Hotel Eden Roc rates top scores in several important ways. First, the location is simply superb. It sits on the edge of the center of Positano, with stunning views over the town and the waves crashing against the shore. it was a short stroll down to the center of town and the beach. From suggesting and handling our restaurant reservations to discovering that we had a flat tire on our car and immediately repairing it so we could be on our way, we felt like VIPs. Finally, they were capable of providing an elegant tray of superb local cheeses and salumi that was delivered to us when we decided to spend an afternoon on the sundeck by the pool. The service at Eden Roc was the best service out of any hotel I've ever stayed at! They bend over backwards for you, and the staff is all genuinely friendly and happy to help. Starting with breakfast, Tony is a hoot with his extravagent hospitality and remembers your coffee orders on the first day for the remainder of your trip! They even looked up the traffic/construction report for that day and found a bridge was under construction and recommended we leave even earlier. I'd like to start out by stating that we are seasoned travelers, and have been all over the world. From the […] parking attendant to the front desk, from waitresses to the owner, the staff at Eden Roc were incredibly friendly and helpful. The location is outstanding, as long as you have a reasonably high level of cardiovascular fitness. If you don't, Positano may not be your best vacation choice. You are walking up and down hills and stairs all during your visit to the town. The rooftop pool was small, but quite nice, and the hotel's view was outstanding! We hope to return one day soon. Great Hotel in Positano. Big room with a spetacular view. Staff was amazing. Lorenzo, Alessandro and Pascal were great and we are thankful for all the help and attention with our issue in Rome. They made our stay perfect. Next time we will skip Rome and go straight to Positano.

Hotel Eden Roc staff were by far the biggest selling point. All staff were very helpful, spoke English when we struggled with Italian, provided anything we needed (neighborhood maps, electric converters, additional towels, help with the key, etc.), and were really really lovely. This includes everyone from front desk staff, waiters in the restaurant […] and staff who help on the terrace and the pool. After traveling and staying in apartment-style B&Bs for several days, the staff made Eden Roc feel worth every penny. In addition to them, the views are ASTOUNDING. The rooftop pool and sun chairs, and sun chairs on the deck were great, and the continental breakfast spread was gorgeous, abundant and delicious. Compared to the American Best Western-style continental breakfast, Eden Roc made it feel like we were starting each day with a little extra luxury. The hotel IS at the top of the hill, which can be disheartening if you want to go get dinner at the end of a long day, but I think the views are most certainly worth the hike (and ultimately, if you're in Positano, you should be ready for the hill no matter what). Add a jaccuzzi tub, and there's really not much else you can ask for. Read more

We had so much fun at this hotel! The staff was amazing and so friendly. We drove in and arrived at 1am- just exhausted. The staff took over everything. Took our bags, the cars, and guided us into the restaurant for a cocktail and something to eat. They were so apologetic that the restaurant was closed but offered to make some "snacks." Well, platters […] of meats and cheeses and breads came out. The housekeeping was fabulous- they cleaned everything every single day! The only thing was that it was warm- in March and no air conditioning. We kept the french doors open but it was warm in the room. I would recommend bringing a fan! Otherwise- everything was great! Location good and bad...it's a long walk to the center of the town but the the shuttle bus service will stop at the hotel. The on-site restaurant was poor, but breakfast in the bright breakfast room was outstanding. There was a great family-run restaurant close-by, about 5 minute walk, named Bruno's...excellent food and service.

I highly recommend staying at the Eden Roc in Positano. The room was large and comfortable. The service was very friendly and helpful. The balcony was huge for a hotel and the view is breathtaking. The property itself is well taken care of and we really enjoyed watching the sunset one evening on the rooftop deck. It's also very close to the bus stop […] which is nice when you're lugging heavy bags. It is a 10 min hike coming back up from the beach so if you're not Ok with walking uphill then maybe this isn't the one for you. But if you're not Ok with walking uphill then Positano in general is not for you. You're also probably better off avoiding the hotel restaurant - we ate there one night when it was raining and it was alright but you can do a lot better. Read more

The hotel is awesome located, near the Sita bus 2nd stop and also the center of Positano (is a big walk from the Piaggia Grande) but still is a great location to enjoy everything, restaurant, beach, souvenir stores, and the view etc. I got a 1 floor room, (2nd floor) I was afraid about the noise from the street, but really is not as bad as I read in […] other reviews. They keep the bedrooms really clean, they do an awesome job with that... not iron in italians hotels, we used their laundry service reasonable priced!. The people who work at the Eden Roc are very nice and always with a smile, and if you need help with information, they are always available and open to give it to you, just ask. No problem communicating either. they speak English. besides if you go to to another country, try at least to learn and used few words! not everything has to be ENGLISH! for that matter stay in US. I do have one suggestion: they should improve the breakfast, (presentation, flavor and variety) I wasn't too impress, but the waiters there were very attentive. :-) I had the best 4 nights there, and I will recommend this hotel Read more

They brought champagne to our room when we checked in, made excellent restaurant recommendations, coordinated restaurant reservations and shuttles, brought breakfast to our room when we overslept and missed it, made sure there were enough lounge chairs on the […] pool deck, and were available to answer our every question on what to do and see on the Amalfi Coast and how to get around. Also the view from both our room and the pool deck was stunning. The website photos of the pool don't do it justice. We loved the Eden Roc Hotel in Positano and would definitely stay there again. Our room was large, with a jacuzzi and a large terrace overlooking the sea. The excellent breakfast (included) was served in a well appointed dining room with sea views. We enjoyed using the pool and marvelled at the breathtaking vistas from the lounge chairs by the pool. […] There is also an excellent restaurant. Lorenzo and Alfonso, the brothers at the desk were wonderful and helpful hosts, as was the rest of the staff. They arranged for a shuttle (free) to take us to a family run restaurant in the town above Positano, where we were served a neverending number of courses of delicious homemade Italian food accompanied by an Italian singer. Hotel well situated only one minute from second Bus stop in Positano, which is very confident for buses to Sorrento or the other way to Amalfi and Ravello. Slight negative no Tea/Coffee making facilities in room. Also, as a birthday surprise my husband ordered a birthday cake which was very nice but not worth the 45euros charged!!! We stayed for 2 nights in October 2012. We are a family of 5. We booked a junior suite. The room was tight for 5 people but we managed for the 2 nights. The staff are wonderful, always very friendly and accommodating. The location is approx a 10 minute walk down the hill to the 'beach'. We loved postiano and wished we had stayed an extra night or two. […] One thing we did do was have a massage and I must say it was very ordinary indeed - give this a miss!! Thoroughly recommend this hotel, fantastic views from room (314) of sea and Positano. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast (7:30-10:30) was ample and choice wide including scrambled eggs, cereal, ham, cheese, savoury tarts, breads and cakes. Lunches and dinners were served on 5th floor with splendid views. Walk to positano beach is downhill […] (about 10mins) through pretty streets/alleys obviously up hill on the way back but amalfi coast is very hilly. The swimming pool is also on 5th floor, small but great views and drinks served by pool. The balcony had plenty of room with a couple of sun beds (south facing), sitting area and bedroom reasonable space with plenty of storage. Flat screen tv and jacuzzi bath in bathroom. Our room was huge- a bedroom and a living room, a balcony with a massive jacuzzi and an enormous bathroom. The bed was extremely comfortable, firm with lovely bed linen, and bigger than the advertised queen-sized. There was a lot of wadrobe and drawer space. The bathroom had a jacuzzi too (we didn't use it) a great power shower and very large bath. […] Each morning we rushed to our balcony to take in the beautiful view of the ocean and the fairy tale like houses on the cliff. We booked a junior suite, and it was well worth the extra money. We had a lovely sea-facing baclony with loungers that were in the sun from morning until late afternoon when the sun dropped behind the mountain. We received a warm welcome and glasses of prosecco were delivered to our room on arrival. The hotel has an elevated position over Positano, […] so has great views down over the town and out to sea. There was valet parking for our car (at an additional cost), and we didn't need to use the car while there as it was easy enough to walk down to the shops and restaurants. The breakfast buffet was lovely, and Toni was a brilliant and attentive waiter. Nothing was too much trouble, he always remembered by husbands coffee order and was so friendly. The only cons of this hotel are that it is on the road, and we heard a fair few motorbikes and coaches beeping as they were negotiating the narrow bends.
