Indian Hills Inn Taos Plaza - Taos

Phone did not work, remote to tv did not work, curtains did not close. Overstuffed chair had stains - did not feel very clean. Maintenance was lacking. Would not recommend to anyone which is unfortunate because the location was quite good.

The Indian Hills Motel is a big long "a tooth". The location is great. To compensate, a shrewd manager would have at least good house keepers but this seemed to be where costs were cut. The room in 4 days was never cleaned. No new towels or TP, the original towels were stained and the waste basket only were emptied upon request. It was not a pleasant […] experience. We stayed one night on our way to somewhere else. The location is great, and our room was as requested. This hotel needs major maintenance, but is still adequate for short stays. The best part of the hotel is the hard boiled eggs served in the morning. Good source of protein if your going to go skiing. Of course, the hotel breakfast area opens at 7:00 a.m., and the eggs and yogurt were gone by 7:15 a.m. It is highly suggested that you be first in the doors so you can have your choice of breakfast before the pickings are slim. […] Breakfast choices are lacking and you need to be self serving. Great coffee, but room conditions are not desirable (loud, dirty, etc.). Service was below par and the rooms are not the cleanest of its kind. One important item of note - the location is perfect walking distance to many locations in town. There is no need to drive in town, which was great. We had stayed here before because of location and price, but this will probably be our last. Housecleaning was poor, the sink didn't drain, sheets and blanket was old and the pillows need to be upgraded.

For folks like us that did not bring our laptop and have no "smart phone", we had to use the "public" computer supplied in the lobby-----it was just painfully slow, froze up frequently and had to be rebooted constantly. The shampoo "packets" provided were contained a very minimul amount of shampoo. It was our first time in Taos and the hotel was easy to find. Not much of a view to the courtyard because our window faced the stairwall. Yes we were on the second floor. Would have liked a ground level room. I will request that next time. All in all our stay here was good.

The hotel was old, and bad maintened. Maybe we were particularlly unlucky, but the room nearby were occupied by people drinking beer, and one of them was throwing up. Convenient location, but very depressing place. We decided to change hotel the same night. Not a good place for families.

We stayed at Indian Hills for a couple of nights and the inn has many positives and a few negatives. First, the staff was great, helpful and happy to serve. Second, the beds (queens) were very comfortable, better than most chain hotels even. Third, the location was nice, walking distance to food and shops. Fourth the outdoor space was nice also. Plenty […] of room to relax outside in a large yard. The down side is the inn is old and showing its age. If you are looking for posh, this is not it. Bathrooms are small. The rooms are a little dark and the outside of the inn needs some work and a little liter removal. If you would like a cheap, comfortable, friendly place to stay this is it. A blast from the past. Same fixtures, same paint, maybe even the same dust in the corners. Daniel was a bright spot and one of the reasons the rating is not a 1 star. Someone was kind enough to teepee the car next to mine in the parking lot and decorate mine with beer cans.

The morning person was very grumpy when asked for plates for the breakfast area. He slammed out of the office and went across the street to buy them. The building needs a lot of clean up and there were weeds in the parking lot.

We stayed for three nights and really enjoyed our stay at the Indian Hills Plaza. The rooms were really clean and the bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in at a hotel. It is located so close to great shopping and galleries. We will stay here again when we come back to Taos.
