It was very convenient from I 95 and that was want we needed. We went to a very nice restaurant that was not a chain called The Seafood House which was close. It was very good.

First off when I got in the hotel I noticed that the bathroom was not clean. I opened the shower and noticed yellow streaks of some substance in the shower. The handle on the shower was broke and had the time of my life trying to work it just to adjust water to my needs. I called down to complain but they had no other rooms available. This Wingate was about what I expected: a very affordable hotel that was basic but livable. The bathroom was the low point. The toliet ran constantly due to a leak. The whole bathroom looked old and dingy. There were also other minor issues. The included breakfast buffet was just OK. The chair in the bedroom had a huge splatter stain all over the side. […] (I think it was just mud.) Some other things were broken or missing--for example, the in-room safe didn't work. Having said all of that, it was a good value for what a paid. The room was a good size. The front desk was very friendly. There was a small gym and a whirlpool inside, as well as a small outdoor pool that looked nice but was closed for the winter. The free WiFi was easily accessed. And the hotel is in a good location, especially for I-95 travelers. Overall, this hotel is properly rated at 2.5 stars. I got what I expected for a good price. Read more

we booked this hotel knowing it was not right downtown but other reviews indicated it wasn't too far, this was not the case. Allow for 25-30 minutes to get downtown. Pool area is very small with limited seating and smoking was allowed around the pool which we didn't appreciate. Hotel room was dirty.

It was ok, but for the price i paid i expected a newer hotel. It was not far from downtown savannah but still a drive and the hotels right in the downtown area were only 30 bucks more. The hotel was good the kids enjoyed the pool and the whirlpool a lot. There is no indoor pool but the best thing you need your room key to get to the outside pol. The room was very clean no problems there. The free breakfast was okay I don't eat beef or pork so that made it hard for me kids liked the waffles. This is a great location for us to stop and stay for our trip to Disney.. we travel 9 hours then sleep over then travel another 4.5. We try and get there early so we can take advantage of the amenities of the hotel. It is close to the city for tours/restaurants but it is about 200 yds from RT 95. super convenient and the hotel staff is very friendly […] and helpful.. continental breakfast the next morning then we are off. This would be a great stop if you were on a business trip as well as a scenic trip to downtown Savannnah. I recommend to families traveling for sure.
