All rooms includeSan Marco (St Mark’s) is quintessential visitors’ Venice. The Piazza San Marco, famous for its pigeons, campanile, basilica, Palazzo Ducale (Doge’s Palace) and expensive cafes, is unmissable. The waterfront views are legendary and more gondolas depart from here than anywhere else in the city. In season the Piazza teems with day trippers though just a block or two away streets are quiet and offer more museums and palaces to explore.

Staff condescending, no response to non- functioning airconditioning in room leading to multiple mosquito bites when window opened to ventilate hot room!, prices in minibar and for room service exhorbitant even by Venice standards.

We stayed at the Westin for one night then got on a cruise ship. We took a water taxi for 100 euros from the airport to the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel, the staff was waiting on the dock to help us out of the taxi and take our lugguage into the Hotel. We checked in and were taken to our room by the desk person who gave us the history of the hotel and showed us were everything was, then the lugguage came. The room was very clean and furnishings were venitian. We upgraded and could see the grand canal from our room which was great. We were also in a great location close to many sites. We asked the people at the desk to send us to a restaurant that locals would eat at. They sent us to a wonderful restaurant and we were the only americans. The food was excellent. The bed was very comfortable and the room was a nice size with a marble bathroom. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

It's a bit hard to find at first because the entrance is "behind" other hotels and not off of a main street. But its tucked away entry has its charm and offers a bit more quiet. It is right off the canal so if you arrive by water taxi, location is not a problem. We arrived by water bus or vaporetti. The room we stayed in was a regular double but quite posh. We loved our stay and breakfast by the canal was awesome. It's right by Piazza San Marco so location is absolutely kill.

The location on the Grand Canal is fantastic. Your are literally next to the Hotel Bauer, which for the $, may be a better choice. The beds while (king?) are definitely singles pushed together and held in place very tenuously. The bed was fairly comfortable, but not amazingly heavenly. We were at the beginning of our trip and were looking to spend time in bed napping, etc, but that bed made it a little difficult to stay asleep. That is really our only complaint, so as you can tell otherwise, the hotel was great.

Great location and great service. They can clean up the courtyard a little. Also, keep in mind that breakfast is 52 Euros, which is $77.00.
