude staff"
I have stayed at many W's the staff at this hotel acted like our prescence was a complete annoyance to them. There are so many places to stay in NYC, places were they are not rude. I lived in NYC for 15 years. There are many kind helpful people in the city but you are not going to find them here.
"Great location and close to subway"
This was a great hotel. It was in a great neighborhood and the subway was nearby so it made it easy to get anywhere in the city. Rooms were a nice size for NYC and were comfortable. Would definitely stay again!
"W Union Square"
The staff are very nice but the hotel is lacking maintenance. The shower bathroom pipes made strange noises and the water was cold. The ipod dock also did not work. The staff are very nice and honest people though, I left my ipod and they were able to find it for me and keep it in their safe for me to pick up at my convenience. The reason why I would […] not recommend this place is because I am too old (28) for dim light, boutique-ish feeling hotels. "Bed bugs in hotel"
I stayed there for 3 days and after coming home, I had multiple bites on my leg which leads me to believe this hotel has bed bugs as I was wearing jeans every day of my trip. Everything else was great but having bug bites when you least expect it is why I wouldn't recommend staying here.

"Really awesome hotel."
Just wow.
"W Hotel Union Square-NY"
This is one of my favorite places to stay, both because I love the W, but also its location. My three chief complaints is 1) The shower head in my room was terrible. Not all of the nozzles worked and the ones that did, sprayed in all different directions. 2) There is no recycling bin for plastics and other recyclable items. I think this is something […] that should implemented. 3) Some sort of high buzzing noise, like an open emergency door sound or something, kept going off and seemed a consistent sound throughout my stay. Otherwise, an amazing place to be, especially if you have the $$ for it. Read more
"Good concept lacks attention to details"
Frankly I was dissappointed. Overall the the concept works. But one towel and bathrobe for 2 people, running out of soap, and hair under the sink, left us with less than happy moments. The refrigerator was packed with very expensive snacks, leaving no room for some items that we brought that needed refrigeration. The service and other amenities were […] very good. Read more

"Elegant hotel, fabulous location"
The hotel is well situated in Union Square near many wonderful restaurants. The hotel staff is helpful, friendly and made me feel very welcome though it would have been nice to have a doorman--I along with other guests struggled into the hotel with heavy bags on a busy Friday night. The common space, hallways are lovely. I loved the subdued, stylish […] decor of my room--especially the wonderfully large desk, high quality flat screen tv with DVD player, etc. The room service was worth the price---and came lightning speed with warm, friendly service and enormous portions of delicious food. My only complaint is that with the kind of money one pays to stay here the housekeeping (or 'styling' as they call it) should be much more on top of things. My room was barely cleaned---dust balls in several places on the carpet, sticky food remains on the desk, and it was generally very dusty. The beautiful bed spread needs to be replaced as well. It wouldn't have hurt if they would offer turn down service. Other than the housekeeping issues, I had a lovely stay and would try them again if I was assured of a very clean room. Read more
"Great location to see NYC"
We had only two days in NYC for the opening of the new Beechers Handmade Cheese restaraunt on 20th and Broadway. The W was located within three blocks and centrally located for everything else. The subway access at Union Square was perfect!
"Was good 10 years ago"
W Hotel Union Square was a cool & hip hotel 10 years ago but act like they still are. Staff was unfriendly, standard of the hotel shabby for what you pay and very suspicious when they didn't find the reservation at first. And what's up with the bodyguards outside, not the mot welcoming guys. To the staff at W Hotel: Service is all - not attitude.
We just spent one night in the city - this hotel provided superb accomodations in a convienent location for us. I would recommend any of the NY W hotels.

"Absolutely great stay in NYC!"
My wife and I recently visited NYC. We lived there about 2 years ago and this was our first visit back. The hotel was in a great location and our room was very large for NYC. The hotel staff were unbelievably courteous and I had Managers call me to ensure that everything was ok with my stay. It wasn't ok though-it was GREAT! I would recommend this […] hotel to everyone. "Beyond the blue.."
Why beyond the blue... it was like heaven. I was welcome in a most friendly manner, given a better room, checked in immediately, room was comfortable and clean... Not to mention that it was my birthday and in the evening I was surprised with a birthday dessert which was presented with such good taste! Beautiful! The staff were attentive at all times. "The W is Always Our First Choice in NYC"
Staying at the W is always a first class experience. Spotless rooms, incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Front desk upgraded us to a Mega room just because I mentioned that it was my birthday. Great restaurant and bar with excellent people-watching opportunities. We've stayed at the W several times and have never had a single complaint. Top satisfaction […] ratings across the board. "W Union Square"
One of my better Manhattan hotel experiences; confirming you get what you pay for. 400 sq. ft room, bigger than most, well-run, clean. And while the Olives restaurant/bar gets busy, the configuration of the lobby avoids that loud hotel-as-bar feeling when you come in at night - it's nice and quiet. Only complaint is that Olives, while having good food, […] has terrible, slow, inattentive service. I was there 3 times during my stay, and it was never acceptable. And at cocktail hour when it gets busy, service goes from bad to truly awful. Fire that restaurant manager, now! Read more
"W NYC Union Square"
Everything was very nice but the wifi charges surprised me. They were VERY high and I have come to expect this to be included with the room. Other than that it was great. Super clean, very comfortable, and roomy by NY standards. DVD player in room was a nice touch.

"W Union Square: the good and the gross"
Was very excited to stay in the W Union Square, the building was spectacular, the location perfect, however we ended up staying in a subpar room because we didn't want to waste time switching rooms and the room itself was spacious and well appointed. Hotel room reeked not only of smoke, but of air freshener. Later realized carpet was soaking wet under […] my bare feet. I've stayed at W's before in other locations and love them. This was a disappointment in comparison. Read more

"W - New York"
VERY expensive! Minor irritation - didn't provide a shower cap. HATED 24-hour rock music in all public spaces. The room was very comfortable with little interior noise, but street sounds could still be heard on the sixteenth floor.

"Thread Bare"
I was expecting a lot more from the reputation of a W hotel property. It was expensive and did not meet my expectations. I found the lobby and the lounge area to be beautifully decorated. I was very disappointed after that. The carpet in the hallways was dirty and had pools of stains throughout from water damage. The baseboards and all trims in the […] rooms were badly in need of paint. The wallpaper was worn. The bathroom was sub standard for the price. No newer hotel in this category has a tub shower. Carpet in room was coming up. It was just a bit worn out. All public areas were dimly lit. I liked the staff there. All friendly and happy to serve. The place was just run down. Loved the location, but I would not pay the money to stay there again. Read more
