My wife and I stayed in this hotel in the middle of our 2-week French vacation. It was, without hestitation, the most disappointing part of our trip. The positives of La Reine Astrid are simple, a lot of space in each room and close to a fanatastic part. The negatives are abundant. - Unhelpful staff: we repeatly asked the staff for recommendations […] and help on mass transit and were typically given general., unhelpful information. - Horrible bed: Took uncomfortable beds to a new low - Poor location: Don't be misguided by the other reviews, it is a 30-45 minute walk to downtown or any place of interest (other than the park). This is not a convenient hotel. The best description I read of it was, "it is like borrowwing a friends flat in the city." This is a residential area, away from the food and attractions. - Hot: It says A/C but good luck with that. - Very busy street: Based on the hot room , we had to sleep with the windows open, the road outside is very, very busy and cars scream down it quickly at night. This was not a relaxing place to be. My wife and I stayed at 8 hotels aand B&B's on this trip and we have stayed in countless others in our travels around Europe. This was NOT a 4-star quality hotel, NOT convenient to anything, and we do NOT recommend it to anyone. Also, to note, they charge a bundle for WiFi and the business center, only hotel in on this trip to do so. Read more

We enjoyed this quiet hotel in a residential neighborhood. We boarded the bus in front of the hotel, which connected to the metro into the historic and tourist areas of Lyon. Very nice hotel near the downtown shopping district (20 minutes). Very clean, large room at a reasonable price (3 guest suite with kitchenette). Breakfast is too expensive at 20 euro each, we opted for juice and pastries from a shop down the street. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room super clean. A little dated and could use a little freshening […] up. A beautiful walk to the shopping district where you can get groceries and a great Irish Pub (Flanigans). Read more

complimentary tea and coffee - only 1 tea bag and one coffee on arrival and not replaced. No tea towel on arrival. Tea towel arrived 3rd day together with dishwasher tablet (had to own tea towel). Toiletries not renewed daily. Comfortable bed and room.

We had a lovely time in Lyon staying at this hotel although its a bit far from the central and restaurants, the walk along the riverbank is lovely. The breakfast is a bit expensive €20 pp and also the room decor is a bit tired and outdated. But the staff are very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

Great for travelling with a baby as all rooms have kitchens and microwaves so can sterilise bottles. Also cot can go in bedroom and we had food delivered into the living room so very easy. Excellent food too.

The hotel is so accessible, steps away from bus station. It is also fairly close to the old Lyon (like 12 minutes of walking), the park (5minutes walking), and the city center (around 15 minutes). However, it's not all about the location; size of the rooms are u nbelievably large! I was in a single, which was the size of a regular suit in North America. […] It also had a kitchen with all the appliance (even dish washer and microwave), and also complementary gym and sona. Had a great stay here. Although a little walk to town it was across the road and down a little from the gardens and zoo (free) which kids thought was a good walk out. A long way to the airport but staff were very helpful in allowing us to make contact with the car company. The garage is downstairs and relatively spaacious for Europe with each car afforded […] its own space even though limited spaces. Quiet neighbourhood and minimal road noises so slept really well in apartment, fold out lounge in living area was good and space fantastic. Our specific room was not avalable but they supplied us breakfast for the family to compensate, which was an extensive range and we felt we were more than accommodtaed. Although gym hard to get easy access as you have to go through reception for them to open it was really well set up and wish we had more yime to explore the area. A lovely city, much more than expected, great history and lovely bucildings with loads of character. A great hotel with wonderful service. The breakfast was lovely albeit pricey (20 euros!), but the scrambled eggs were perfection itself. My family (3 of us) had a suite with a kitchen, unnecessary for us but the room was wonderfully decorated and all the facilities worked perfectly. The hotel is close to the Parc de la Tete d'Or and the River Rhone. From the Part Dieu railway station it is easy to take either a C1 electric bus or a 41 bus and get out at the Museum stop. We had an Exec suite with balcony. king size bed, separate lounge/dining and a kitchen. It was huge. Reception staff were great and booked restaurants and a tour […] for us. The wonderful Julie at reception made recommendations for restaurants. Quiet neighbourhood and an easy walk to supermarket, and the famousPaul Bocuse Les Halles de Lyon (and its fabulous cheeses and macaroons). downgraded on arrival - promise to refund difference to room delivered but as yet no appearance on the funds (+2 weeks) - basically have pre-paid and shown us the door with promise to contact us - but singularly failed to do so. Hotel itself is ok, though reception area and restaurant shows more promise than the rooms (ok but felt kitchen was rather […] stale and grubby). Restaurant is expensive - and did not appreciate being told i had had 3 beers when I had 2 and then having to argue the toss with the staff. Pretty disgusted with the behaviour of the staff over the room downgrade - it's simple - upgrade and i would not care - downgrade and they should make me whole on the room rate. An offer for a free drink (5 euro) is not the same as a 50 euro difference and still waiting to hear back from them (as promised) about the refund that I would (definitely) be recieving... Would not recommend this hotel due to the behaviour of the staff, they are downright dishonest. Read more

Bonne impression globale tempérée par : la réservation au 01 57........... Infernale car interlocuteur ne comprenait pratiquement rien. Réservation au nom de Barbier alors que j'avais spécifié de La Serre (mon nom étant Barbier de La Serre), d'où attente pour me "retrouver" à l'hôtel. Petit déjeuner non conforme à ma commande.

L'accueil est très agréable et professionnel. L'hôtel est idéalement situé, à deux pas du Parc de la tête d'Or, face à un arrêt de bus et malgré tout au calme. Nous n'avons pu bénéficier du restaurant qui était fermé pour le "pont" du 8 mai. Hotellet ligger nær Interpol for de som skal besøke denen intsitusjonen. Rett utenfor hotellet går det busser som tar deg til byens STORE shoppingsenter (7 minutter) og derifra går det t-bane til resten av byen sentrum.
