Room was good - a great value for the price! Just a few minor complaints - TV remote didn't work; a little noisy late at night (Saturday night; we were next to the elevator). Beds: very comfortable. Pillows, not so much (overly firm). Bathroom small but clean, bath/shower good, water pressure and temperature fine. Nice pool, adequate gym. Convenient in/out parking, reduced price with hotel validation. Front desk staff: helpful and polite.

"Elegant, comfortable, great service"
We were only at this hotel for one night as it was a splurge for our daughter's 14th birthday. Though, like other guests, we found the room to be small, it was attractive, clean, and enjoyable. The service staff -- everyone we encountered -- was impressively courteous and helpful. Location was excellent, and we loved the pool/hot tub, and gym. Our only […] complaint is that one of the restaurants (not the Beaver -- the other) was hugely expensive for rather mediocre food. My husband got a tart, which amounted to a personal size pizza, my daughter a bagel with lox, and I got a salad. We had 2 glasses of wine, and the bill was over $100. Nontheless it was convenient, and the waiter brought a piece of cake (on the house!) to celebrate our daughter's birthday. I really recommend this hotel if you can afford it. And normally we can't! "Great location - wonderful older hotel"
Staff was friendly and very helpful. Room was very nice, although a bit small. Bed was VERY comfortable. Great location right above the train station that also has reasonably priced food court with lots of choices.

"Fabulous Fairmont"
Stayed for only one night but would definitely return for my next visit to Montreal. The hotel is beautiful, clean, very close to old Montreal & the staff is exceptional. We were given a complimentary room upgrade when we arrived. The staff could not have been nicer. We had a minor issue with the sheets on the bed & when we called downstairs at 11 pm […] when it was discovered, it was resolved completely within 10 mins. Highly recommend this hotel. Read more
"Queen Elizabeth Hotel"
The hotel is beautiful and very, very convenient. Just don't understand the reason for making you pay for the refrigerator in your room! We just wanted to use it to keep our left-overs from dinner cold but didn't want to open the padlock and get charged, so the left-overs were tossed. Otherwise, it's a great place with very helpful staff. Convenient […] to many great places - all within walking distance. Would definitely stay there again. Read more
"Fairmont Queen Elizabeth in Montreal"
Lovely hotel, courteous service, charming room. Conveniently located right over the station where my Amtrak train arrived/left. But tho it was easy for me to access the station directly from a hotel elevator, it seemed like a bad security practice that someone from the station could wander up to guestroom hallways without passing any security.
Amazing hotel and great location! Very impressed

"Excellent Service & Great Location"
The Fairmont Queen Elizabeth proved to be the perfect hub for our Montreal adventure. It was in a convenient central location and had all of the amenities we wanted. The service was exceptional and the hotel staff was always friendly and quick to accommodate our requests. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
"Disappointing for $ spent"
I would not recommend this hotel. It needs to be redone. For the money it is like staying at a motel- why pay this much for motel like rooms. The room was small, the wallpaper was peeling the bathtub was peeling. They charge extra for everything. $20 a night for parking, $16 for 24 hours of WIFI. The place is a rip off. I would rather spend a little […] more for more modern amenities with included WIFI and parking. Read more
"Exceptional service with a smile"
I mentioned to an employee that there seemed to be a problem with the mini-fridge. He opened it and realized there was an ammonia leak. He called the service manager and mentioned the problem. He then handed the phone to me. It was the lead front desk clerk who asked me to come down. I was given a new room and it turned out to be an upgrade. During […] the rest of my stay employees would ask me if I was doing okay, if there was anything else they could do, etc. I can't praise the staff enough. Sure, it costs a bit more, but the hotel experience and location make ut worth every penny. Read more
"GREAT service!"
this was a last minute hotel stay...we were very pleasantly surprised at the plushness of the lobby and the cleanliness and comfort of the room. The rooms are 'compact', but they are very well appointed. Must point out the EXCEPTIONAL staff at the front desk and housekeeping. They all went out of their way to assist us and were very friendly.

"Very nice stay"
We stayed at this hotel in the middle of frigid Montreal January. Outside, Blvd Rene-Levesque can feel a bit desolate, but in one block you're on the more happening Ste. Catherine. The hotel is also connected to the underground city, which is extremely convenient. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, although the black tiles in the shower stall […] are definitely dated and the TV is not HD and is set in a low cabinet that is a bit hard to see when lying in bed. While we were there, the hot tub was broken, which was a disappointment, but the gym facilities are quite nice. Read more
"Fairmont, Montreal"
Beautiful hotel in a great location. Metro, train station, food court and shopping center right under the hotel (underground city) and very close to the Eaton Centre, which connects with other malls and metro stations. Only drawbacks: $17 daily for wi-fi and $28 daily for valet pkg, which is the only parking choice; also, no kitchenette or microvawe […] available. Besides that, excellent location, hotel and service. Read more
"Fairmont is affordable luxury"
I love this hotel! Service is amazing and it is just one block from Saint Catherine. The rooms are a little small but comfortable and luxurious. I thought the price was great!
"Queen Elizabeth - tres fantastique!"
we had a great time staying at the hotel. the concierge staff were amazing and very helpful. everyone was pleasant!
"Fairmont Queen Elizabeth - Montreal"
Excellence! Everthing about the hotel speaks of excellence.
"The Fairmont Queen Elizabeth in Montreal - Ideal"
The hotel is beautiful; well situated in the heart of Montreal, with quick access to shopping, transit, and restaurants. The hotel staff were pleasant and professional. Well worth the investment!
"An average stay"
First of all, this hotel has fantastic service. The check-in and check-out process was fast and courteous, and the concierge couldn't have been more helpful. My issue with this hotel was with the room. Twice I was given towels with smudges on them that looked like makeup or dried blood. The bed is also really, really hard. The bedding is luxurious, […] with down comforters and very comfy pillows, but the mattress ruined the experience. Overall, I couldn't wait to leave. Without a good night's sleep, the other parts of the stay can't be salvaged. Read more

No complaints except that the bed could have been more comfortable. very hard surface.
"The Hotel LRE in Montreal - close to train station"
We were surprised that most resturants and stores were closed for the entire Labor Day weekend which was most of our stay. We were there Friday, Sat., Sun. and Mon. Luckly we got our soveniers on Fri. It makes me wonder why we paid higher hotel rates when there were fewer servicies available. I have been to Montreal many times (with my late husband)so […] I know how much there is to enjoy. This was my sister's first visit and she was less impressed because of the unavailability of the things I mentioned, and others. I will have a difficult time getting her to return. We did take the Grayline Tour but the shopping was sorely missed. Read more
"Queen Elizabeth concerns"
I have stayed in the Queen Elizabeth on many occasions. My recent visit saw several things which I would not expect form a hotel at this level: all dealings with the check-in counter took far longer than they should have. Having only one staff member on duty at the mid-morning check-out time was inexcusable. There were also some cleanliness issues with […] my room: towels that had a very noticeable rood (curry); trash that had not been emptied; towels that were re-hung (on a several day stay) which were obviously dirty and in great need of replacement. I would not expect these things to occur in a property such as the Queen Elizabeth. Read more
good location to subway, pleased that the front desk suggested we go to the money exchange place and we were able to get a better exchange rate than there at the hotel and we were then able to enjoy the great breakfast buffet.

"Three day weekend at Fairmont"
The hotel was located in a very convenient area of the city--Downtown close to Old Montreal, The Plateau, and other sights. There are also two of the city bike rental hot spots within a block of the hotel, which we used to get everywhere! The room was very clean and comfortable, bathroom was a bit older but very well maintained. All in all I very much […] liked the hotel. My only complaint would be the lobby experience---it was consistently packed with tour groups and wedding parties, and had long lines for the front desk and concierge. I prefer a more intimate, quiet, less tour-groupy atmosphere. But the room was a lovely quiet escape from that. On the day of check in, we arrived about 5-6 hours before 4pm check in, and they placed us on "priority wait list" to check in early. However, the room still wasn't ready until just after 4pm. But, on the final day, they did extend check out from 10am until 2pm at my request for no charge, so that more than made up for it to me. All in all, I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Montreal. Read more
"Belle Montreal"
We stayed at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth in late March for an extended hockey weekend/birthday trip and were very pleased with the experience. Despite her age, the hotel is still a classic and updates throughout make it nicer than some reviews here indicated. The staff were very helpful and the food stalls in the train station beneath were great for […] a quick snack out of the wind. Our only "issue" was the rather exorbitant price of parking. There are better deals for indoor parking in the neighborhood and next time, we'll know that. Read more
"poor valet service and loud neighbors"
It was a good stay overall. I have stayed here before, but the valet at check-in was confusing and frustrating. We pulled in front on rene levesque at 3pm on a thursday. We were told to immediately move, even though there was a sign stating we had 15 minutes to unload. I was told to pull around the building in rush-hour traffic to a side street to have […] my car valet-parked. I did so (taking 15 minutes), only to sit for 10 minutes and then told to garage the car myself as the valet staff was overwhelmed. Several people right behind me were told the same thing. Around the building again. . .At check in, after a brief and rather insincere statement of apology, we waited 20 minutes in our room for our bags to be brought up. Loud neighbors at 11pm and 2:30 am did not help, although the front desk was responsive, at least. Read more
"good location in Montreal"
Went for a Saturday and Sunday night stay. Good location and the health club is nice and free of charge unlike many hotels in the US. The Gibson spa was also nice and conveniently located. I thought the room was small but comfortable. The others we were travelling with had a better view. It was still a little pricey but worth the treat.
"Hotel Reine Elizabeth Montréal"
the hotel Reine Elizabeth is up the central train station in Montréal,very centre from down town easy to walk every streets around.
"The Fairmont Queen Elizabeth in Montreal"
It was a very nice hotel we were just expecting a larger room and a king sized mattress instead of the queen. On the plus side though it puts you very close to a lot of the popular areas in downtown and is very easy to find. The concierge was not extremely helpful. They led us to the popular college age area of the city but didn't help us find any options […] for dining. Read more
"Queen Elizabeth Hotel Montreal"
The location was great but was disappointed with the size of the room for the cost. Staff very helpful and courteous.
"The Queen Elizabeth in downtown Montreal"
We found the staff to be helpful and friendly; the concierge helped with restaurant recommendations and reservations and movie showings along with suggestions for activities. We ate the beautiful buffet breakfast everyday; although it was pricey, kids were half price. The location was near shopping but the restaurants were more geared for business and […] cost more. The room was nice looking and clean. We would stay here again. Read more

"Can't Wait To Go Back"
Very courteous staff. Entire experience at The Queen Elizabeth Hotel was wonderful. Cleam room and comfortable bed. Convenient to all downtown attractions, shops and restaurants. Short walk to Bell Centre. Old city a short metro ride away. Valet parking is not outrageous comparing to other downtown metros (NYC, DC, etc.). That said, the self-parking […] option at adjacent Central Station does save $$ on parking. Looking forward for staying there again next trip to Montreal. Read more
"Fairmont Queen Elizabeth in Montreal"
Great hotel, nice amenities, very helpful staff from front desk folks to the housekeepers. Minor issues with room lamp, tv remote, elevator noise. Hotel responded promptly to issues. Montreal is an expensive city, and the hotel was pricey as well, but the great rate we got through hotels.com helped. This place is worth it.

"Excellent location, value and room"
I highly recommend this hotel, especially at the Hotels.com rate. I was concerned when I made the booking that the room would be too small, but it was perfectly fine for two people for a few days. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean with a nice bathtub and shower, and best of all for tourists, the hotel is centrally located and above a key […] train station. Read more

"Queen Elizabeth, Montreal, Canada"
Great location for walking to old town and accessing the subway. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We were bumped up to Gold status due to being overbooked and had a fabulous room with windows overlooking the rivier on one side and the city on the other. Being at the Gold Level we were invited to free hors d'oeuvres from 3 to 5 […] and an included breakfast which was very nice. The hotel has a gym and pool. "A Solid Four"
The Fairmont QE had a pleasant old-world, large hotel feel. Overall, it was good enough that we would consider staying there again. Excellent bed and pillows. Clean room, but cramped because of the large furniture. Decent shower. Elegant public areas. Mediocre restaurant, but a nice bar. There was an incorrect computer use charge on our bill, but the […] desk clerk removed it without any fuss. The pool was much smaller than it looked in the picture. Read more
