Staying at Howard Johnson Flagstaff AZ was ok. The room was an alright size. I got a great deal on the price when you book about a month early. The one thing that the website states was a king size bed when we got there it was about a full size bed so I thought that was funny. It was clean when we got there. The one thing I really like about this stay was the heat light in the restroom because when you shower either in the morning or night the floor and the restroom wouldn't be cold plus the mirror didn't fog up. If I had another trip there in Flagstaff I would stay there again just for that.
"Quiet, Affordable, Comfortable, Convenient, Etc."
Stayed on second floor unit. Great layout and use of space. Fridge, stove, sink, balcony, separate bedroom, able to sleep 4 with foldout couch, separate dining area and more. "Needs Updating"
The room I was in was so outdated that it didn't feel clean. I could see debris in the heating vents in the floor. The main areas of the hotel were nice, and most of the folks who work there were very nice and helpful. "Don't knock it if you haven't tried it!"
When arriving late in the evening we had a problem finding our room. It took awhile to locate it and I didn't care for carrying my own heavy luggage around the grounds and up to the second floor. For the dollar amount spent I expected the room to be a little larger. It had appliances stacked on top of each other which had to be moved to use. I understand […] the whole I-Phone thing but what is wrong with just a simple FM radio alarm easy to set. I was a little surprised as to not seeing any security on the grounds at all. We had evening activities that required walking the grounds in some darkened areas that didn't seem real safe. "Enough with the Open House invitations!"
Watch out for the "Resort Fee"! This seems to be a common trick for getting for getting more money out of you, and it's very annoying. If you book a hotel online, the price should be all-inclusive and NOT have an additional $15 (+ tax) fee added on once you get there. Also, if you're going to try and sell your time-shares, invite people ONCE and then […] LET IT DROP. They asked me 3 times. And then only once even offered any kind of incentive. Additionally, the room had no cold water, believe it or not. Only lukewarm water came out of the cold faucet. And the toilet flushed very slowly. "Los Abrigados ~ The Inn (hard to find our room)"
No daily service (towels, cleaning, bed-making). Heating of room was inefficient. Bathroom was never warm. Wall unit blower blew curtains all the time which kept us awake. Very dry forced air continuous. It was a reasonable rate and a nice appointed room, but the condition and service was laking. And nobody at the resort could actually direct us to […] our room ~ which was 307 at The Inn at Los Abrigados. It ended up being down a dark sidewalk and up a spiral staircase ~ no directions out front as to where it was located and nobody at the resort could direct us to the room either. "Not worth the price"
We arrived around 6pm and waited in line to get checked in for about a half hour. There were two front desk employees doing the checking in, while there were four people @ the concierge desk booking people for a 90 minute tour/sales pitch. We just wanted to go to our room! "Overnight stay"
We only spent one night so didn't use any of the resort facilities. The room was nice. The resort is a timeshare facility so we actually stayed in a small one bedroom apartment. The bedroom had a king size bed which was comfortable. The bathroom was adequate. It had an older style shower, in the tube, sliding doors type. "Questionable hotel practices"
The hotel room was okay despite the many reviews I had read about it needing renovation. The bathroom shower door was the old slider type that was stuck and I was afraid it was going to fall and break. The room had a deceiving fireplace that had lights that looked like fire, I have never seen this before. The hotel also charges an additional 15.00 fee. Booked this resort for my friends birthday. Planning on a relaxing weekend. This did not include being up and out of my room by 10:00 on Sunday. I have never stayed in a hotel that had a checkout earlier then 11:00 and even then most resorts will extend your checkout time til 12:00 with out any additional charges.Planned on a early hike and then shower […] and out by 12. No such luck. Another note is this property holds $250.00 on your credit card. It was also interesting that with a check in of 4:00 and check out of 10:00 they charge you a resort fee of $15. "Sedona Getaway"

A few years ago we used Expedia and made a reservation at a different hotel in Sedona and when the front desk staff verified I booked with Expedia they treated my husband and I like we weren't good enough to stay there. We enjoyed our stay. The concierge will only tell you about activivties, and shopping, and restaurants that they are affiliated with. There is good shopping & eateries right on the same property. We were satisfied with the facilities and location, but there were a few things that need improvement. 1) the tile floors might be easy to clean, but the lack of area rugs made them rather cold to walk on. 2) The lighting was harsh, to say the least. We didn't realize that our room would be a suite. As we were only staying for 1 night, having a kitchenette and small dining area wasn't something we needed, but it was a nice surprise. "Will never stay there again"
Hidden charge for using the facilities($102- for 5 nights), which I did not use because I was there busy with the workshop. Plus they hold my $250 for 2 weeks in case I damage the room furniture. Maintenance had just been completed in the room but the ceiling fan sounded like an old prop aircraft taking off. The room was not prepared. the coffee machine was not plugged in, nor was it furnished with cups, etc. The staff was unable to assist us in a timely manner, but they did get it right after some unnecessary conversation.
