The hotel was clean and neat, the staff very helpful, and the bathroom was great. We also found the price fair and reasonable. The view out of the back of the hotel was not the best- apartment back porches and dirty laundry, so keep the curtains closed.

Stayed for a five night family vacation. Our room for three was very nice with a king bed and sofa bed. Efficiency kitchen with dishes and silverware and cookware. Compact refrigerator. Very well located in Eixample neighborhood one block from metro station. Easy walk to many restaurants and the Passieg Gracia or upper part of the Rambla Cataluna. However the BEST was the service of the front desk. Whatever the request they were ceaseless in their efforts to please and accommodate. Information, directions, recommendations for eating and transportation, ticketing. The staff could not do enough for us. This is service that is rare to find in the amenities industry: a true personal touch. My family can heartily recommend the Acacia Suites for a Barcelona vacation. The only negative for some is that it is not located directly on Plaza Cataluna or the Rambla but if you want a quieter neighborhood, with a local feel it is a very nice place.

It is easily reached by L99 bus from the airport for 2 EUR. Exit just before police station. Ask the driver to let you know when to exit (police station). After you exit the bus, continue moving forward few hundred yards and turn left to a walk (road) railway overpass. Continue further until you will see the hotel on your left. It is about 10-15 minutes to walk. Railway station is about 25 minutes and the ride to the city is somewhere from 15 -30 minutes depending how many stops. The beach is only 15 minutes walk. I had a great stay, the safe didn't work, and the breakfast was accidentally not included despite I chose the higher rate. Hotels.com told me pay for it and send them receipt to be reimbursed.
Location.
The Hotel Palace in Barcelona, Spain, is north of La Ramblas and 2 blocks from Passeig de Gràcia and 1 kilometer from Barcelona's Old Town. The Picasso Museum and Museum of Modern Art are less than 2 kilometers from the hotel. El Prat de Llobregat Airport is approximately 10 kilometers away.
Hotel Features.
Built in 1919, Hotel Palace is on a pleasant, tree-lined boulevard in Eixample. Through wrought iron gates embossed with gold, the hotel lobby is dominated by a large chandelier. Complimentary newspapers are available in the lobby and the 24-hour front desk provides services that include safe deposit boxes, translation services, and currency exchange.
The Caelis Restaurant serves Mediterranean and Catalan cuisine for lunches and dinners Mondays through Fridays. It is open on Saturday for dinner. Serving hot and cold buffet breakfasts daily, Diana's Garden features large patio doors that lead to the courtyard. Two bars, Hall Bar and Rien de Rien, are open daily.

Rien de Rien - Cocktail bar in the purest English style. Open daily for coctktails, mixers, and dips. Live music Tuesday to Saturday.

The Eixample suburb was created 1860–1920 and consequently holds the city’s finest Modernist buildings. The Passeig de Gràcia is the main artery, its wide pavements lined with designer shops and chic cafes. Great location, close to everything. The most helpful staff. The hotel and the rooms were very nice and very clean. We were trying to decide between this hotel and the Ritz and are very happy that we close the Plaza Hotel. Great choice! Will stay here again!

We loved this hotel. It is magnificent, with an extremely pleasant, attentive and helpful staff. The hotel smells elegant-there is some background scent permeating the hotel-you can detect it a half a block away-it is the smell of elegance. We were on the 4th floor front, and the room was very quiet-street noise is well filtered by the excellent insulated […] doors opening over the front of the hotel itself. There is some rumble from the metro under the hotel, but we quickly got used to it-my wife felt it was a comforting sensation ! Room was beautifully decorated, and excellently cleaned twice each day, with evening turn down service. Beds were great-firm but soft due to a pillowtop.Beware-we booked a room with one double or two twin beds by accident. We requested a King bed in advance by email, and it was arranged for us without additional charge. Beautiful renovation done in 2004-the room seemed brand new.Location is great-2 blocks off the Passieg, on a main cross street but not very busy. Very near the Rambla, easy to walk to sites. Spa was nice, fitness room very clean, small yet very new equipment. We did not eat at the hotel at all-restaurant has one Michelin star. We would go back in a heartbeat. Read more
"Great - with one funky flaw"
Perfect central location, large and comfortable room with modernized bathroom and a very fun bar in the lower level. BUT... for some reason they've decided to pump in a cloyingly noxious perfume throughout the hotel (mercifully not in the actual room, but everywhere else) - nice for the first few seconds but its inesapability and overpowering nature […] made us avoid lingering in what is an otherwise beautiful and comfortable lobby. "Hotel needs new carpets"
The hotel is almost rundown, needs new carpet. Better maintenance of elevators. Business room is often closed. Rooms are rather small. The staff is very helpful needs five star.

This hotel was stunning. It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! My room was a junior suite. It was beautifully appointed. I absolutely loved the look of it. Kind of old world. The hotel smelled wonderful also. If I ever return to Barcelona, I will definitely stay there again.

This is truly a beautiful hotel in a great central location in Barcelona. The attention to detail is evident all over the hotel. We only spent one night which is not near long enough. For this kind of luxury hotel you need to spend at least a few days. Only complaint is the price for breakfast which was horrific. Just 2 cups of coffee was almost 14 […] euros. This hotel was in a great central location for our 5 days in Barcelona. The staff were incredibly helpful and the lobby and rooms gorgeous. The only negative i can come up with would be the beds which were fine but not the ULTRA comfy/extra pillows/super plush soft mattress and sheets that so many upscale hotels have. Otherwise absolutely amazing !

This was one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at! The staff could have not been more attentive, the public spaces were beautiful and immaculately kept. The hotel room came with every amenity available from robe and slippers to a heated towel rack. There was even a rain shower!! I hated to leave. In Barcelona I would never stay anywhere else!
One of the benefits of this hotel was free WiFi. What they really meant was 1 hour of free WiFi in the hallway of the lobby. No joke you had to stand in the hallway to get the WiFi signal. Loved this hotel. A friend and I recently traveled to Barcelona for a "girl's getaway." The hotel was in a convenient location - we walked almost everywhere. The room was great, - we were right on the Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, but it wasn't too loud. The concierge team was great - even scoring us tickets to the sold out Barcelona/Valencia soccer […] match. Celine (in PR) was so pleasant and even stopped us to say hi when she saw us at a restaurant one evening. "Our stay at the Palace was exquisite in every way!"
We had just finished a rather hectic cruise of the west coast of Italy, so staying at the Palace turned out to be the absolutely perfect antidote to the frenetic pace of a cruise ship. The hotel had an elegant, soft feel about it that was soothing to our jangled sensibilities. It was an elegant refuge in an elegant city. The staff was cheerful and helpful […] and took care of the smallest details. At one point I asked the concierge where we could buy stamps to mail some postcards. She said to give them to her and she would take care of it for us. That was typical of the treatment we received. We were pampered and treated like royalty. The hotel was spotless. Every amenity was provided, from slippers waiting at our bedsides at night to a light that automatically came on when we entered the hallway of our room, to big, sturdy umbrella's for rainy days. We had a beautiful view up and down the Avinguda Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes from our balcony and we were within easy walking distance of all the major sights of old Barcelona. The La Rambla was three blocks from the hotel. Gaudi's Casa Batllo five blocks. While we took the tour buses to reconnoiter the overall larger city, we walked to every thing we wanted to see. If I had to sum up our experience staying at the Palace Hotel in one word, I would choose the word Magic with a capital "M." Read more

This was quite a surprise after a 12 cruise to stay at this wonderful hotel. Great Service, Great Food and the location is just right. This is the former Ritz Hotel but has not lost any of the Glitz. Stay here if you go to Barcelona. A great find.

The hotel is beautiful! We booked the 'Roman Bath" style room and the room was huge. Could not believe the bathroom, it was just as nice as the room was. "Absolutely Fabulous"
Our stay was short but great. After a three week cruise in the Mediterranean, we had only one day to take advantage of Barcelona. But our hotel was in a great spot for walking to many of the sights were interested in seeing. The Las Ramblas, Gothic Area and La Sagrada Familia church. I was concerned about the crime I had read on the web regarding pick […] pockets and harassing street urchins, but they never materialized. The hotel was beautiful and the staff was extremely helpful and courteous. We chose the room with the roman bath, don't ask me why, we didn't use it, but it was grand. The bed was great, the room quiet and exceptionally clean. The front door man was exceptional as well as the concierge. Checked on our flights during our dinner (the whole volcano thing in Iceland going on) and retrieved a taxi for us, told us about restaurants and locations of hidden treasures of Barcelona. We ended up eating dinner at their restaurant inside the hotel rather than walk the drizzling streets and it was fabulous. Only regret, we had to leave the next day. The hotel was excellently located, just 2 blocks away from Passig de Gracia which is the main street in Barcelona with great shops, restaurants and the two famous Gaudi mansions. It is also not too far from other great locations such as La Rambla (great shops and restaurants), Placa De Catalunaya and Cote D' Angles. "Luxurious Hotel. A Real Treat."
Beautiful hotel. Ultimate in luxury. Only a short walk from las ramblas. We didn't have breakfast or eat dinner in hotel as quite expensive but all other service is excellent especially the service in your room, bed linen changed every day and turned down every night. After reading all the other reviews, which was what made me choose this hotel, they were not wrong. This hotel was in a great location just off the busy tourist area for a quite nights sleep, yet close enough to walk everywhere. We didn't need to use the tube or a taxis everything was that close. The hotel was beautiful and the rooms certainly exceeded […] expectation for what you got. The rooms were large along with the bed and the bathroom was as stunning as you could get at the best hotels in the world. Please believe me when you read all the other reivews it is that good! One tiny point was the breakfast was not included in the room and it is very very expensive. We just went 100m down the road in the morning and got coffee, Juice and toasties for a few euros. But if you are there to treat yourself I'm sure the breakfast in the hotel is second to none, as is everything else. Read more

初めてのバルセロナでホテル選びにとても迷いました。 ２泊の内１泊はhotel palace を選びました。 外観もとても重厚で内装ももちろんクラシックなヨーロピアンなインテリアです。 特にロビーの豪華でゴージャスな雰囲気は最高でした。 若いスタッフはとても親切で丁寧で気取ることなく、ほっとしました。 一番のお気に入りは朝食のレストランです。 種類がたくさんあり、イベリコ豚なども目の前でスライスしてくれたりフルーツも私の好きなライチがたくさんありました。ｺﾞﾗｺﾞﾝﾌﾙｰﾂもあったとおもいます。 インテリアも最高で贅沢でゆっくりと最高の朝食をいただいて、夢のようなひと時でした。 値段も二人で５０００円くらいだったとおもいます。 （これだけ贅沢な朝食なのに安さにびっくり！） また泊まりたいです。

Tout était parfait. Le personnel est très qualifié, serviable et prévenant. L'hôtel est impeccable. Le service "voiturier" très appréciable en plein cœur de Barcelone. Petit déjeuner délicieux. Chambres spacieuses et propres.

Vorweg möchte ich sagen, das Hotel ich sehr schön, sehr gepflegt und man hat das leichte Gefühl durch die tolle Einrichtung, huntert Jahre in die Vergangenheit getaucht zu sein. Sher freundliches Personal. Modernes und sauberes Bad. Perfektes Englisch, Deutsch, Fanzösisch, Spanisch sogar Polnisch konnte Gästen von der Hotelmanagerin geholfen werden. […] Es war zauberhaft. Uns war der Service sehr wichtig, denn wir waren über Ostern in Bacelona und es regnete immer wieder. Manchmal konnten wir erst mittags raus und die Stadt erkunden. Daher hatten wir ein ausgiebiges und langes Frühstück... Ich gab dem Hotelservice eine Drei. Das hat folgenden Hintergrund: Wir kamen in den Frühstückssalon, in welchem wir in einer Reihe von anderen hungrigen Gästen warten durften. Als wir dann ca. 15min. später unseren Platz bekamen und Buffet wählten, waren die Rühreier kalt. Ich fragte nach Besteck um den Salat auf meinen Teller zu bekommen und mir wurde das des Schinken gereicht. Salz gab es nur eins, für den ganzen Frühstückraum, ich machte mich also auf die Suche nach diesem, da die Bedienung mich einfach vergessen und stehengelassen hatte. Als ich es fand und zu meinem Tisch zurückkehrte fehlte mir das Messer. Ich fragte also nach solchem und wurder abermals einach vergessen. Währenddessen hatte ich Zeit und ich bekam mit, dass die extra Bestellung für Erdbeeren bei unseren Tischnachbarn 20min. dauerten. Einfache, aufgeschnittene Erdbeeren ... Das war der erste Morgen ... Die folgenden zwei Tage verhielt es sich ähnlich. Man muss dazu sagen, dass das Hotel ausgebucht war und sie nicht damit umgehen konnten. Enttäusch gingen wir am Tag der Abfahrt zum Auschecken. Dort trafen wir die Hotelmanagerin, welche uns fragte, wie es und gefiel und ob wir einen schönen Aufenthalt hatten. Wir erzählten ihr unser morgentliches Desaster! Das Hotel ist sehr angenehm, teilweise sehr kühl und zugig aufgrund der Klimaanlage. Das Hauptrestaurant war geschlossen - ein Problem für ein solches Haus. Beim Nachtessen im Bistro wurde ein sehr teurer Wein verkauft - ohne dass er bestellt wurde. Kulanz und Managemententscheidung sind hier nicht besonders ausgeprägt.
